Semi-Stall OU

This is my first 5th gen OU team. I have been testing it for a couple of weeks.

The Team:

Set Up Lead
545.png

Pendragon (Pendoraa) (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Spikes
- Megahorn
- Rock Slide

Pendoraa’s main purpose is to set up toxic spikes/spikes. With swarm and megahorn it can frequently gain a surprise KO.

Type Synergies
Fire: Garchomp, Burungeru
Flying: Skarmory
Psychic: Skarmory, Rankurusu
Rock: Garchomp

Revenge Killer
445.png

Chompy (Garchomp) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast

Garchomp is my revenge killer and physical sweeper. Fire blast is for steel types who might switch in on predicted outrages/dragon claws. Earthquake and outrage are for stab. Dragon claw is for situations where outrage would be too risky. A Naïve nature is being used instead of jolly to not weaken fire blast. I’m considering changing fire blast to fire fang.

Type Synergies
Dragon: Skarmory
Ice: Burungeru

Calm Mind Sweeper
579.png

Rankurusu (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 248 Def / 8 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Psycho Shock
- Focus Blast
- Calm Mind
- Recover

Standard calm mind set. Calm mind and proceed to sweep opposing team. With 8 speed EVs it outruns most other rankurusu who tend to use 4 speed EVs at most. Once set up it is very hard to KO.

Type Synergies
Bug: Pendoraa, Skarmory
Dark: Skarmory
Ghost: Skarmory

Special Sponge
593.png

Pringles (Burungeru) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SDef / 4 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Surf
- Shadow Ball

My only spin blocker and main special wall. Will-o-Wisp and Surf for more consistency than boil over. Shadow ball for stab and special defence drops. It can also wall physical threats such as tyranitar if burnt.

Type Synergies
Electric: Garchomp, Erufuun
Grass: Erufuun, Skarmory, Pendoraa
Ghost: Skarmory
Dark: Skarmory

Physical Wall
227.png

Kikuta (Skarmory) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 236 SDef / 20 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Brave Bird
- Roar
- Roost

Skarmory is this team’s physical wall. With special defense Evs and a careful nature it can also fair quite well against special attackers. Stealth rock instead of spikes is being used because it can be set up faster, is more efficient and pendoraa already has spikes.

Type Synergies

Electric: Erufuun, Garchomp
Fire: Garchomp, Burungeru

Sub-Seeder
547.png

Lakitu (Erufuun) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Mischievous Heart
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 196 SDef / 12 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Substitute
- Taunt

The weak link in this team. It sub-seeds and annoys very well but more often than not I find I’m not using it, it can’t switch in and it can’t set up.

Type Synergies
Bug: Pendoraa, Skarmory
Flying: Skarmory
Fire: Garchomp, Burungery
Ice: Burungeru

Thank you for reading. I'd greatly appreciate all help.

failry healthy weakness to any electric type special attack. Boltbeam wrecks you. Your lead pokemon needs to be doing more for your team than what its doing now.

I suggest you replace it with something like a tentacruel or hitmontop so that you can rapid spin effectively because hazards will quickly beat this team.

Something like
Tentacruel @ leftovers
Calm; 252 hp, 232 Def, 224 SDef
Toxic Spikes (really helps against opposing stall teams)
Rapid Spin
Surf
knock off/ hp electric (gyarados check)
will help your team by giving you a toxic spikes soaker and a rapid spinner at the same time.
----------

Garchomp just doesn't have much of a place on this team imo. He doesn't take hits all that well, and his resistances aren't really all that helpful. Something like a gliscor, imo, would be much more cohesive to the team.

Gliscor @toxic orb (ability poison heal)
Impish; 252 Hp, 200 Def, 56 Spe
Fling
Protect
Earthquake
Acrobatics
-You could even do a more defensive set than this, but this one can actually deal a good amount of damage if the opponent doesn't realize just how hard this thing can hit. Alternately because I plan to shift spikes onto skarmory, you can use this pokemon as your SR user. Hippowdon could also go into this spot to great results as well.
----------
I suggest a new set for skarmory simply because your current spikes user is bad. Give Sr to someone else and let skarmory be the amazing spike user that it is.

Skarmory @shed shell
Careful; 252 Hp/ 236 SDef./ 20 Spe
Spikes
Brave bird
Roost
Whirlwind
----------

Jellicent can be an okay special wall, but as a main one, it can be hurting. I prefer a much more mixed set, like 252 hp, 132 Def, 124 SDef with a sdef nature or something. However, since your not running a chansey/ blissey your spread is definately better for what you want except the nature which, imo should be something like calm. As for moveset, I see a problem. You have no way of stopping a pursuit scizor from coming in on a surf or even worse, a ferrethorn who can lay down all the hazards he wants. Hp fire would be great for them, but at the same time taunt jellicent can beat several walls and bulky waters without breaking a sweat. I reccomend scald (still have burn chance), recover, hp electric (gyarados check if you use hitmontop)/ hp fire/ taunt.

Whimsicott's set is too dependent on leech seeding. I run an encore/charm/leech seed/ sub whimsicott to great results. With hazards down there just isn't much a team can do against it.
----------

With these changes electric types can be a huge bother, which is why i would suggest a blissey/ chansey to wall bolt/beam, but i didn't want to compeltely remove half of the team.

Quick rate, you need more descriptions on your team. Add content and youll get more rates. Right now the team doesn't seem very cohesive, tbh.

Thank you BurtonEarny.
I'll try tentacruel but my main problem with him is he's weak to electric along with most of my team.
I've tested gliscor before without much success and without garchomp my team would be lacking a revenge killer.
Hippowdon sounds interesting because most of my team resist sand storm and my team doesn't have as much bulk as I would like.
If I do end up using tentacruel I'l swap to the suggested skarmory moveset.
I'll test an erufuun with leech seed/substitue/encore/stun spore (I like paralysis more than attack drops)
