I don't really know what this combination of walls and attackers is called (this is my first thread) but it's 3 attackers and 3 walls so I assumed semi-offensive is what I'd call it. This team doesn't use weather (which I despise -.-) and actually uses many lower tier pokemon just for the unexpected factor. Many teams these days will prepare for specific threats and walls and so using something out of the ordinary always helps. On to the team!
Bisharp @ Leftovers
Trait: Defiant
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 10 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Brick Break
This set is a pretty obvious bisharp set and is used more for the surprise factor over scizor. Again, scizor, being one of the best priority users, is over prepared for. A similar pokemon, bisharp, is very unexpected and can set up on many pokes with sub, forcing attacks or being able to SD. Brick break wins out over iron head because of coverage.
Gengar @ Black Sludge
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 6 SDef
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Disable
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
Gengar cores amazingly with bisharp and walls many things with its common sub disable set. Gengar comes in on walls and can usually get a sub up by using disable and the occasional prediction. Once a sub is attained this thing almost always is going to take something out. It's immune to bisharp's fighting and ground weaknesses, and when bisharp baits them gengar has any easy time switching in (many of these pokes are then walled by sub disable gengar)
Quagsire @ Leftovers
Trait: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SDef
Relaxed Nature
- Toxic
- Recover
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
Quagsire is my reliable tank. It's actually very bulky with only one weakness (covered by the rest of my team). Unaware allows it to switch in on setup moves and take hits like crazy. It cripples many sweepers with toxic and dragons with ice beam. Recover allows it to go on and on (unlike swampert phhshh)
Rotom-Mow @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 6 SDef
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Trick
DAT CHOICE SCARF ROTOM! This is a very underrated form of rotom that actually does alot of work in OU considering how ill prepared teams are for it. Leaf storm wrecks tons of things that would counter Rotom-W. This thing also counters many rain teams with it's duel water covering stabs. Volt switch, as usual, gets great initiative. HP fire is used to take down things like ferrothorn that try to wall it. Trick can hinder something I have trouble dealing with.
Heatran @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 6 Def
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power
- Roar
Heatran is just a monster of a spc wall. Heatran walls dragons excellently (which I need coming from the only steel type on the team) and can take fire hits with flash fire. It takes many hits with a 4 times resistance. This poke counters sun teams awesomely. Because it forces so many switches it is a great poke to have stealth rocks and roar on. Stealth rocks are needed on most good teams and roar allows for extra hazards damage as wells as not allowing predicted set up. Lava plume and earth power are for coverage.
Blastoise @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 6 Def
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic
- Yawn
Blastoise... probably one of my favorite pokes and most nostalgic. It plays the important role of spinner as well as rounding off defensive coverage. Yawn forces switches and can eventually force something to sleep (awesome). Yawn can also be used to predict switches into spin blockers and then spin on a predicted switch. Toxic is always just a great status to dish out and scald has a nice chance for a burn as well as stab and possible torrent boost.
This team has been working awesomely for me but definitely has some flaws (namely weak to haxorous). Any criticism and suggestions would be highly appreciated. Again this is my first ever thread so if I did anything wrong feel free to help me by leaving something right down below :) thnx for reading and suggestions
