Semi-Rain Dance Team (Standard)

This is a semi-rain dance team that I was trying for.

Deoxys-e @ Light Clay
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/82 Def/174 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Recover
- Taunt

Alright this lead foregoes the typical suicide lead. I wanted this lead to actually come in multiple times, so I dropped the Speed EVs and made it purely defence yet it has the speed to outrun all typical leads except for these typical leads: Ninjask, Electrode, Deoxys-S, and scarf Gengar. Being a semi-rain dance team this isn't actually unbenefical for electrode to set up rain dance which is more typical than sunny day. Provides easy set up for the rest of my pokemon.

Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Roar
- Calm Mind
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Electric]

This suicune allows me to help stop ninjask and a few other pokemon from using substitute. HP electric helps stop vaporeon and a few other pokemon that can wall it. Surf and calm mind are for sweeping purposes.

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Brick Break

Seeing how my team wastes a lot of turns on switching another sweeper wouldn't be benefical and this hits a ton of pokemon for powerful hits without having to set up. With rain dance and the screens it can come in multiple times.

Kingdra (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 180 HP/252 Atk/76 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Outrage
- Dragon Dance
- Rain Dance

The main power house of my team. LO waterfall under rain dance or LO outrage simply powerful. With stealth rock up it is even better at sweeping. Rain Dance is good as it can help kingdra itself, the other teamates and simply because it is one of the only good options.

Bronzong @ Damp Rock
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/128 Atk/128 Def
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spe) Iv: 0 Spe
- Rain Dance
- Stealth Rock
- Explosion
- Gyroball

Really it's only purpose is to set up rocks and rain, then proceed to explode. Decide to use gyroball as a final filler to at least hit some pokemon if they stat up too much.

Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Seeing as I have yet to cover scarfGar leads I need something to take it. This resists practically everything gengar typically has and forces trickscarfgar to retreat. Seeing as how I have no way to really cover dragon apart from kingdra HP ice is the preferred HP to use. Flash Cannon is for stab and neutral damage. Thunderbolt is for a realiable method to attack with electric damage. Since I already have an exploder I don't need explosion so Thunder under rain would work exceedingly well with the 100% accuracy. Plus 30% paralysis is a nice bonus.

Strategy: The main strategy is to get dual screens up, Stealth rock and rain dance for kingdra in order to sweep.

Final Note: Seeing how a lot of weather teams, trick room and baton teams seem to either work really well or utterly fail I wanted to try something that worked either well with or without the battle affector.

I think it would be more benificial to lead with bronzong rather than deoxys since you are not using it as a suicide lead, thus other deoxys will beat you to a taunt and set themselves up.

Bronzong, on the other hand, could use gyro ball (forth filler) and kill deoxys in one or two hits depending. This would stop other deoxys from setting up fully against you and you could save your deoxys for later when you could set up screens late game and go for your kingdra sweep.

Everything else looks solid but have you tried the LO suicune set? It is:

Suicune@ Life Orb
4 Hp 252 sp. atk 252 spd
timid/modest
Calm mind
Surf
Hidden Power [Electric]
Ice Beam

This set under rain would cause more damage than it already does since most teams lack an appropriate counter. Timid can kill celebi and Zapdos, two of the best suicune counters. Modest for extra kick.

Hope I helped.

Try Damp Rock and Rain Dance > Recover on Deoxys.

That sort of defeats the purpose to keep deoxys-s alive and turns it into a suicide lead.

If I did put bronzong out as a lead it would be a good way to counter deoxys-s leads, but opens it up for so many other things like infernape or gyarados taunts. Also some rotom leads like to use trick with choice specs which I really have no counter for. Deoxys-s is still probably the better lead. It can survive all attacks thrown at it if predicted correctly.

I'll try out the suicune idea as normally late game celebi and zapdos counter my suicune pretty badly.

Solid team, I was gonna say something about other Deoxys leading giving you trouble but it's fairly easy to predict the taunt first turn and switch and get something out the can take it and only let it get one move up. And you built Deoxys to come in multiple times, so I'm glad I thought it through before I said anything. If you really care about opposing screens Brick Break is always an option on Scizor, But if you don't it looks like a solid team.

I like Suicune with Rest instead of HP Electric. Anything that walls it gets Roared away, and it helps stops sweeps e.g. from the likes of Scizor and if need be, harder hitters like Lucario (though Suicune will take lots of damage). Magnezone has STAB electric moves.

Scarf Magnezone works really well with Explosion. It can replace Thunderbolt - your team has 2 Rain Dancers, Thunder should be a reliable STAB. THunder and THunderbolt seem like a waste together.

I think I will change pursuit on scizor with brick break. I have never really had any situation where pursuit was the better option. I've run into more screens than I have that chance to use pursuit.

I'll try out explosion over thunderbolt and see if I have more success than I am having now with the current form.

The first thing that stood out, was you having Brick Break AND superpower on Scizor. Scizor doesn't need both. I suggest getting rid of Super Power, and replacing it with something like

Scizor@Choice Band
142 HP/252 Atk/116 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
Technician

U-Turn
Night Slash/Pursuit
Bullet Punch
Superpower/Brick Break

This set allows you to take hits better, and gives you some more variety. Night Slash and Pursuit are for ghosts, and U-Turn is for a large amount of damage and scouting. Bullet Punch for STAB and priority, and Brick Break or Superpower for a fighting attack. I reccomend Brick break, as it can break the occasional annoying screens, and doesn't drop your Attack and Defense, but Super Power gets the KO on a lot of pokemon such as Tyranitar, Blissey, etc.

On Magnezone, Thunderbolt is better than Thunder, therfore you don't need Thunder as well. Thunder has less PP, and you always need Rain Dance up to be able to use it. Instead of Thunder, you could use Explosion. Pokemon with explosion can't be stalled, as an Explosion will kill almost any pokemon not resisting.

Good luck with your team. ^^
