XY NU Second Chances(NU RMT)

Hi Guys! sanjay2000 here, and this is my first attempt at a Gen 6 RMT. (Also, Sorry but I don't know how to add the pokemon sprites)

Teambuilding Process:

So basically I wanted to use the core of Mesprit, Lilligant, and Feraligatr to wreck house. The core itself is self explanatory, Feraligatr the main sweeper, Lilligant as "Backup" and Mesprit as an amazing wallbreaker.
So after that, I looked at my 3 team slots. I needed a hazard setter. I tried Crustle, and it didn't fit for me, and I found Accelgor. I had the core, a hazard setter so I added two random wallbreakers. Magmortar, and Banded Fraxure. So, here's to the in depth analysis of the team.

Mesprit @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Psyshock
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Healing Wish

So here's my wallbreaking set. Basically, with Mesprits fantastic coverage, it can take on a variety of walls. I put Healing Wish on there instead of another coverage move, just in case Feraligatr needed a Second Chance. That's about self explanatory

Lilligant (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Quiver Dance
- Sleep Powder

Here's the second part of my core, Lilligant. Lilligant is there, as not only a backup sweeper, but something to take out Feraligatr's counters. Lilligant takes out the bulky waters that Gatr Hates, while putting annoying counters to sleep such as Dragalge, etc. With HP fire, Lilligant can get past grass types after a Quiver while saving Lilligant against Vivillon.

Feraligatr @ Lum Berry
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 144 HP / 252 Atk / 112 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Ice Punch
- Aqua Jet
- Swords Dance

Here's the star of my core, Feraligatr. Gatr is such a powerhouse in NU, destroying anything short of dedicated counters. The set itself is self explanatory, Swords Dance to boost Gatr's attack to stupidly high levels, Waterfall for good STAB, Aqua Jet for Priority STAB and Ice Punch for Bulky Grass types. I chose Ice Punch over Return, because Bulky Waters are destroyed by Lilligant anyways, so I don't think they are a problem. Ice Punch is mainly to beat Vile Plume with an SD Up. The EV's are used to give Gatr respectable Bulk, while putting some speed investment to outspeed a few random things.

Accelgor @ Focus Sash
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Spikes
- Bug Buzz
- Encore
- Final Gambit

Here's my Hazard setter, Spike Stacking Accelgor. Accelgor is an excellent hazards setter, with Encore to stop set up sweepers, while Final Gambit to maintain momentum and maybe even whittle down a wall. Final Gambit really isn't there to do damage, but maintain momentum. Bug Buzz is obligatory STAB, hitting decently hard with a Modest Nature. I just really like Accelgor and I find that it fits well on my team.

Magmortar @ Expert Belt
Ability: Vital Spirit
EVs: 20 Atk / 236 SpA / 252 Spe
Rash Nature
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Earthquake
- Thunderbolt

Here's my other Wall Breaker, Ebelt Magmortar. Pyroar used to be here, but I found that Pyroar really didn't fit well. This set is really good, because of the wide variety of coverage it provides. Fire Blast for good STAB, and HP Grass to nail Seismatoeds that switch in, thinking I'm choiced. Earthquake is for fire types, and catches many special walls of guard. Thunderbolt rounds out this set, giving nice coverage on things like Mantine, which would otherwise wall this set.

Fraxure @ Choice Band
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Superpower
- Aqua Tail
- Dragon Claw

Here's my last pokemon, Banded Fraxure. Banded Fraxure hits stupidly hard, reaching an attack stat of 549 with a Choice Band. Outrage is good STAB, Dragon Claw for a second STAB and for my coverage moves, Superpower and Aqua Tail. Superpower nails steel types while Aqua Tail beats those annoying fire types for Lilligant. I was thinking of Poison Jab over Outrage, but I wasn't really sure.

Here's my team guys! I hope you like it, and leave your comments down below, and before I end this post I'll note some threats here.

