"SHIT" JUST GOT REAL – a BW2 RMT by Dwayne

tumblr_m61av1AS191qbwrufo1_500.jpg

Hey everyone! I've recently been urged to write an RMT about this team, something that I've always wanted to do but never had the time or rather I was too lazy with school starting and stuff but I’m finally done with it, but before I get into that take a look at the pic above and start wondering could mewtwo possibly be another freiza form? What would happen if these two confront? Well we ever find an answer to who will win? While I try to figure these questions out and try to give you an answer you guys go ahead and read this RMT. here it is:

Relatively short team building process: (please do read for better understanding)

248.png

Sand started the team. I don’t know how any more painfully obvious it can get that I needed either hippowdon or tyranitar to keep perma-sand up. I decided on using CB Tyranitar simply because of its offensive presence and I don’t really need weather for this team but just to keep other weathers off the field.

248.png
445.png

Now that sand was up I needed to get to get some serious offence going and who better to add on a sand team than a fuckin land shark. Since garchomp has entered OU and I haven’t built a team using him I decided now was the right time to do so and went with the Sub Salac Garchomp set which clean sweeps unprepared teams late game.

248.png
445.png
647-resolution.png

Now, as i usually do with most of my teams I needed to add a scarfer which I believe is an essential for any successful team and as soon as I got to building this team I knew that rain offense would give me problems so I added Scarf Keldeo to deal with rain a bit better and acts as a great late game sweeper/cleaner with almost unrivalled speed when equipped with a choice scarf.

Now that I had a decent offensive core going my way I looked at my core and saw the weaknesses which included but were not limited to terrakion, mamoswine and abomasnow. SD Scizor checks most of these threats beautifully with its STAB bullet punch which has no problems cleaning teams after a SD when its counters are removed. Plus added scizor also gives me desperately needed priority to deal with stuff like cloister and to revenge kill things like terrakion.

Looking at my team it was once again painfully obvious that I was heavily based on the physical side meaning two things. One of them being that any physical wall could take any of my hits all day long and the second being that I desperately needed a specially based mon. After some consideration I opted to go for the man with the moustache a.k.a Sash Alakazam who despite his frailty has speed and special attack higher than that of the once uber latios and a great ability in Magic Guard which makes it an ideal abuser of focus sash.

2 things were staring to annoy me at this point. Sun and dragon spam. With only a single steel type in my team which wasn’t inclined to deal with dragons I decided another steel type would not harm anybody and that steel type might as well be useful with dealing with sun while it was dealing with dragons. If you haven’t figured out the sixth member by now it’s Air Ballon Heatran which helps me check sun and dragon types at the same time while providing me with another special sweeper.

MechaTar (Tyranitar) (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Superpower

Tyranitar definitely suffered a major setback in bw2 with fighting types practically having a spot on every team and the dominance of rain and its powerful sweepers. Nonetheless CB Tyranitar till day remains one of the most underrated and threatening pokemons in the metagame. The reason for this is because it's able to trap and kill a ton of threats to my team. It helps my sweepers do their job much more effectively, since it has the ability to remove Celebi, Jellicent, Lati@s, Slowbro Starmie, as well as opposing weather. With the aforementioned threats gone, Keldeo has a much easier time spamming those powerful Hydro Pumps to blow important holes in opposing teams. Garchomp no longer has to worry about Slowbro being a nuisance. Starmie also becomes less of a problem since those with Psyshock seem to be able to do a number to my team. TTar works wonders against the lati twins thanks to CB Pursuit easily being able to KO him and his bulk providing it enough health to tank their hits.
Despite its accuracy, Stone Edge is Tyranitar's main STAB move solely for its power and is capable of OHKOing or 2HKOing those that lack a resistance to it and even some that do. Crunch is a more accurate move that lets Tyranitar make short work of Jellicent, Reuniclus, and Celebi. Pursuit gives Tyranitar the ability to trap and kill the frail Psychic- and Ghost-types that would rather not stay in on any of Tyranitar's attacks. Superpower is the best move in the last slot, due to its ability to brutalize Steel-types and other Pokemon that resist its STAB moves. Superpower also gives Tyranitar the ability to land a crippling blow on Keldeo and Breloom, two of its biggest enemies, on the switch.
CB Tyranitar also has a surprise factor to its name being that since tyranitar has taken a major setback this gen people have began to believe that the standard specially defensive set is the only viable set for tyranitar in the current metagame. This thinking allows me to get heavy hits off on pokemon who don’t reisist its stabs thinking they can easily take a hit from an uninvested move. All in all, Landorus is an incredible team member, and one that I lack the will to replace.

