SHINY DIAMONDS!
Hi everyone! My name is NocturnalGrowl and I'm here to post my new OU Hyper Offense team! I already tested it, and it's really blasting off in the ladder! Unfortunately, it still has that "something" that is missing to make a completely solid team.
This is the team:
As you can see the team is an Hyper Offensive team built around Mega-Diancie (as the thread title suggests), and it really gave me much satisfaction in the last days, thus I want it to be even better as it is now.
Diancie-Mega @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Diamond Storm
- Earth Power
- Moonblast
- Protect/Hidden Power Fire
Mega-Diancie is the mega of the team. Amazing speed and special attack, good coverage, Magic Bounce and a really good offensive type. The first 3 moves are pretty straight-forward, Diamond Storm is not only for coverage, but it's made for hitting specially bulky Pokemons aswell. (One of the many things i want rated on this thing is the nature, i can't decide if either keeping it Timid or if to reduce one of the two defences to increase Diamond Storm damage). Earth Power offers an amazing coverage for Mega-Diancie, it punishes Heatrans if they think they can tank this, overall coverage for bulky steel-types and for fragile poison types.
Moonblast is the obvious STAB attack, if the rocks are on the opposing team it can punch a giant hole in the opposing team if the opponent is not careful in predicting.
I can't decide between Protect and Hidden Power Fire, because with the mega evolution, Diancie loses bulk and doesn't gain the speed until the next turn, making it frail for faster steel/ground types. Though protect solves that problem, without HP fire i get tanked by Ferrothorn and Skarmory.
Raikou @ Assault Vest
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Raikou is another amazing Pokèmon, with it's ability to outspeed a huge part of the metagame thanks to it's amazing speed and the decent Special Attack and coverage, Raikou is the first part of my Volt-Turn core, other than protecting me from Steel-Types and bulky water types.
Volt Switch, along with Landorus' U-Turn, makes me keep momentum at all times. Thunderbolt is for max electric damage, and to keep momentum in case the opponent is dying (as killing a foe with Volt Switch would give the opponent momentum, instead. Shadow Ball is for Metagross and bulky Ghost/Psychic type in general. Hidden Power Ice is pretty straight-forward, not only gives me the chance to 1HKO some huge threats such as Garchomp or Salamence, but if i predict the switch-in of an opponent's Landorus, i can 2HKO it easily.
Talonflame @ Leftovers
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Will-O-Wisp
- Swords Dance
Talonflame is my most reliable revenge-killer. I chose this set as the bulk can save you from a incoming Scald, and the special bulk offers a nice pair with Will-O-Wisp.
The bulk can also allow me to set up on various occasions, such as with Ferrothorn, Forretress, Chansey, or pretty much everything that doesn't 1HKO me.
I can't decide to keep this or not, as I lack Defog/Rapid Spin.
Bisharp @ Dread Plate
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
This thing. Not only Bisharp allows me to switch in to an opponent Lati@s, but it protects me from Dragons in general. Not only that, if the enemy tries to Defog/places a Sticky Web i can easily sweep, but if either one of these situations doesn't occure, i can setup Swords Dance if I'm sure i can survive a hit. Knock Off gives coverage and helps me against Chansey/Porygon-2, as the team is really weak to both. Sucker Punch is a reliable priority against faster pokemons, and Iron Head saves me from slower Fairies (Sylveon, Clefable).
Landorus-Therian @ Earth Plate
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 224 HP / 48 Atk / 168 Def / 68 SpD
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
Landorus is the second part of the Volt-Turn core and sets up rocks, which are needed in every H.O.
The evspread makes me survive a Latios Draco Meteor (with LO) (252 SpA Life Orb Latios Draco Meteor vs. 224 HP / 40 SpD Landorus-T: 317-374 (84.5 - 99.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO).
The set is the classic Landorus-Therian set; Earthquake for a powerful STAB attack, Stone Edge for a must-have coverage, Stealth Rocks and U-Turn to complete the Volt-Turn core.
Alakazam @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Initially i was very skeptical about this Pokemon, but with each battle i grew a LOVE for it. It's Magic Guard+Sash makes it the ideal revenge-killer, it has an AMAZING Speed and Special Attack and a really decent over-all coverage. I decided to add Hidden Power Fire for Ferrothorn (as it does more damge than Focus Blast, without the miss change. Plus, it gives me more coverage for Skarmory and Scizor, as I wouldn't even scratch those. Psychic is straight-forward STAB, Focus Blast gives me coverage against Dark types, Shadow Ball is to damage Metagross and Starmie/Slowbro.
