Introduction:

With the new generation some Pokémon that was forgotten won some brand new things as typing and moves that made their usage grows up and made them one of the bests Pokémon in the OverUsed Metagame.

My objective when was building this team was to use Weezing and Aegislash, Weezing can help a lot in the actual Metagame, and I would like to try it as a team mate of one of the best, if is not even the best, Pokémon of the new generation, Aegislash. I thought about it a long time and realised that they have a nice coverage together.

When I realised that, I thought about a theme for the team. And I came up with an ideia of remmember my childhood and the animes that I've watched. It came up at my mind: Shaman King. Aegislash is a sword, so I can compare it with Harusame, the Amidamaru's Sword and Weezing is the one that covers and protects his swords of everything, Amidamaru.

I had the ideia of the team and the theme that I was going to use, so I've tried to figure out what fits better with these two Pokémon that I was pretending to use.

The Team:

Amidamaru (Weezing) (M) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SpD
Bold Nature

- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
- Clear Smog
- Flamethrower

Weezing is an essential part of the team, he manages to help against a lot of threats like Mega Mawile and Mega Heracross. Levivate is and incredible ability for Weezing, which makes him able to switch-in in a lot of ground-type moves and Pokémon which usually would be scary for an normal poison-type like Landorus Therian, Garchomp, Excadrill, Hippowdon and Mamoswine, leaving them in a horrible situation to deal with Will-O-Wisp, one of the moves that Weezing has. In this situation Weezing can help the team by reducing an opponent attack or just giving a free burn to cause some residual damage and also forcing the opponent to switch-out and take some hazards damage if they are on the field. Besides that, Weezing can also work as a great check of Mega Scizor, Mega Venusaur and Amoongus.

Weezing has an amazing movepool, which helps a lot for him to be flexible depending on the team that he is used, in this team, I've chosen this moves for giving more coverage and also help against some threats. Will-O-Wisp is for dealing against physical attackers and ground-types, which weezing can switch-in and scare the opponent or give him an eventual burn that cut his attack in half. Pain Split is used to help Weezing to be more time on the field. Clear Smog is his STAB move and it was chosen because it helps a lot against Magic Guard Clefable and some other set-up Pokémon. Flamethrower is here to give coverage and to deal with some steel-type Pokémon like Mega Mawile, Ferrothorn and Scizor.

Harusame (Aegislash) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 236 HP / 252 SpA / 20 Spe
Modest Nature

- Substitute
- King's Shield
- Toxic
- Shadow Ball

With the new generation, it brought one of the best Pokémon of the Metagame, Aegislash. Which also is the reason why I am doing this RMT. This could be the last days of Aegislash in the OU Metagame and I'd like to share with you this great time that I've made with it.

Aegislash shows himself as a versatile Pokémon. Having as it's signature move the move King's Shield, and specie of protect that makes the opponent have a -2 drop in the attack stat if he uses an contact move. King's Shield also permits Aegislash uses his ability: Stance Change. Which changes following the way how Aegislash battle. Aegislash's principal function in the team is protect it from Mega Medicham, Mega Gardevoir and also Mega Heracross if it is needed, and this happens because of Aegislash's great typing. King's Shield helps a lot against every king of Pokémon, as a protecting move with the objective of just protecting or dropping the opponent attack, and as a way to recover his deffensive stats, that's why is so essential in this Aegislash. Shadow Ball acts as one of his best STAB move, taking damage of everthing even the Pokémon that doesn't have weakness to the ghost-type. Toxic is used to give some vantage to Aegislash against some Pokémon that usually would check him, like, Chesnaught, Mandibuzz and Zapdos. Substitute protects Aegislash of some secondary stats as burn, which King's Shield don't do, and it makes Aegislash stall his opponents for more time with the Substitute + King's Shield + Toxic combo.

azumarill_by_kaitlynclinkscales-d4m0si9.png

Manta (Azumarill) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Scald

- Toxic
- Protect
- Perish Song

Another Pokémon with received an increasement in his usage in the new generation, this is the time for Azumarill. With the new generation, Azumarill received the amazing new type, the fairy-type. Which makes him more resistant and more scary for the other Pokémon. However, in this team I've tried to do a new to use Azumarill, I've searched and found that Azumarill has Sap Sipper as one of its ability, and the team was needing an special Pokémon to cover the weakness of the Team, which was Mega Charizard Y. With Sap Sipper, I can switch-in or stay in the SolarBeam of Mega Charizard Y and use Toxic/Perish Song/Scald to deal with ocasionally with Chansey to recover the HP.

Scald was chosen because it needed some STAB move that can do an ocasional damage in some Pokémon and try out for the burn when the opponent doesn't have a switch-in for Azumarill. Toxic is used to help Azumarill to deal with some eventual Pokémon that this sets doesn't win against, so it can do a residual damage and help the rest of the team to deal with that Pokémon. Perish Song is to stop some set-up Pokémon, as Charizard X, and it can work out with Toxic too, forcing the opposing Pokémon to switch out can also help if there is some hazards on the opponent's field. Protect is here to discover and to be careful against specific Pokémon, it can also help when the opponent Pokémon is poisoned and forces him to take more residual damage from the poison.

hippowdon_and_tyranitar_by_yilx-d3bg1ua.jpg

Yoh (Hippowdon) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Force
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock

- Slack Off
- Toxic
- Earthquake

Hippowdon has always been a great Stealth Rock setuper, it is one of his functions on this time, as well as check Mega Charizard X and Bisharp. Hippowdon has a great defense stat and a typing that actually helps a lot in this team, he can actually deal with Mega Manectric, Raikou and Zapdos if it is needed to.

