Server full?

Hey guys! All day today, when I try to get on it says: Smogon university [500/500] or [500/507] (how does that work? o.0) or something like that,
and if you try to join with it's 500 +, it freezes shoddy! Why is usage so high? Or just a glitch?
 
Just wait it out. I've sometimes connected when it's full. It's just waiting for an opening to join in (like being on hold on a phone).
