I. Introduction

Alright so this is going to be a quick little RMT by me, nothing Schmancy like the previous ones sorry but im low on time and might be away from home. Spring Break~

Alright so this team is based around the UU beast Kingdra. Kingdra is only UU for one reason, Swift Swim. What are you crazy it should be OU with swift swim! Well no that combo is banned but that doesn't render Kingdra completely useless now does it? With the amount of rain teams running around its not rare that i get paired against a rain team in which case Kingdra becomes an absolute UBER beast.

The teams idea is to build around kingdra and help it sweep. Kingdra after a DD or 2 can unleash powerful STABS that are resisted by steel and water types, this is where the rest of the team comes in. Objective: Eliminate threats set up and sweep.

II. Team Building Process

230.png

This teams highlighted player, Kingdra. Kingdra runs a SubDD set which in rain guarantees at least 1 Dragon Dance after which this thing can outspeed every single OU pokemon with a scarf. However Kingdra on the defensive hand resists fire and water x4 which is nice but needs help with Steel and Bulky water types.

230.png
485.png

Kingdra can sweep through any team behind a sub once Steel types have been taken down. This is where Heatran comes in, he runs an all out attacking set to hit Ferrothorn, Magnezone, Scizor, and Bronzong for hard damage, even in the rain. He also sets up the ever so helpful Stealth Rocks.

Now that i had Kingdras Steel weakness covered, i needed to get rid of his bulky water type issue. For this i decided to add in Breloom who runs a the typical Spore set. Heatran quivers in fear of any water type because well he cant touch Jellicent period. Breloom does a great job of taking down the Steel Types even if Heatran gets taken down and also takes down the Water issue. He also has great synergy with Heaty Boy.

Gengar is added to be my spin blocker. He runs a life orb pain split set to dish out damage checking psychic types and runs the typical Focus blast. However the move that adds the cherry on top is pain split. Pokemon who he cant hit for neutral or the dreaded blissey that come in to counter it, Gengar will be just enough hp to pain split to leave a hole in blissey.

I needed a priority user to clean up after Kingdras reign. It was either between scizor or Mamoswine but i liked that bullet punch handled tyranitars who run pursuit. Also Scizor has nice synergy with Heatran which is always a plus.

I decided to add in a MixMence set which was a perfect counter to any steel type and Dragon types. It typically bluffs the Lum Berry set or Scarf but instead runs a life orb to hit steel types with significant damage. And with Jirachi running around its usually an issue if Heatran is down. Salamence has the perfect balance of quickness and enough life orb boosted raw power to take down its opponent.

III. In Depth of The Team

Jolly | Swift Swim | Female
44 Hp | 252 Spd | 212 Atk

Substitute | Dragon Dance | Waterfall | Outrage

Kingdra is the underrated Beast of the UU tier. He is the highlighted player of the team and once he has the dragon dance set up, he is almost unstoppable especially in rain. I chose Jolly for this set because i need him to have as much speed as possible to start with so he can get a sub up. The 44 Hp gets him just pass 300 enough to set up 3 or 4 Substitutes if all goes well. For attack, i could be a little bit flexible seeing that Dragon Dance, would make up for the lost evs to HP. Her Ability is Swift Swim over Sniper because crits themselves are rare as is and i already have enough power so i really Dont need it. Also when paired against a rain team Kingdra becomes unstoppable surpassing even Scarfed Terrakion and any other Ou pokemon. Waterfall Because this is a physical set and Waterfall is the obvious STAB. Outrage is self explanatory again powerful Physical STAB. Leftovers were pretty obvious because life orb recoil combined with Sub damage killed my girl here off too fast, stopping it mid-sweep. Kingdra does well as a sweeper once its counters are checked and can OHKO most things for Super effective or neutral damage. It appreciates the Stealth Rocks but it wont change much but sometimes it does save my butt on some occasions. When this thing hides behind a sub its damn near unstoppable due to its only 1 weakness.