Earthquake is one of the best moves of the Metagame and is actually the best STAB move that Hippowdon learns, it helps against some offensive Pokémon like Excadrill and some other to even do a bit of damage. Toxic is necessary to help Hippowdon to deal with some Pokémon that he usually would lost against it, like Landorus Therian and Zapdos. Stealth Rock helps a lot the team, it is a stall team so the opponent need to do a lot of switches in the middle of the battle to manage the situation, and with Stealth Rock in the opponent field the opponent will suffer with some residual damage in every switch that he does. Slack Off is Hippowdon recovery move, used for giving more time to Hippowdon on the field and even to win against some opponents if they are poisoned.

chansey_by_kaitlynclinkscales-d5pkly5.png

Anna (Chansey) (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 44 HP / 216 Def / 248 SpD
Bold Nature

- Wish
- Soft-Boiled
- Toxic
- Seismic Toss

Chansey is actually one of the bests walls in the game at the moment, her function in this team is to give support to the other members of the team especially to Azumarill and Aegislash which doesn't have a recovery move. Softboiled is if you need to recover your HP at this moment. Wish can act as a recovery move for Chansey or to give support to other member of the team. Seismic Toss is the best move to make Chansey do some damage to the opponent. It act causing an specific damage to the opponent which helps because we don't have to waste EVs in her attack stat. Toxic is for helping against some threats that can be a problem in the future, so the best way to deal with it is to make it have some residual damage every turn to make it more easy to defeat.

skarmory_by_musicalcombusken-d72wrlw.png

Ren (Skarmory) (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 16 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

- Spikes
- Counter
- Defog
- Roost

Skarmory is one of the responsables for the physical defense of the team, it helps against some physical attackers while it can put hazards on the enemy field making switch out more damaging than usual. Spikes is another hazard move that works with Stealth Rock, making the opponent have a harder switch while is suffering with a lot of residual damage that the hazards do.

Counter is for dealing with some threats that can hit hard on Skarmory and her STAB would not do anything. Counter is normally used against Pokémon like Dragonite and Bisharp. Roost is to help Skarmory to stay more time in the battle, and it can actually get a lot of free turns to use it during the battle. Defog is used with the objective to clean the field of all hazards, it is only used in extreme situations because the hazards in the opposing fields helps a lot my team.

Hey Miles Tails, amazing team you have here!

The only weakness I really see is Landorus, as Chansey and Azumarill aren't reliable answers against it, as Knock Off variants can remove Chansey's Eviolite, and Azumarill has a good chance of being 2HKOed by Earth Power if it tries to switch in. This is why I suggest you try to replace Azumarill with a Specially Defensive Rest Talk Gyarados. Gyarados will cover all of the threats that are currently stopped by Azumarill (Keldeo, Greninja, Charizard Y), while being a great Landorus-I counter and a great Heatran switch-in. You also already have Weezing to spread burns so I don't think you will miss Scald, and Roar performs roughly the same phazing role that Perish Song performs on Azumarill.

gyarados.gif

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Spe / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Waterfall
- Roar
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Landorus Earth Power vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Azumarill: 188-224 (46.6 - 55.5%) -- 99.6% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Protean Greninja Ice Beam vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Gyarados: 118-140 (30 - 35.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Landorus Psychic vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Gyarados: 110-130 (27.9 - 33%) -- 95.7% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Mega Charizard Y Solar Beam vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Gyarados: 110-130 (27.9 - 33%) -- 94.6% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

As you can see, Gyarados can switch into the aforenmentioned threats with Stealth Rock in play, always avoiding the 2HKO and proceeding to heal off the damage with rest, performing as an effective special wall, while Azumarill falls to Landorus.
Anyway, let me know what you think about the above suggestion; I still think this team is super cool as it is, as stall teams that use underrated pokemon while still being effective are really rare these days, and Weezing fits this team amazingly (for example, Mega Heracross is usually a nightmare for stall and Weezing makes it a non-issue if played correctly, ecc). Nice job!

Thank you for the feedback, Landorus really can be a problem if it brings Knock Off in his moveset, but what I've really appreciated in your feedback was the suggestion of Gyarados with this moveset and spread , which can be a great switch-in Pokémon for Landorus and it also do the same job as Azumarill but with a recovery move. Thank you so much for the feedback.

I've been trying out Mega Tyranitar on Hippowdon's spot. It can help me out against Talonflame in a better way and I can even use Pursuit against Latios/Latias, and also gives me a switch to Aegislash which helps me a lot.

Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 12 Atk / 16 Def / 44 SpA / 184 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Pursuit
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam
