ORAS OU Setup Provoker

I wanted to make a team that punishes the opponent for using setup moves (hazards, stat buffs) while provoking them to do these types of moves. Once they are widdled down enough I will bring in a poke to sweep.

Thought Process
victini.gif
I actually knew I wanted to start the team with the sweeper in mind. Victini was what I was using from my other team and it wrecks almost everything in OU (bar Heatran) in two hits.So that is where I started. Another reason why I choose Victini is...

victini.gif
ferrothorn.gif
Ferrothorn. The best hazard setup/in general annoying pokemon in OU. Its absurd how many people run flamethrower on random pokes just to get rid of this guy. This makes it really easy to predict what the opponent does too. With his versatile set up he can annoy the opponent into doing what you want really easily + he covers Victini's water/ground/rock weakness just as Victini cover's his fire weakness. I also made him to color red to make the opponent think more rashly about their decisions (a proven psychological effect).

Ok well obviously Ferrothorn isn't enough to stop strong ground/water types so I needed another poke and another annoying one at that.

skarmory.gif
Skarmoray is another must for a hazard build. It can take a hit of anything thanks to sturdy and get rid of setup sweepers with whirlwind. It can also set-up spikes and taunt other pokemon who try to set-up against you and is pretty fast. It covers the ground weakness I was talking about. It also does ok against fighting types which Ferro has a hard time against as does Victini.

Still there is a weakness to water that I have to address. I also need to worry about dealing with Heatran. At this point I am using common pokemon in OU and I want to be able to trick my opponent with this team. I choose...

victini.gif
ferrothorn.gif
skarmory.gif
jellicent-female.gif
Jellicent. Neither a common or uncommon pokemon and this works to my advantage. Because it is still used occasionally I can trick people with a unique moveset. This is a choice scarfed special defensive Jellicent. Not only can it take hits from Heatran/Volcanion (which you see on almost every team), but it can take a shadow ball from Gengar. Jellicent cripples any set-up pokemon because of trick and tied with Skarmoray's taunt it give my team a hudge advantage to in set-up wars. It can also weaken pokes with specs or band. Jellicent is also imperative to have against rapid spin.

With the edition of Jellicent I need to worry about Dark/Ghost types because now I have 2 pokes weak to those types. Also electric types because I have another 2 weakness to those.

lopunny.gif
Since I still had room for a mega, Lopunny was a must. It is a ghost/dark destroyer and it takes out Landorus who is also annoying to my team. The hit combinations of Lopunny and Victini are really nice too and Lopunny hurts Heatrans who I mentioned was a problem.

I really hate volt-switch/t-wave so I needed a ground type.

With my only speed being Lopunny I am worried about certain set-up sweekers braking me if Skarmory dies so I added scarfed Landorus-T. He works well with my defensive pokes allowing them to take more hits if I u-turn about and has just a really strong typing for the weakness on my team. Only being weak to water and ice he is already very well covered.

If there are bulky water type on the enemy team it is important to save the trick scarf for them/save Victini or Ferro to fight them.

I feel like the team is good, but I am overlooking something as I haven't done many battles with it yet.. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Here is the Team Magma page for type coverage
Here are some replays of what the team is supposed to do

This is definetly a nice, balanced team. There are a few ways I'd like to tweak the team a bit, but it's a pretty solid team overall
Run Standard Jellicent over Trick + Scarf
Trick + Scarf is a neat way to deal with stall, but Standard Jellicent can achieve the same result through taunt. And while Trick + Scarf seems good on paper, it doesn't work unless the pokemon can actually use the scarf before it tricks it to another opponent. And Jellicent is just as crippled by scarf as other pokemon are, as it can't run Will-O-Wisp or Taunt, two of it's best moves. I feel like it's an effective spinblocker/water counter, but this version will be much more effective at breaking stall and stopping physical attackers.

Change your Ferrothorn's EV Spread & Set
Running Max Defense on Ferrothorn isn't as useful as running a combination of Sp. Def EVs and Def EVs. This set will allow you to tank both physical and special hits better overall. I also changed Gyro Ball to power whip to better deal with Rotom-W and Quagsire, who can wall a lot of your team due to your lack of special attackers.

Change your Skarmory Set and EVs
You should NEVER run four status moves on a pokemon. It makes them completely taunt-bait. Having taunt on your Skarmory isn't nessesary, especially after I added it to Jellicent, so I swapped it for Iron Head to kill faries and as an attack. I also changed leftovers to Rocky Helmet, as I feel it helps defensive Skarmory by punishing physical attackers

Change Scarf Landorus-T to Specs Keldeo
You're team was SEVERELY lacking in special attackers, the only one being Jellicent. Instead of slapping a scarf on Landorus-T, I decided throwing a pair of glasses on one of the strongest special attackers in the metagame. Your team already had ample ways of stopping set-up, from Taunt Jellicent to Whirlwind Skarmory, you shouldn't have a problem with it. What you do have a problem with is pokemon like Heatran, Weavile, and Tyranitar. Keldeo can stop all of them through sheer force, and break through physical walls like Quagsire that plague your team as well.

I nearly almost didn't see your thought process link lol, anyways your team is very interesting and unique but i think there are some things to fix on the team.

Jellicent,i dont really understand the purpose of it on the team i would change it to starmie so you dont have to run that redundant haxard stack+defog starmie also helps your matchup vs keldeo.

Hmm I didn't really think about Jellicent crippling itself with scarf. It's worked well so far, but you could be right.

Yes I was having some trouble with Quasiremire and I can see why rotom could be a problem. I really don't like the accuracy on power whip though, maybe there is another alternative to this problem...

Skarmory with iron head is probably a good switch since I don't have much against fairy type besides defense.

I def don't agree with Keldeo though. Landorus hurts weavile with scarf and prevent electric type sweeps, Keldeo is hurt by electric just as much as Jelicent and Skar.

Well Jelicent avoids rapid spins and is good against Keldeo so idk what your saying.

The reason I suggested Keldeo is mainly due to the fact that you have no way to beat physical walls. All of your attacking pokemon are physical, so your team has tons of problems with pokemon like Hippodown, Quagsire, and Rotom-W. Power Whip somewhat remedies that problem, but these pokemon still wall your team. I tried to avoid touching Victini because you clearly like the set, but one solution would be to run mixed victini. It's great at catching opponents off when they send in pokemon like Quagsire or Hippodown to take the hit.

I really do reccomend you run this set or Keldeo, or you will have problems with physical walls.

I think taking a ground type away from the team just hurts it more than anything else could help. I'll try mixed Victini it is definitely tricky since I have never seen it, I'll also look into some ground type special attackers (sadly Landorus is in übers now... he was my original plan)

EDIT: After some testing I allowed some minor changes
Power Whip on Ferro and split def
Energy Ball on Jellicent
