I've tested this team on Shoddy for a little while and it's doing well. Need some final input before starting to breed/EV train, etc.
I know that a few pokés in there are anything but original, i'm open to alternatives.
Ambipom @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Attack/Speed, 4 HP
Nature: Adamant
- Fake Out
- Frustration/Return
- U-Turn
- Brick Break
Opener, Revenge killer and general pain in the ass.
If Fake-out Does ~40%, then i Return for a 2HKO (unless there is a switch or i get OHKO), else i U-Turn to something else.
Haven't used Brick break to far, so i'm considering changing for payback, for a potential incoming ghost on Fake-Out / Return.
Electivire @ Expert Belt
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 252 Attack/Speed, 4 HP
Nature: Adamant
- Thunder Punch
- Ice Punch
- Cross Chop
- EarthQuake
Pretty much standard physical here. Main reason is Motor Drive to switch-in on the incoming Thunder attack directed at ...
Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP/Defence, 4 attack
Nature: Impish
- Stealth Rock
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird
- Roost
Physical Wall, Spiker, Phazer, Kamikaze, and excellent thunder bait for Electivire, which also covers an incoming earthquake on electivire.
Shed Shell is used here for a nice and nasty surprise to potential Magnezones.
Blissey @ Left Overs
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 60 HP, 252 Defence, 196 Special Attack
Nature: Bold
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Bolt
- Calm Mind
- Softboiled
Calmbliss here. The pink blob, with this Nature/EV can take a hit or two from physical dragons for a switch in + ice beam.
T-Bolt for the likes of Milotic and Vaporeon.
Infernape @ Expert Belt
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 24 Attack, 252 Special Attack, 232 Speed
Nature: Naive
- Flamethrower
- Grass Knot
- Close Combat
- Hidden Power: Ice
Mixape. Chose him for the broad coverage and speed. Took the expert belt mainly because i'm not a fan of recoil dammage. Often used as late game sweeper.
Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP, 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed
Nature: Timid
- Energy Ball
- Thuderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
Revenge killer, Fighting/Rapid Spin soaker. I try to avoid late game sweeping with it, since i could get in a lockdown.
Notes:
- Since i intend to port this team for DS/Wii play, Infernape might be hard to pull off, especially with Hidden Power. Getting the corresponsing IVs (and enough of them to have a decent HP) sounds like hours of pain, so i'm looking for similar coverage without the necessity of Hidden Power. I'm thinking Octillery..but the speed could eb an issue.
- Ampibom is my new favourite, Fake-Out is quite an interesting move and will either be a free hit, a 2HKO with Return or a forced switch. Ghosts usually counters Ambipom easily, but it's easy to predict the following fighting move, so i need a ghost somewhere to back it up. This one's a keeper.
- Skarmory if about the only pokémon that fits the Wall+Spike+phaze template. Also it's a lightning Magnet for electevire (an eventual octillery could cover this).
- Gengar. While i like the counter it provides against gyarados (faster than 2x DD Gyara). Focus Blast tend to miss a lot with me and well, the frailness and lockdown possibilities made me loose a few matches. Also, i plan playing in a non-sleep environement, so Hypnosis is out fo the question. Then again i'm open to suggestions for a decent replacement, Restalk Spiritomb maybe?. (Ghost preferably, to cover Ambipom/Blissey)
- With thunder moves beign rampant and especially with skarmory in my lineup, electivire is quite a keeper, most of the sweeping been done with this guy, especially with a motor drive shot.
- I'm pretty sure i could put blissey to a better use, Cleric? Crippler? I do like the dragon countering potential and well...is a poké i really like.
Feel free to post sugestions, comments, ideas, threats, etc. :)
