Shoddy RMT - OU

I've been playing Wifi since I got into competitive Pokemon, but lately I've been frustrated with breeding and what not. Anyway, I'm taking a break from Wifi and playing on Shoddy now. At first glance, you might think that this team is just a bunch of random pokes thrown together, and you'd be right. With the plethora of new options available to me on Shoddy (hidden powers, pokes that I haven't previously had access to), I'm really just trying to throw something together to test the waters. This team is too slow, for sure, and several popular pokes give me problems (Breloom, DDGyara, Most Ghosts, Kingdra). Overall, the star of the team is easily Flygon, so keep in mind that he's been the most effective for me when rating.

Zapdos - Pressure, Modest @ Choice Scarf
80 HP/ 252 SpAtk/ 176 Spe
Thunderbolt
Heatwave
Hidden Power [Ice]
U-turn

Zapdos has moved to the lead position, and I'm pleased with the way it's working out. I now have the ability to take on practically every common lead, and if I find myself in an unfavorable match up I can simply U-turn away. Heatwave takes care of Metagross (though I have to be careful if it's holding and Occa Bery, because he tends to either explode or switch out to Heatran while I'm locked onto Heatwave) and Breloom (who rarely switches out for some odd reason). After the lead has been taken care of, I generally switch out to Swampert to lay the rocks down, and save Zapdos for later to absorb Bullet Punches and revenge kill dragons.

260.png

Swampert - Torrent, Impish @ Leftovers
252 HP/ 252 Def / 4 Atk
Waterfall / Avalanche
Earthquake
Roar
Stealth Rock

Swampert is my solution to my previously GAPING Baton Pass problem. Roar is also helping me phaze out stat boosters like Gyara and Salamence. Swampy provides the team with some needed physical bulk and SR support. Earthquake is the general STAB move that I use most often. Thinking that I had enough coverage for Gyara through Zapdos and Flygon, I opted for Waterfall instead of Stone Edge, becuase I needed a STAB water move on the team; however, if you think Avalanch would be more useful let me know.

248.png

Tyranitar - Sand Stream, Jolly @ Babiri Berry
4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spe
Aqua Tail/ Fire Punch
Crunch
Dragon Dance
Stone Edge

DDTar is replacing Boah and letting me pack a lot more punch. I'm just now getting used to playing this guy, and I really like what he's able to do for my team. Many times I've had this guy up against Celebi, taken the Grass Knot, DD'd, and OHKO with Crunch for the win. STAB Crunch hits most things really hard after a DD. Aqua Tail for a little extra coverage, but I'm thinking of switching to Fire Punch because I find myself using Aqua Tail so infrequently. I hate Stone Edge's accuracy, and it fails me very often on the Gyara switch in, but what can you do?

330.png

Flygon - Levitate, Adamant @ Choice Scarf
80 HP/ 252 Atk/ 176 Spe
Stone Edge
Earthquake
Outrage
U-turn

Flygon is really the star of my team, and my only answer to Kindra, he can sweep my entire team after a DD or two. He functions almost solely as a revenge killer, unless I can get in on an electric attack and deal some damage. I'm probably going to change Draco Meteor to Stone Edge to help me cope with me Gyara and Zapdos problems. Outrage is my primary STAB move, and can knock down a lot of Pokes. U-turn is kind of just a filler, and I don't find myself using it that often.

68.png

Machamp - No Guard, Adamant @ Leftovers
252 HP/ 252 Def/ 4 Atk
Dynamic Punch
Payback
Rest
Sleep Talk

Ahh, Restalk Machamp. This guy is a beast, and even without Atk EV investment he hits very hard with Dynamic Punch. Machamp is replacing Suicune as my status absorber, and I believe he does a better job because NOTHING (besides ghosts) like switching in to take a Dynamic Punch. Payback is here just to help me hit ghosts, but (as I'll mention in the threat list) it does hardly nothing to Dusknoir who is typically slower than me.

