Ceruledge is an incredibly powerful wallbreaker due to its potent offensive typing, boosted Fire-type attacks, and stellar coverage. Shadow Sneak is makes up for Ceruledge's lackluster Speed and can finish off faster Pokemon. Solar Blade and Close Combat provide coverage against foes that tank Ceruledge's STAB moves, such as Garganacl, Great Tusk, Chi-Yu, and Roaring Moon. Alternatively, Will-O-Wisp gives up coverage for the ability to cripple switch-ins like Fur Coat Garchomp and Hippowdon. Orichalcum Pulse is the preferred ability due to the Attack bonus, but Desolate Land provides it with some defensive utility by checking opposing Primordial Sea users. Due to Ceruledge frailty, it appreciates pivoting and entry hazard removal from teammates like Corviknight, Great Tusk, and Iron Treads. Strong special attackers such as Iron Bundle can pair with Ceruledge to break down each other's checks, such as Fur Coat Garganacl and Garchomp and Blissey and Ice Scales Corviknight, respectively.
