So I'm a bit late to gen8 and started playing like a day ago, and this is where I ended up with my memeteambuilding skills.
Aegislash @ Life Orb
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Shadow Sneak
- Head Smash
- Swords Dance
- Sacred Sword
It's offensive Aegi!
LO STAB Sneaks off max invested 140 attack hit insanely hard at +2, head smash can break past pex and mandi and stuff, and sacred is standard coverage.
Don't be afraid to just throw this into a ferro and SD up, maybe even SD twice if they stay in to leech - this thing can break stuff surprisingly well.
Ditto @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Imposter
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Transform
I know we need 3 lines to every mon, but i think anyone who ever played gen8 knows what this does by now - it RKs everything.
Min speed for last mon ditto pp stall wars
Dragapult @ Eject Pack
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Darts
- Phantom Force
Remember back in gen7, when specs koko dropped an obscenely strong volt and then went into a counter? Now you can do it again!
Clear Body prevents webs/intimidate from launching you out of battle early, Eject Pack turns Draco into a one-time 130bp stab Uturn, and the last 3 moves and EV spread are standard dd dragapult aka everyone' favourite broken dymamax sweeper.
Dugtrio @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch
- Final Gambit
Scarf Dugtrio, possibly one of the best antileads around. While its' power is somewhat disappointing (stone edge fails to OHKO darm from full 60% of the time if we factor in misses), the utility of safely removing a vast majority of the tier after they claimed a kill is simply too good to pass up, and you don't even need to worry about random scarf mons like toxtricity since you now outspeed 'em all.
Sucker is to deal some chip to +1 dragapult but can be used to fake a less insane set early on, and gambit is mainly a momentum/"don't let corviknight roost for free" move you shouldn't really ever need to use.
Ol' Reliable (Snorlax) @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 188 HP / 130 Def / 192 SpD
Careful Nature
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Body Slam
- Earthquake
I loved berrycycle lax all throughout the last generation, and with the massive loss of power in OU and the prevalence of Ghost-Types, Lax is ready to shine again.
Body slam spreads yellow magics, EQ hits ghosts and bisharp whom this team hates to face. Resttalk is obligatory recovery, and the spread is an eternal piece of wisdomwhich I stole from the gen7 RU analysis.
This mon is basically defensive glue stuff and somewhat fixes the ghost weakness the rest of the team has. Darkest Lariat over Earthquake could be considered to hit the various ghosts a bit harder, but comes at the expense of a worse bish matchup.
Xatu @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Roost
- Heat Wave
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam
Honestly this was just a filler magic bouncer (with the team lacking rocks and spin, I kind of needed one) that switches into pex and scares it out, i took xatu since it comes into ferro too to prevent hazardstacking and has actual coverage moves unlike espeon.