395.png

Infernape - Blaze, Hasty @ Life Orb
64 Atk/ 252 SpAtk/ 192 Spe
Fire Blast
Hidden Power [Ice]
Close Combat
Grass Knot

Special MixApe. This guy wrecks teams if they aren't prepared for him. The set provides awesome coverage, and I'm pretty much able to handle any common switch. HP [Ice] is here to provide some extra coverage agaisnt dragons, Grass Knot to hit the obvious waters that switch in to counter me. I try to keep Infernape hidden till late game when the opponents team is worn down. If he gets in under these circumstances, he's very likely to sweep for the win.

I've been laddering a lot, and I'm pretty close to 1300, but I just switched the team around like two days ago, and my win percentage has only gone up; so, I guess we'll see. Rate please.

Your team seems to be very lucario weak. He can pretty much 2hko all of your team. The solution to the problem is easy and it's just changing rotom-h's set to the scarfed set. That will allow you to deal with lucario easily.

Hello,

1:Um... why use Subpunch Tyranitar? Um... if it has been working well, disregard this, but I think if you want a wall breaker, try some pokemon with highpowered mix sweeping potential that can get a quick KO instead of setting up and possibly failing with a subpunch. :/

2:You have 3 pokemon that cover ground weakness, maybe switch one for a pokemon similar in need, but that covers a different weakness maybe?

3:I would recomend having a pokemon that knows roar, simply because I agree with Macle that you have a huge Lucario weakness. I would recomend Suicune as your Pseudo-hazer, IMO.

Hey.

Apart from a couple of weaknesses, this looks like a reasonably solid team, it's actually pretty similar to one I've been using lately.

Firstly, if you feel that Rotom isn't all that useful on the team, then I'd replace it with a steel type. Metagross is going to be coming out of lead matchups on fairly low health a lot of the time, meaning that you're going to struggle to find a reliable switch into dragon type attacks. A Scizor with Bullet Punch/U-turn/Pursuit/Superpower and a Choice Band, or a Heatran with Substitute/Fire Blast/Earth Power and Dragon Pulse/Toxic/Explosion, with Leftovers or a Life Orb as the item would work well.
However, it's worth noting that a DD Gyarados with Stone Edge will beat you fairly easily, especially if it has Leftovers as its item, should you drop Rotom. If you do decide to replace him, make sure you incorporate a way of dealing with Gyarados.

I think an Infernape using the physically based MixApe set (Close Combat/Stone Edge/Mach Punch/Overheat) would be a better choice than Tyraniboah here. While Boah is a great wallbreaker, it's building on the weaknesses you already have at the moment. MixApe for the most part take out the same walls that Boah does, but has the added benefit of being a pretty good way to take out Lucario, as one using a set of Close Combat/Ice Punch/Extremespeed/Swords Dance can 6-0 you pretty easily once it gets set up. MixApe can also work pretty well as a late-game sweeper, which is always nice to be able to fall back on should you need to, as well as being able to work pretty well against non-stall teams, which Boah isn't always all that useful against.
While Infernape is considerably more fragile than Tyranitar, it shouldn't be a huge issue here, seeing as you already have the ability to check a lot of what Tyranitar could check anyway. It's worth noting here for future reference that Tyranitar is going to lose to Life Orb Genger unless you run the specially defensive EV spread, as LO Focus Blast will OHKO every other Tyranitar EV spread, assuming it hits.

I'd probably run max speed and a Jolly nature on Flygon. The added power of Adamant is nice, but you really need Flygon to function as an effective revenge killer, and I always prefer the security of having a speed tie with other base 100s as the worst case scenario to hoping that they're also running that kind of speed. Even with Jolly, you're still going to do enough damage to KO what you need to the vast majority of the time, so you don't really lose all that much in return for having a more reliably revenge killer.

Good luck with the team.

Also, ~Final Mix~ - TyraniBoah is one of the best pokemon at breaking stall teams, I think you're really underestimating what it's capable of. SubPunch is only going to "fail" if you play it badly and try to set up at a bad time. Also, phazing doesnt even come close to countering Lucario, unless you have something like Gyarados that doesn't care about anything Lucario can do to it (barring the rare Stone Edge). Phazing can't counter something OHKOs your entire team before you can do anything to it.
