Shellos is spreading it's sticky slime all over the LC. Shellos is blessed with good defenses complemented with a great ability in Sticky Hold preventing foes like Mienfoo knocking it's Eviolite off which helps retaining it's defensive capabilities further boosting it's potential. It provides the utility to set up hazard via Stealth Rock which disrupts foes such as Torchic and Vullaby. Earth Power blasts off foes such as Alolan Diglett, Mareanie and Torchic. Ice Beam eases Shellos's match up against enemies such as Vullaby, Mudbray and Toedscool. Recover provides Shellos with an stable recovery option allowing it to stay more time on the battlefield. Tera type of Poison helps Shellos get around it's weakness from Grass-type attacks from foes like Foongus. Shellos is one of the only few viable mono Water-types in LC and it is serves as a Fire-resist for teams threatened foes such as Torchic which otherwise blasts through it and also serves as a hazards spreader for teams while being a solid defensive pokemon overall. Shellos appreciates help from Mienfoo which knocks off Eviolite from foes which increases Shellos's damage output in return Shellos threatens foes such as Vullaby and Mudbray which trouble Mienfoo. Alolan Sandshrew is another ally which takes out foes like Foongus which threaten Shellos while also providing hazard removal via Rapid Spin.

  • Shellos isn't quad weak to grass, its pure water
  • I think sticky hold probably deserves a mention somewhere, and probably a line about checking otrchic offensively as its basically the only reason shellos gets use.
  • Line about Foongus being a good partner for shellos can probably be deleted - its on shellos most popular team but more of a reslut of fighting resist options with it beling limited
  • Probably rework 2nd sentence to something like sticky hold with solid defenses helps it be a good mon

Implemented.

I can mark this as done, but frankly there seems to be a dearth of content here. A lot of what is said here is either dex info or redundant, and the character count post-edits is under 900. For example:

...this helps Shellos retain its defensive capabilities, which further boosts its potential.
- This is just dex info and is implied by Eviolite staying held.
Recover provides Shellos with a stable recovery option, allowing it to stay in longer.
- This entire sentence is dex info; it's literally just describing what Recover does. I would normally cut out this entire sentence (and the preceding section) but it would leave this spotlight way too short.
Shellos appreciates help from Mienfoo, which removes Eviolite from foes which increases Shellos's damage with Knock Off.
- I actually went ahead and cut this one, but the damage increase from a lack of Eviolite is also dex info.

AhmedxWaleed Hacker is there anything else that is noteworthy about Shellos that should be mentioned? Maybe the team archetypes that you typically use Shellos in / why you picked this specific EV spread? If not, please implement this, tag me, and I will mark it as done. Thanks

Stuff that is interesting about it is you usually find it on structures where you would get blasted by torchic due to having no fire resist, or using alolan sandshrew structures where you might struggle to find a rocker that helps you cover all of your teams defenses. It’s one of few pure water types in lc that is viable so it’s one if the tiers only reliable longterm checks to alolan sandshrew. Kinda just functions as a blank all check to a lot of the most dangerous mons in the meta like alolan sandshrew, torchic, and it can take on vullaby in a pinch as well. The ev spread lives 2 torchic groundblasts after rocks

Edited accordingly. Hacker check then, I will ping sunnny to gp again.

In the future, please keep in mind that if the QC member/team is satisfied with the content of the spotlight, there's usually little need to add/discuss more. If you see a spotlight you want some QC additions made to, reach out to the spotlight staff team :)
