[SET COMMENTS]
Sheer Force Mewtwo is an excellent wallbreaker with its strong Life Orb- and Sheer Force-boosted Psychic and coverage moves while not being Choice locked, limiting its counterplay options. Earth Power hits most Steel-types such as Melmetal, Zamazenta-C, and Solgaleo super effectively. Focus Blast is a stronger option that can OHKO Melmetal while hitting Dark-types like Umbreon, Incineroar, and Tyranitar. Focus Blast is also Mewtwo's strongest option to hit bulky Normal-types like Snorlax and Type: Null, 2HKOing both. Quiver Dance allows Mewtwo to outspeed faster offensive threats like Zacian-C and Zeraora and also allow it to muscle past very bulky checks like Ice Scales Pokemon such as Solgaleo and Umbreon. Blue Flare is an alternate coverage move that is almost as powerful as Psychic, with the extra power being notable for 2HKOing Mandibuzz and OHKOing Zacian-C. Mewtwo is also a capable hazard setter considering that it forces many switches and defeats most Magic Bounce users. A Timid nature is necessary to Speed tie with Eternatus and outspeed Zamazenta-C.
Mewtwo pairs well with strong physical wallbreakers that threaten the special walls that can potentially switch in against this set, such as Ice Scales Snorlax and Ice Scales Mandibuzz. In return, Mewtwo can take advantage of the physical walls like Fur Coat Seismitoad and Melmetal. Choice Band or Poison Heal Zamazenta is an amazing partner, as it breaks past the aforementioned bulky Normal- and Dark-types, as well as breaking through Steel-types that could potentially take a hit from Mewtwo. Zamazenta also baits in Poison-types like Eternatus and Toxapex for Mewtwo to take advantage of. Zacian-C is another great partner that threatens special walls and Dark-types, checks offensive Pokemon that outspeed and can KO Mewtwo like Zeraora and Galarian Darmanitan-Z, and absorb Knock Off. Depending on the moveset, Pokemon such as Levitate or Magic Bounce Darmanitan-Z, Ice Scales Mandibuzz, Imposter Wobbuffet, and Flash Fire or Magic Bounce Celebi can Imposter-proof Mewtwo, preventing Imposter users from counter-sweeping the team or setting up Spikes. Other defensive Pokemon like Melmetal, Zamazenta-C, and Fur Coat Seismitoad can check threatening offensive Pokemon that outspeed Mewtwo including Zeraora, Galarian Darmanitan-Z, and Zacian-C, take moves like Knock Off and Spectral Thief, and provide Mewtwo with slow pivoting to bring it in safely.