Threats:

Scarfed Kanghaskan or Tauros: I swear, these things hit stupidly hard, and not much on my team can take a hit. Superpower nails them on the switch, but that's really the only way I get past these pesky threats

Crotomb: CroTomb shits on me without Banded Fraxure, and I have nothing that really can break through. If I waste Fraxure I'm pretty much screwed.

Slurpuff + Gatr: One of the best cores in NU, with proper support, I get wrecked by this core. I'm an NU Noob, and team support to help remedy this would be useful fwiens :].

Thanks so much guys! I hope you enjoyed this RMT and leave comments below.

Hi there! This is actually a pretty cool team. I like the offensive synergy of the pokemon, although your team's largest issue is definitely a lack of a reliable revenge killer. Your team thrives on offensive pressure, and should you let a single thing set up, it is immediatly gg for the rest of the match. Furthermore, I feel that your team is halted by Fraxure, since getting locked into a Dragon move this gen oftentimes means that you let the biggest threat in the tier, Slurpuff, get a free Belly Drum. As a result, Slurpuff is a major threat to the team. Outside of the fact that you can't revenge kill powerful sweepers, this is a pretty cool team, and I congratulate you for making a interesting HO team!

The easiest thing you can do is simply to replace Fraxure with All-Out Attacker Kangaskhan, which pretty much gets rid of all of your problems. Not only is Kangaskhan a great physical wallbreaker just like Fraxure, but its higher speed tier and amazing priority means that it lets little set up on it, and stops set-up pokemon. Slurpuff is no longer a threat as it is easily cut short by Kanga, much like other threats to your team in setup sweepers such as RD Ludicolo and SD Feraligatr. With this simple change, your team easily becomes far more solid, and overall becomes extremely reliable.

I would consider running Offensive Utility Crustle over Accelgor. Stealth Rocks are really needed for your team to pressure stuff like Eruption Typhlosion or Offensive Articuno, and can turn many of your HO Mon's 2HKO's into OHKOs. It helps EbeltMortar a lot more as well, as without SR Mortar really should be running LO for full power. Regardless, Crustle helps your team more because of its access to Stealth Rocks, as well as access to 2 great abilities. Sturdy lets it set up multiple layers, while Weak Armor gives it the opportunity to outspeed and set such up. Better bulk and utility make Crustle the optimal choice for your Hazards HO team, as it can set up more before you start bringing in your heavy attackers to pressure Rapid Spinners / Defoggers.
PS Item is really your choice. Mental Herb is the best for preventing Taunt users like Kricketune. Red Card is cool to stop buskenpass or getting off free damage. Passho and Charti let it set up more on common SR leads like Toad or Golem!

Minor Changes:
Mesprit: Dazzling Gleam > Energy Ball, as it deters Dark Types from attempting to switch in safely.
Feraligatr: Return > Ice Punch, with Hazards up, the SE attack on grass types like Plume isn't all that relavant, and as a result I feel that you can rely on Return more as it breaks through stuff like Lanturn or opposing Gatrs more.

Cool shit, hope this helps!

Hi there, this team isn't bad but it's kind of overlapping in terms of roles. Using LO Mesprit + Magmortar + CB Fraxure all on the same team is kind of redundant because they all serve the same purpose which is to break walls which ends up just taking up extra teamslots that could be used for more useful team members. Your mindset seems based around Spikes stacking HO so I would look into replacing two of them with Pokemon that can punish spinning / Defogging (personally, I'd ditch Mag + Frax, since the former's SR weakness is a bit hindering while the latter is pretty much a liability against teams with Slurpuff). I'd suggest using Scarf Rotom and Pawniard over them because they also help patch up this team's Speed issues, since you lack many ways to revenge kill sweepers or just generally fast mons like Swellow, so Rotom's Speed + Pawniard's Sucker Punch helps keep them in check.