Timid | Flash Fire | Male
4 HP | 252 SpAtk | 252 Spd

Stealth Rock | Fire Blast | Hidden Power | Earth Power

Heatran is the best fire type in OU. Yes you heard me the best (Victini NO). On to what he does for me anyway. In order for Kingdra to do its job, Heatran must rid every and all steel types opposing namely: Ferrothorn, Bronzong, Jirachi, and Scizor. (these are just a few). In order to do this Heatran must take an offensive approach rather than the commonly seen specially defensive set. For this I decided to give it sweeper Evs. 252 Spd for speed to outrun Special Jirachi and Most steels are slow anyway but it he Outspeeds other pokemon beyond what he is meant to deal with. 252 SpAtk for raw power to give STAB fire blast max damage. I chose Life Orb over Air Balloon because most steel types now are seen in rain and i need the extra boost to dent Ferrothorn enough that kingdra can finish up incase Heatran goes bye bye. Another reason i gave it speed is so it can set up rocks before it dies. Rocks are crucial nor essential but they help and any sweeper appreciates them regardless. They put volcaronas in tight spots. Hidden power Ice is to get a last hit or 2 in on those pesky dragon types. Earth Power is amazing because Heatran catches itself switching into Fire types to sap up damage and can send back a checking Earth Power for the OHKO. Heatran is crucial as he takes the pressure off of Breloom and Scizor by completely negating fire moves but i have to play around tricky ones like Infernape.

Jolly | Technician | Female
4 SpDef | 252 Atk | 252 Spd

Spore | Swords Dance | Bullet Seed | Mach Punch

This is part 2 of Kingdras right hand helpers. The lean mean green machine! Im so punny. Ahaha onto his role though :P. Heatran does a superb job of fighting off those steel types but cowers at the sight of any water type. I added in Breloom to quickly dispatch of bulky water types name : Jellicent, Swampert, Politoed, Tentacruel, Milotic, and a crap ton more i cant think of right now. In summary rain abusers! Breloom runs again the standard Sweeper Evs and im bringing back the old Gem setup. Jolly for again max speed so he cant get that spore off, most waters are slow now anyway but yea. Swords Dance to give it that extra kick and take away the need for a Life orb. Bullet Seed Because im running technician which makes each and every one of these things a seed bomb lol. Mach Punch for the priority and STAB. I choose fighting Gem because well life orb gives Breloom a timer, a short one at that. Being that she has low hp the walking pot bomb cant take 4 or 5 turns of LO recoil. Breloom i think i could replace because of its frailty but its power oh man its, its good trust me. Celebii > Breloom? Ill leave you up to that. Breloom abuses the Technician and Mach punch making this a powerful priority user and with Fighting Gem boosted STAB and SD its gonna OHKO something. However he still struggles with jirachi which can tank both of these hits and if wishywishy gets a sub and a CM up im almost done for.

Adamant | Technician | Male
248 Hp | 252 Atk | 8 SpDef

Bullet Punch | U-Turn | Superpower | Pursuit

I needed a second Priority user to clean up after Kingdra and Scizor works wonders. I chose scizor over Mamoswine because of the incredible synergy and Ice shard is fairly weak even with the STAB boost. Scizor on the other hand has a shit ton of power ( shit ton is an actual measurement right above crap load) combined with a choice band and STAB. This things gonna do way more damage than any Mamoswine out there. Scizor takes out another problem which happens to be espeon. Its not an issue for the magic bounce because im not spreading status or putting up spikes seeds or any mumbo jumbo. Its fast and i need to get rid of fast. The evs provided lets him live just one psyshock enough with enough hp to u-turn out for offensive momentum and OHKO espeon. Superpower to cover weaknesses and Pursuit works wonders. Pursuit trapping Latias is amazing if its not carrying the HP fire. Scizor is brought in when the other team is fairly low hp enough that he can KO with bullet punch. He also deals with the insane pain known as tyranitar. He sets up weather which breaks sub over time and i dont like having Stone edges come at any one of my pokes nor do i like pursuit trapping when its done to me. Again its not a huge threat but i Dont like it around. All in All i love scizor and he hasn't failed me yet so its only right that he has a spot on this team.

