Seeing through the screens

Hi smogon! CJorex here, with my UU RMT. This team is based around Cresselia setting up screens, creating a barrier for my sweepers to set up behind. This team also uses a few rarely-seen sets that I have found to my liking. Any suggestions are welcome!

Teambuilding Process:

I started off with a combination of Cresselia and Scrafty. I had seen another RMT that used Dual Screens to help setup sweepers, and as that team also used Scrafty I thought it would work for me.

I added Heracross as a second sweeper to support Scrafty. I saw the Swords Dance set in the "Underrated Movesets" section of Smog 22, so I was interested to try it.

I needed a Stealth Rock setter and secondary wall, so I chose Gligar. His Eviolite-boosted defenses hold the team together very nicely.

I added Magneton as a Steel type, to patch up a few weak spots in my defenses. I also decided to try the uncommon Sub+Charge Beam set.

Finally, I noticed a weakness to Fire and Water, so I put in CM Suicune to resist, and also as another attacker who benifits from dual screens.

Cresselia (F) @ Light Clay
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SDef
Bold Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Lunar Dance
- Psychic

Cresselia is the Dual Screens setter for this team. She provides invaluable support with her Dual Screens and is just about the backbone of this team. Without her many of my Pokemon would just be KO'd as they set up, but Cresselia stops this with her invaluable support. Of course you have your dual screens, and there is also Lunar Dance, which kills Cresselia but completely heals whoever comes in- great for thlose unwinnable matchups where she is just going to die. Psychic is to prevent her being Taunt bait, but the damage is so pitiful I'd rather replace it with another support move. Taunt completely wrecks Cresselia, and Mental Herb is not an option as she needs Light Clay for her screens.

Scrafty (M) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Hi Jump Kick
- Crunch
- Ice Punch

Scrafty is the first sweeper. He is terrific at setting up inside Dual sceens- after one dragon dance he can usually get a ko, which then sets of Moxie and a snowball of attack boosts. He already has great bulk, so Dual Screens helps him even more. There is not much else to say- he is one of the best sweepers inside Dual Screens.

Heracross (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Stone Edge

Heracross is my other sweeper. I found this set in the "Underrated Movesets" section of Smog 22, but it is so much better than you may think. Because everyone expects Scarf MoxieCross, they will try to burn it, only for me to use swords dance, and, with the Guts boost as well, absolutely smash through their team. He is a tad slow, but with as much power as he has I don't care. I love this set becuse it is both strong, and unexpected.

Gligar @ Eviolite
Trait: Immunity
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Roost
- Toxic
- Earthquake

My Stealth Rock setter and usually lead, Gligar, is probably the best pokemon on this team. His eviolite-boosted defences are already through the roof, but with Dual Screens as well they are high up in the clouds. Stealth Rock is needed on almost any team, Roost to heal, Toxic to cripple walls and Earthquake to not be Taunt fodder, although it has the same problem as Cresselia as being not nearly powerful enough. You may have noticed the ability Immunity on the moveset. With the new evasion clause, I couldn't use Sand veil, so I was left with Hyper Cutter or Immunity. The only common Intimidate user is Arcanine, and is pretty well handled by the rest of my team, so I chose Immunity, since it gives him an immunity (no pun intended) to the Toxic that all walls hate.

Magneton @ Eviolite
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 HP / 92 Def / 164 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Charge Beam
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Overshadowed by Big Brother Magnezone in OU, I prefer to use Magneton in the lower tiers. Mainly for his 11 resistences, the Sub+Charge beam set makes a pretty good wall with Dual Screens, especially with Eviolite. Substitute to avoid status, and Charge Beam to boost up. Thunderbolt and Hidden power Ice give BoltBeam coverage, rounding out the set.

Suicune @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Electric]

I needed a water-type to sponge my weaknesses to Water and Fire, and Suicune is the one. The Calm Mind set is great behind Dual Screens, boosting Suicune's formidable Special Defence while raising his offensive power. Hydro Pump is STAB, Ice beam for grasses and HP Electric for other waters and to provide Pseudo-BoltBeam coverage with Ice Beam.

I don't need HP Fire on Magneton as the only pokemon worth using it on is Bronzong, who OHKOs with Earthquake anyway. HP Ice is needed for the coverage
