Setup and Stall

Hi smogon players i wanted to show you my setup and stall team. I am currently using it online and it needs a lot of work. I am open to suggestions as long as you say them nicely. This team focuses on setting up stealth rock and spikes and then having my star staller come in and whirlwind the snot out of opponents. Then once my opponents are all weakened i bring in my Revenge Killer to sit there and laugh while doing damage. It has a lot of flaws though and i cant quite put my finger on a lot of them.

I started out with this duo because i knew that between the two of them one of them would manage to set up the stealth rocks. The main problem is they both share a fighting and water type weakness.

I then added these two because they both can set up spikes and ferrothorn covers the water weakness and Scolipede covers the fighting weakness. Still i currently have three pokemon weak to fighting types......

I know i keep adding these guys who are weak to fighting. My team is heavily unbalanced but this guy does a good job revenge killing.

I know i know one fighting type move could crush five of the guys on my team. This guy is the bulkiest one i could think of that can use whirlwind though so i stuck too my guns and went with it.

In Depth Team:

248.png

Tyranitar
Leftovers
252 hp, 56 def, 252 sdef,
Impish
Sand Stream
MOVESET:
Stealth Rock
Stone Edge
Earthquake
Dragon Tail

This is my original defensive T-tar set. He is also now my lead. With the E.V.s he has 297 def, and 286 sdef. Combine that with 404 hp and you got a tough opponent to defeat even with super effective moves. He is my second Stealth Rocker in case mamoswine is at a disadvantage in leading. he sets up rocks and then his options open. If he has enough hp then he just sits there and dragon tail spams the opponent. If he doesnt but can get one more hit in then he either EQs or Stone Edges

Ferrothorn
Iron Barbs
Leftovers
252 hp, 132 def, 124 sdef
Sassy
Moveset:
Leech Seed
Spikes
Protect
Gyro Ball/Leech Seed

I switched back to this guy because i can rely on him very much. He works well and covers some weaknesses.

Cofagrigus
Leftovers
Calm
Levitate
252 hp, 56 def, 200 sdef,
Moveset:
Hex
Rest

Destiny Bond

This guy is my new spin blocker. I switched from froslass because froslass was just to fragile for me and could not manage to put up the spikes.

name: Garchomp
move 1: Dragon Claw
move 2: Swords dance
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Protect
item: Leftovers
nature: Jolly
ability: Sand Veil
evs: 252 HP / 76 Def / 120 SpD / 60 Spe

This set reccomended by nijaskills. I picked my moves and changed one of them to a moveset that i knew. This is my late game sweeper to come in and pound opponents. Protect when need to and swords dance for boosts.

Starmie
Natural Cure
252SAtk, 240Spd, 18HP
Life Orb
Timid
~Rapid Spin
~Hydro Pump/Boiling Water
~Thunderbolt/Recover
~Psycho Shock

This is my new rapid spinner. I had a cleric here but the cleric just wasnt doing what i wanted it to do. I also noticed more spikes and rocks being used against me so to starmie i went.

Skarmory @ Leftovers/Shed Shell
Nature: Impish
Ability: Sturdy
252 HP/252 Def/6 SpD
~Taunt
~Roost
~Brave Bird
~Whirlwind

My backup taunter and a good whirlwind guy. He can handle a lot and cause issues for my opponents. Brave bird is there for late game when i need some good damge in. Roost for recovery.

This is my team as you can tell it needs work. I am open to any suggestions as long as you say them NICELY examples of this are:

MEAN: You retard i can already see a big weakness on your team. FIGHTING TYPES. You are so stupid for not noticing that

Nice: Ok so your team has a huge fighting type weakness so here are some possible replacements.

See big difference. If you are mean i will just ignore your post.

Well first of all yes you have a fighting weakness, it is huge. Anyone who carries a standard bulk up conkeldurr with some spD investment or not can tear this team up. I would suggest possible a skarmory somewhere in here as he has access to whirlwind for conkeldurr and brave birde late game. I see your snorlax does but after a bulk up drain punch the conkeldurr will have a ton of its HP back and can make you switch into your snowlax every single time it comes out and snorlax should not be doing that.

Also ingrain on Ferrothorn usually 9 out of 10 times will hurt you more than it helps, especially with the fighting wekaness, I do know what you are trying to do though.

That's just off the top of my head.

Yeah, fighting type weaknesses. NOT a good thing in a this metagame. I have a few suggestions:
1. Replace Snorlax. There are many many many better phazers out there. Skarmory, Latias, Vaporeon, they all work much better. Vaporeon has Wish, and water absorb to try to handle rain abusers, so it's probably best.
2. Find a spinblocker. Any good stall team needs a spinblocker, and it gives you a Fighting immunity. Maybe replace Weavile with Scarf Gengar. Other options are Jellicent (water resist) and Froslass (spikes, replace Scolipede)
3. BulkyChomp.
name: Chomp Tank
move 1: Stealth Rock / Dragon Claw
move 2: Dragon Tail
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Protect / Aqua Tail
item: Leftovers
nature: Jolly
ability: Sand Veil
evs: 252 HP / 76 Def / 120 SpD / 60 Spe
Replace one of your SR users with it. I'd suggest Mamoswine, as Garchomp likes the sand that Ttar gives you. This way you get more phazing, and a way to set up SR.

Having spikes/stealth rocks on more than one pokemon is not the smartet moveplay, yet cautious.

a simple round up of suggestions-
+Scolipede=Toxic Spikes
+Ferrothorn=Spikes+Leech Seed
+(I would suggest getting rid of Mamoswine.. to somewhat less frail and not weak to fighting)
+Tyranitar=Stealth Rock+Substitue+Dragon Tail+Crunch
(I also suggest swapping out Snorlax and Weaville for more pokemon to be based around stall)

Steel types can be big dissapointment to stall teams, try adding Magnezone for this :)
Magnezone@Air Balloon+Magnet pull (Im sorry i dont remember the Evs)

Reuniclus@Leftovers
Modest
Magic Guard
252 Hp/ 252 SpA
~Calm Mind
~Psychic
~Shadow Ball/Focus Blast
~Recover/Focus Blast

THis guy can cover your fighting weakness quite well and provide an offensive power to your stall team.
A Bulky water could nice for your team as well :) Good Luck

k i changed almost the entire team. the only one i kept was T-tar. I added skarm, reunicles, chomp, froslass(probably going to replace with rotom-h),and originally added celebi as a cleric but it just wasnt working so i changed to a rapid spinner starmie.

RMT Rules said:
3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.
Your descriptions are lacking, which puts you in violation of the rule above. Please elaborate more on each team member - about 3 or 4 solid sentences per member is a good goal to reach for. The RMT archive contains some examples of well-written RMTs. If you fix your descriptions, PM me with the updates and I'll be happy to unlock your thread.