Pony (Keldeo-Resolute) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power[ Ice]
- Surf

With Choice Scarf, Keldeo can serve as a premier revenge killer. Keldeo has extremely powerful stabs without any negative side effects, as well as a typing that doesn't leave it as vulnerable to and Scizor. I ended up choosing the choice scarf set since Keldeo had a better defensive typing than Terrakion and was less vulnerable to priority moves and since it pressures rain teams like nothing else.

The moves are what many people using Scarf Keldeo use. Hydro Pump is an incredible STAB move that can 2HKO almost anything that doesn't resist it. If the rain comes down, some resists are 2HKOed, while some Pokemon that were 2HKOed outside of the rain are now OHKOed. Secret Sword is the bane of any special wall that decides to switch in, thinking that they can absorb a Hydro Pump and recover the damage off. Hidden Power reduces the threat level of Dragons and other fast Pokemon weak to ice moves.

Keldeo can easily take on the role of the powerful Scarfed revenge killer and late-game cleaner. Due to the prominence of rain, Keldeo can serve as a terrorist against rain teams in the mid-game, while serving as a somewhat decent check to Volcarona. With its excellent Speed stat, it can act as a great dragon slayer, being able to snip apart opposing Scarf Salamence and Garchomp, each of which can pose a large problem if they're left to their own devices.

Genezor (Scizor) (M) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Technician
EVs: 232 Atk / 100 Atk / 176 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite
- Roost

Scizor has made my team so much more threatening that I can't even describe, providing not only a complete check to Psychic types but also packing very powerful priority Bullet Punch and insanely powerful in bug bite. However, the most important feature of scizor on my team is to deal with Terrakion and Mamoswine fairly easily. It was kind of hard to define him a specific role for my team, because he fills so many niches on the team it's hard to list them all! First off like mentioned earlier, he is an outstanding check to Psychic types like Latias, Latios, and Reuniclus who would otherwise sweep my team with ease. Next he packs priority in Bullet Punch. Bullet Punch, unlike Mach Punch, isn't halted by any immunity, so Scizor doesn't have to worry about Sableye or Gengar switch ins. Lastly, he acts as an amazing late game cleaner with Bullet Punch, and can completely demolish Dragon types like Salamence late game after Stealth Rocks, and even the bulky Dragonite.

His move set is very standard for a SD Scizor, but it's all he needs to wreck shop in OU against the plethora of dangerous threats. Bug Bite is a very powerful STAB move that completely destroys any Psychic types and dents anything that doesn't resist it. Bullet Punch is probably my main reason to even use Scizor. Priority is one of the most important things to have on any Offensive team in OU, and Scizor is definitely one of the best users of it because of Technician, STAB. Bullet Punch is the best move to use late game for finishing off weakened Pokemon, as well as severely denting frail Pokemon like Gengar and Breloom. Ice and Rock types hate this move, so Hail teams packing Kyurem have to watch out. Superpower is important for breaking through Heatran and Tyranitar, as well as hurting Kyurem-B more than Bullet Punch does. Swords Dance boosts my attack stat to insane levels making it BP stronger that of a CB set. Roost is a move that lets scizor to heal off damage taken switch in to thinks like psyshock and outrages, not to mention Draco Meteors. Once scizor’s counters are removed and a SD is set up scizor is unstoppable late game. Don’t believe me? Try it out yourself.

