The crew: Diancie (Mega), Ferrothorn, Tentacruel, Latios, Rotom (Wash), Talonflame
One thing I like about this team is the fact that it doesn't possess a huge weakness to Stealth Rock; the only team member that does is Talonflame, and it is mostly just there to fill the slot. All other teammates are not weak to it.

Rock N Roll (Diancie) @ Diancite
Ability: Clear Body
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 32 Atk / 224 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Moonblast
- Diamond Storm
- Earth Power
- Protect
Man, that is one giant Diancie. Shame that it had to be that way.
Mega Diancie packs a powerful punch, and I like to use it against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting-types. It's my general go-to against weakened foes, as well as stalling out foes thanks to Protect. It works (at least in theory) well with Toxic Spikes; I wouldn't know, I never got the chance to test it out.
Unfortunately, it has a massive weakness to Steel types, as well as to various other types such as Water, Poison, and Ground. It somewhat rectifies its Poison weakness with Earth Power, but it needs the help of others to succeed, especially when Landorus and Starmie run amok.
Once Mega-Evolved, I like to switch it into moves like Stealth Rock and Toxic, as I can take advantage of Magic Bounce (note that in the latter case, I can stall out the foe with Protect).
SpineCrawler (Ferrothorn) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
Art is from Smogon, by the way.
It resists everything that Mega Dance is weak too (except for Ground, which is somewhat rectified with Power Whip). It also is the most commonly used lead on this team, setting up Stealth Rock and Leech Seed on suitable targets. It also serves as a check against Starmie, a relatively common Rapid Spin user, as well (but to a lesser degrees) as against Tentacruel, who is also fairly common as a Rapid Spinner.
Sadly, Fire-types and Fighting-types both love to prey on him, necessitating an appropriate counter. I found Tentacruel to be a suitable one, as it resists both types, can Rapid Spin, and set up Toxic Spikes.
I decided not to use a Rocky Helmet, as Ferrothorn will be sponging special hits and will need as much life as it can get.
Keldeo and Talonflame both share an Electric weakness, and it is crucial that Ferrothorn be ready to take these Electric hits (and hopefully not become Paralyzed in the process).
Acrueltent (Tentacruel) (M) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 240 HP / 244 Def / 24 Spe
Bold Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Scald
- Knock Off
It is used to a) Rapid Spin away any entry hazards, namely Stealth Rock to make way for Talonflame, and b) to act as a mixed wall of sorts, setting up Toxic Spikes whenever it can. To this end, it serves as a nice counter against enemy Fire-types (doesn't really matter which one, chances are any non-Talonflame Fire-type can be walled by Tentacruel).
Unfortunately, it doesn't really hard-counter anything noteworthy; opponents will likely switch to a team member carrying some sort of Ground-type move, and there is little Acrueltent can do to stop Rapid Spinners or most Defoggers. Its main job is to dodge Ground, Psychic, and Electric-types, set up Toxic Spikes, and use the chance to switch to something in anticipation of the opponent's move, Rapid Spinning whenever it can.
It also acts as a hard counter to Infernape, though Infernape is relatively uncommon and it could run Earthquake.
Psy Fly (Latios) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Roost
- Defog
It's fast, powerful, and can usually take down a Rotom by itself if Stealth Rock dealt some chip damage. It can force out Garchomp and other Dragon-types, as well as some Poison-types like Tentacruel. Fighting-types will also have a bit of difficulty trying to down Latios. Choice-Scarfed enemies locked into a disadvantaged move also presents a viable opportunity for Latios to come in if Latios can retaliate well enough.
Unfortunately, Tyranitar and Bisharp both can eliminate Latios with little problem, especially if Latios has just used Draco Meteor. To this end, Rotom-Wash can wall them and hit back with Will-o-Wisp and Hydro Pump.
Latios also acts as a Defogger in the event Tentacruel is unusable or unfeasible.
iWashU (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
Art is from Smogon, by the way.
This team member is pretty good at absorbing physical hits, especially with the aid of Will-o-Wisp. Volt Switch allows me to hit frail enemies that are weak to it (such as Talonflame, especially if it has eaten some Stealth Rocks), while switching to a teammate such as Diancie (if I anticipate a Roost after the aforementioned scenario). Rotom-W also acts as a good counter against Landorus-Therian that seems to be everywhere nowadays, as well as some types of Skarmory, Tyranitar, and Excadrill.
That being said, it is susceptible to Serperior, as Serperior isn't affected too much by Will-O-Wisp, resists all my moves (except for Pain Split), and can strike Rotom with Leaf Storm. Luckily, I have an answer for Serperior.
Wiwi (Talonflame) (M) @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- Swords Dance
- Roost
Talonflame has access to Flare Blitz and Brave Bird, allowing it to shred the likes of Ferrothorn, Serperior, Amoongus, Breloom, etc. It can also shred enemies such as Lucario and Keldeo, but care must be taken as both can deal massive damage if given the chance (courtesy of Stone Edge and Hydro Pump).
Its Stealth Rock weakness limits how often it can go in and out of combat, though Tentacruel and Latios both help keep Stealth Rock off the field. It is also susceptible to walling by Heatran, though Heatran can be eliminated by Rotom and Acrueltent.
I wrote this late at night, close to bedtime. Please excuse any grammar mistakes and any other annoyances you may find in this thread.