Timid | Levitate | Female
252 SpAtk | 252 Spd | 4 Def|

Substitute | Pain Split | Focus Blast | Shadow Ball

Gengar is my designated spin blocker. He works Wonders setting up on Starmies or forcing them out. Once he has his substitute up he unleashes Shadow Balls until hes low enough to Pain Split Back up. Gengar is timid so he can outspeed Starmie and for max speed sweeping evs. 252 SpAtk to give Shadow Ball all the power it needs. Female because its shiny and i actually got lucky breeding this <3 on my DS. I chose Life Orb so he can dish out powerfull Shadow Balls and although Gengy doesnt have much health, he doesnt need it, it works to my advantage. Substitute to tank damage as he is kind of frail and to wear himself down. Pain split is the crux of this set. Focus Blast is to hit the normal types gengars Shadow balls cant hit. Thats why of course he has focus blast. However on pokemon such as blissey, Focus blast if it doesnt miss does almost nothing. BUT! Pain splitting Blissey sets this woman back to full HP. The reason i mention blissey is because if i switch into a physical poke they can easily double switch or worse, wish pass. So if i pain split blissey its gonna usually protect then i can send in my Breloom or another counter. Gengar counters and deals with the bulkiest threats but its downfall is its frailty and this is easily the most replaceable pokemon on the team.

Naive | Moxie | Male
64 Atk | 252 Spd | 192 SpAtk

Draco Meteor | Outrage | Fire Blast | Earthquake

Salamence is the last featured member of this team. While quickly reviewing my team i noticed the lack of a scarfer meaning any other scarf can outspeed this team without priority users around. I also wanted a nice balance between physcial and Special and i noticed a mix mence sitting around and it got casually placed in here. After a couple of test runs it worked out great giving me perfect coverage against steel types and knocking out latias. Naive nature is the obvious selection because this is a mixed set and i Dont want to reduce attack or special attack but i want to keep speed. I chose moxie as my ability because intimidate really does nothing for me. Also when Salamence is ready to OHKO with an outrage the second one is no laughing matter. 64 Atk Evs because moxie provides me with a nice boost and HE already has high Base ATK anyway, its the special end where he needs a bit of help. 252 Speed evs to once again provide max speed. Draco Meteor for strong Special hits. Outrage for the more specially defensive pokes. Fire blast to rid steel types. Earthquake to get rid of the other ones. Overall Salamence has worked wonders. When he gets a moxie boost off outrage hes pretty much a train wreck to other teams. Anyway here the last member of of this team.

IIII. Lets Wrap It Up

BTW im not big on the importable and you can steal this team if you want but if you guys want just leave a comment telling me to add one ill do it i Dont mind.

Thanks to all of you guys who took the time to look at my team rate and if and you like it please give it a LUVDISC. Try it out and im open to any rates any suggestions, and i will try them no matter what. A threat list is coming soon and look out for it Thanks for the time guys!

Nice team that you have used to play with, but I would say that you should use Garchomp over Salamence.
garchomp

Garchomp can take rock and steel types better in OU, and is generally better in the case of Jirachi due to the fact that it is faster and has a wider movepool overall. It can use fire fang to take on Ice types. Earthquake to take on most of anything, including heatran and other steel types. and Outrage+dragon claw to take on dragon types.

To get on by import

Garchomp @ Choice Band
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Fang
- Dragon Claw

Thx so much for the r8

I love the idea of garchomp i tried it ou on PO it's working wonders but its almost the same as Salamance I also like Salamances moxie ability however it's nice thank you