Also Accelgor is kind of inferior to different leads like Crustle and Omastar on this team because it can't learn Stealth Rock; you're really gonna want SR on an HO because it's the most reliable entry hazard due to hitting Ground immune Pokemon as well. I think Red Card Crustle would fit best on this team because it prevents setup early game which you're kind of weak to. Oh and I don't think HP Fire is necessary on Mesprit because Lilligant can already lure Ferroseed--I would consider either Ice Beam or Dazzling Gleam over it (former hits Xatu and the latter hits Spiritomb).

Btw jsyk Soulgazer recently made a similar team which can be found here (pastebin) so you can look into that too if you want (and he can probably give some advice too!)

Scarf Rotom and Pawniard > Magmortar and Fraxure
Red Card lead Crustle > Accelgor
Ice Beam or Dazzling Gleam > HP Fire on Mesprit
Rotom @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate

Hi there sanjay2000, this is a pretty cool team you have here I really like the use of Healing Wish + dual set up sweepers it's really effective in the tier at the moment. Luckily both Brawlfest and Dat Blast have already given to you some great rates and I'm going to agree with the Kangaskhan and hazard setter change. I'm going to suggest a different hazard setter for you to test however, I think Focus Sash Omastar over Accelgor would be a nice addition to your team, it functions similarly to Crustle in the way that it sets up hazards early game and also gives you Stealth Rock which is widely regarded as one of the best moves in game for it's ability to greatly limit switch ins to various Fire, Flying, Bug and Ice types.

Omastar @ Focus Sash
Ability: Weak Armor
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Scald
- Ice Beam

Since your team supports set up Pokemon nicely and can often give something a second life I think you can afford to replace Lum Berry with Mystic Water on Feraligatr since getting statused is much less of an issue with Healing Wish support and will also give your Water type attacks a slight boost which is never a bad thing. Your team also has multiple Pokemon that lure out Ferroseed as well as a Fire type to deal with various Grass types so I also think you could test out Return over Ice Punch, this would give you a way to not only still damage Grass types but also gives you the ability to beat or severely weaken opposing Water types.

Feraligatr @ Mystic Water
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 144 HP / 252 Atk / 112 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Waterfall
- Aqua Jet
- Return

Anyway cool team dude hope I was able to help and good luck :]

Hey there solid team.

Lilligant can support your team with Healing Wish as well. With Life Orb and decent grass/fire coverage its a decent nuke, and if you get low on hp you can just healing wish another one of your pokemon to full. replacing giga drain with leaf storm and quiver dance with Healing wish will accomplish that. It might be decent at being a boosting sweeper but I feel like supports your team with Healing Wish better.

gonna echo New Breed here and say that Mystic water is a nice alternative to Lum Berry. With healing wish its not a problem getting status'd and against good players you can bluff the lum berry and they may just got for an attack over a status move.

I would also suggest Stealth rock on mesprit over energy ball if you dont go with the crustle set.

Thanks for the criticism guys! ^_^ I really appreciate it.

Brawlfest Thanks a lot for the criticism, I'm definitely gonna give Crustle a second chance :]. Also, for Kangaskhan, I think I'll use it, but it'll work even If I replace Mag right? Also, I like Energy Ball for Seismatoed. I'll put Dgleam over HP fire

Dat Blast Thanks to you too! with two Crustle suggestions I'm definitely gonna add Crustle. As far as pawniard goes, I don't think I'm gonna use it, but would rotom still be useful without Pawniard? In place of Magmortar obviously

New Breed Imma use Crustle over Omastar but thanks anyway! Also, I guess I'll put Mystic Water over Lum berry. And Return over Feraligatr.

chimpact I see what you're saying about the mystic water and I'll definitely try it out! Thanks so much :], Also, about Lilligant, that looks like fun :D

Changes:
Kangaskhan > Fraxure
Mystic Water > Lum Berry
Crustle > Accelgor
Rotom > Magmortar?
Return > Ice Punch
Dgleam > HP Fire
Healing Wish + Leaf Storm > Quiver + Giga Drain