Psyche (Alakazam) (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]

There is not much to say about Alakazam except the fact that he is as great a psychic type as they come. Not only that his coverage moves are as excellent as his moustache is amazing. Alakazam has always had amazing Speed and Special Attack, but he received a boon with his new Dream World ability: Magic Guard. With this new ability, Alakazam has turned into one of the best revenge killers in the tier, and is a threat every team must account for.
Alakazam, being the man (umm… the poke) that it is, only needs one set to wreak havoc, and here it is. With high Speed, impeccable coverage, and Special Attack higher than that of Latios, Alakazam is a huge threat to face. The combination of Magic Guard and Focus Sash makes Alakazam a premier revenge killer. Focus Sash is particularly useful, as it will always take two separate hits to take him down.
Psyshock is a useful way to get through special walls such as Chansey and Blissey transforming alakazam into a mixed sweeper. Focus Blast allows Alakazam to hit Pokemon that would otherwise wall him, such as Tyranitar. Shadow Ball provides important coverage against other Psychic-type threats, such as Latios and Latias. Hidden Power Fire is useful to hit Steel-types that are not weak to Focus Blast, such as Scizor and Ferrothorn. No matter what one thing is for sure—all male pokemon are incredibly jealous of Alakazam's great moustache.

Heatranny (Heatran) (M) @ Air Baloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Offensively, Heatran is perhaps the most important member of this team, for numerous reasons. First, it's without a doubt the best switch in to physical walls such as Ferrothorn and forretress, who never enjoys taking a STAB Fire Blast, even in the Rain. This makes Heatran so important to the team's success, because we wanted to sweep with Garchomp. What makes Heatran such a wonderful partner to it the team is the fact it can switch into any Steel type in OU pretty easily and burn them down to ashes with its Fire STAB. Secondly, Heatran is the team's Stealth Rocker.
Fire Blast is a wickedly powerful STAB move, easily destroying anything that does not resist it. Earth Power is useful for dealing with other Heatran, as well as in situations where using Fire Blast is not a good idea, such as against Drizzle teams. Hidden Power Ice takes out Gliscor, and Landorus, although it will need to attack the latter on the switch or while its Air Balloon is still intact. Heatran is also one of the few Pokemon who can happily use Stealth Rock without any compatibility issues.

Heatran is also a formidable check to a plethora of threats which sincerly would just destroy this team without. This ranges from most version of Volcarona (has to be careful and keep the Air Balloon for Hidden Power Ground versions though), most Dragon Dancers like Dragonite and Salamence, Swords Dance Scizor, and Growth Venusaur. Obviously these aren't the only threats Heatran is able to check but that's only naming a few. It's very important to have a bulky Steel type in today's metagame because of all the incredibly powerful Dragons there are, and since Heatran carries a great mix of Physical and Special bulk, and a great Fire immunity, it goes without saying that it's one of the best for offensive teams. Heatran is our main tool against the not so popular but very dangerous Sun teams because it can take on so many of their most common members and hit them back very hard. Honestly, that team simply can't live without Heatran and it goes without saying that it's probably its most vital member.

Now U Die! (Garchomp) (M) @ Salac Berry
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 Def / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw

Garchomp is a monster in every sense of the word. Garchomp, the one that was once locked away in Ubers due to its power, is back to show its superiority amongst the OU pokemons. After setting up the base of my team I decided to try out a sub salac Garchomp. My results were amazing. Not only can this thing out speed all the Dragons bar Latios and Lati@s (those too once salac is up), Garchomp can tear enormous holes into teams with its extremely powerful Earthquake and Dragon Claw. Behind a sub garchomp becomes a huge threat to this team and swords dance only boosts his attack to an insane level. Garchomp has a great typing since is immune to Thunder Wave, which allows him to never have to worry about his speed being a problem and sub solves a will-o-wisp problem.
Garchomp is meant to do one thing, destroy anything in its path. Garchomp comes into battle when I know that the other pokemon on the side of the field cannot touch him. He has access to two powerful STABS, both being very devastating offensive moves. Dragon Claw is just plain after an SD. Being STAB and after an SD boost this move is like being hit by a train, and if a non resisted Pokemon comes into the battlefield, it better be invested in some serious defense or it's screwed. A single Outrage after an SD has the ability to OHKO Dragonite through its Multiscale 50% of the time, and 100% of the time without it, it can 2HKO Max HP max defense Gliscor. Earthquake is Garchomp's other STAB move that is Garchomp's second move that can really cause destruction. Fire types like Heatran are destroyed with it, and Jirachi is also surprisingly OHKOed occasionally. Garchomp works greatly with Heatran. Heatran can Air Balloon into Mamoswine or Weavile and check the crap out of them with Fire Blast, even with Mamoswine's Thick Fat ability. All in all Garchomp is the MVP of the team and an irreplaceable member of this team.
