Set 'em up

Intro:
This is my second RMT on Smogon. I have feel as I have matured as a player and I'm back for another UBERz RMT.

The general strategy behind this team is to knock out the lead then set-up and phase my opponents until I can I can finish the job with ekiller Arceus. There have been many changes with them team for example for a while I was running Darkrai instead of diagla. Needless to say it didn't work out to my favor, but this team so far has only shown a few weakness which I will discuss later.

@ Choice Scarf
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Fire Blast
- Spacial Rend
- Hydro Pump
I know the idea of leads is outdated, but I find this just being my default option. I can 2 hit K.O groudon, kyorge, and deoxys-N/A/S depending if they have the focus sash. Also the set covers ferrothon and defensive fortress sets with ease. Since I am running max speed+ scarf I can out speed every other dragon type in Ubers giving me an advantage. The only trouble I find is Grachoms running the haban berry and bulky latias. Overall it is essential part of my team thought most of the battle.

dp53-arceus-lv.x.jpg
@ Silk Scarf
Trait: Multitype
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- ExtremeSpeed
- Swords Dance
- Brick Break
- Shadow Force
Pretty mindless set. This is really the idea of a sweeper. I use it to clean-up my opponents team. I use to run recover instead of brick break, but since this was usually the last pokemon I sent out I needed something to finish up steal types when Plakia was dead or I was against Heatran.

giratina-summoned-cyrus.jpg
@ Dragon Fang
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Rest
- Outrage
- Dragon Tail
- Sleep Talk
This is my main phaser. Giratina takes unboosted hits like the great wall that it is. Rest allows me to cure any posin/burn/ toxic spike nonsense and keep phasing. It also allows me to use dragon tail first if my giratina is asleep and out speed which is a huge helper. I use dragon fang because doing my many test runs I found that leftovers rarely made the difference and I didn't want to take the damage from using life orb. So Dragon Fang was a happy medium since I am only running dragon type moves anyway.

deoxys2.jpg
(Deoxys-A) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4Atk

Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Stealth Rock
- Shadow Ball
- ExtremeSpeed
- Psycho Boost
Deoxys is really only on the to set up stealth rocks then hit hard. Not much to it.

dialga-roar_of_time-small.jpg
@ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Def / 200 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Draco Meteor
- Roar
- Aura Sphere

Plays a support role. Set up stealth rocks also. The double coverage of stealth rocks is handy as deoxys is quite frail and it doesn't always make sense to send it out just to get rocks up. Roar lets me phase how Substitute users and draco meteor slams dragon types when their users are unsuspecting.

205_400.jpg
(F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Volt Switch

Just here to help set-up and rapid spin. Pretty standard set IMO.

Some known problems.

I have come into a couple of rough patches though. Defense sandstorm teams just dominate this team. I personally have had a problem identifying My best guess is the use of steam types. In general steal types give me a lot of trouble. Another common threat to my team are bulky latias/latios sets. Palkia can't really take them out. Then by time I can get diagla in the game they have already done the calm mind thing and my only option is to use my -6 priority roar which it isn't fun taking that damage and leftovers isn't usually enough to recover from anything boosted latios/ latias can do. I also have trouble agaisnt teams that are based around darkrai. If I have to sleep fodder something early in the game it causes some trouble.

Thanks!!!

Well I think that for your sandstorm weakness, at least as far as Tyranitar goes, Superpower could be run over Stealth Rock on Deoxys-A, as using a support move on something that frail really seems like a waste of potential. Second, I think you need some weather of your own, as Sandstorm/Hail will break Deoxys-A's Focus Sash, making it extremely vulnerable to priority (eg Shadow Sneak from Giratina or Extremespeed from EK Arceus/Ghost-Arceus, etc). Therefore I suggest the standard Scarf Kyogre, as it pummels steel types with Water Spout, powers up Palkia's STAB Hydro Pump, and reduces Forretress' Fire weakness, easing setup. I suggest using Kyogre > Dialga and then replacing Volt Switch on Forretress with Stealth Rock, as the damage will basically be negligible though it will leave you set-up bait, but it's still not that bad anyway. I guess if you really wanted to just set up Stealth Rock with Deoxys, you could run Deoxys-S, which I've found to be highly useful, and then abuse entry hazards with phazing from Giratina-A. OK, and lastly, one thing to deal with Lati@s, but I'm not really sure where to fit it, would be Scarf Zekrom. Most people leave their Lati@s on the assumption that Zekrom is mix/banded, only to be OHKOd by a supereffective Outrage/Dragon Claw.

So... changes:
Scarf Kyogre > Dialga
Stealth Rock > Volt Switch on Forretress
Superpower > Stealth Rock on Deoxys-A

Consider...
Deoxys-S > Deoxys-A (this is my set, but tweak it as you deem fit)
Scarf Zekrom somewhere in there...

Kyogre @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Water Spout
- Ice Beam
- Thunder
- Surf

Zekrom @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Teravolt
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Bolt Strike
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Volt Switch

Deoxys-S @ Focus Sash
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Taunt
- Fire Punch

The team needs some form of weather control, rain naturally fits this team and a RestTalk SDef Kyogre complements the team excellently, taking on the CM Arceus that the other Pokemon struggle with (especially CM Ghostceus). Giratina should really just be using Roar and Dragon Tail with Leftovers (how can you not notice the value of Leftovers in mitigating residual and hazard damage). Deoxy-S doesn't fit at all so Kyogre can replace that just fine.

Kyogre
move 1: Rest
move 2: Sleep Talk
move 3: Scald
move 4: Roar
item: Leftovers
ability: Drizzle
nature: Calm
evs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SDef

Put Outrage over Fire Blast on Palkia, as it allows you to revenge kill even +6 Latias. Use Fire Blast on Dialga over Aura Sphere, as it allows you to OHKO Ferrothorn outside of rain, and OHKO Forretress.

I was having the same suspicions about deoxys and thought that if I had to replace anything he would be the one. They kyorge change makes complete sense. I totally neglected that drizzle would benefit Pakia's hydro pump and protect fortress. That alone seems like it would clear up a lot of problems. I like what diagla does for my team, so I will probably try both but in theory replacing deoxys makes a lot more sense to me.

Also outrage be fine to use on an invested Palkia or do I need to change my EV spread?
