Intro:
I've been playing this game for a while and have gotten tired of the same 1 out of 2 sets for every poke I see. Although diversity is great, I can use this to my advantage. From that I figured why not make a team around a CM Jirachi? It was a huge threat in 4th gen and hard to take out once it's set up. The Wish+CM set is a great help to itself and teammates but I think i'll role with SubCM because I would have better opportunities to get up a free sub while my opponent thinks I'm running the popular special defensive set.

Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 128 HP / 252 SAtk / 128 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Yes my signature poke, Rotom-W. Life Orb lead used to hit like a truck, but Rotom enjoys Leftovers more on this team. The EVs let me outspeed adamant Dragonite and Politoed. Volt Switch lets me hit bulky waters for good damage while scouting for counters. Will-O-Wisp hits Gastrodon and slows down Dragonite. Pain Split helps recover off damage.

Heatran @ Shuca Berry
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 32 HP / 252 SAtk / 224 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Dragon Pulse
- Stealth Rock

Stealth Rock Heatran is great synergy with Rotom-W. I get plenty of free switches to Heatran when my opponent switches in a grass type like Celebi or Ferrothorn on Rotom's Volt Switch. Heatran can scare off Ferrothorn and Celebi. Celebi with Earth Power can put a dent in my team so I run Shuca Berry. Unlike Air Balloon, you can't see the Shuca and its doesn't lose its effect when it gets hit by just any move. I don't bother running Earth Power because Balloon Heatran are so abundant so I just switch into Rotom if i see one. When Rotom pulls off a Will-O-Wisp on Gastrodon, taking it down makes it easier with HP Grass. Dragon Pulse is to keep Dragonite from getting free set ups.

Latias @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Psyshock
- Recover

Looking at my team I had to patch up the Virizion weakness right away and Latias is probably to best to do so. No matter how many Calm Minds Virizion gets up, it will always die to a Psyshock. Heatran can bother this team a bit so I replaced HP Fighting with Surf. I chose Latias over Latios because she is bulkier. Recover helps remedy from all the recoil.

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Might change this set to something more defensive. More testing is needed. But Scarf Tyranitar has been great. It's an unexpected check to Thundurus and Calm Mind Latias. Sometimes he even saves me from a Scrafty sweep.

Bag_Toxic_Orb_Sprite.png

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Taunt
- Swords Dance

Gliscor is a life saver for this team. Excadrill completely walls Jirachi but Gliscor can take those hits all day, pop it's balloon with Ice Fang and threaten to KO with Earthquake. Taunt keeps pokes from setting up hazards or anything else I don't like. Along with Swords Dance he can sweeps teams

Bag_Leftovers_Sprite.png

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Substitute
- Calm Mind

Can't tell you how easy it is to set up on with this guy. After just a couple calm minds, Jirachi can sweep through teams, especially stall. Flash Cannon I realized is the better move to hit Latias, Reuniclus, Celebi and other Tyranitar. Thunderbolt rounds off the coverage. Substitute cancels out any status moves and allows me to set up more. This set is very effective and should get more play.

Hi, this is a very solid team no huge apparent problems really. The first change I would like to make is simply bumping Gliscor's speed up to 80. This is just to speed creep on on other Gliscor who run the spread that you do. This speed investment also helps you outrun stallbreaker Mew so you will not need to swap out if it taunts you. The main problem of this team is Volcarona. After one Quiver Dance, everything is outsped and 2HKOed at worst. Although this change will be pretty easy to fix anyways. I would try and switch Heatran's set to the specially defensive variant. This will help you check Volcarona between stealth rocks and roar. A set with Stealth Rocks | Flamethrower | Will-o-Wisp | Roar would be the most effective set. Will-o-Wisp also helps you lure in threats like Dragonite and Gyarados as well so that you can cripple them leaving Jirachi open to sweep. The EV spread would be 248 HP | 252 SpD | 8 Spe would probably be the most optimal one for specially defensive Heatran with a calm nature and an item choice of leftovers. Finally, you may want to consider Taunt over Protect on Gliscor. At the moment, Skarmory can spike on quite a few of your team members as well, so Taunt on Gliscor will really help you remedy this problem.

Just some little suggestions to try out. Very solid team, good luck.

Yes i was thinking about more speed on Gliscor and I do have a problem with Volcarona sometimes. I will test these out asap.

Nice team, really solid and I like the Gen 4 feel too. The only change I'd suggest is Will-O-Wisp on Rotom-W over HP Ice. It doesn't seem to really add that much to the set, and Will-O-Wisp allows you to cripple Ferrothorn as well as getting some nice residual damage on the Dragons that might want to come in on you.

Hi

This is a very solid teams with some surprising yet effective movesets.

If you are using and offensive set, you might want to consider Latios instead of Latias. Latios is offensively stronger and hits significantly harder then his female counterpart.
I also want to suggest Leftovers on Rotom-W to give it some more survivability as Pain Split is very unreliable.
You could also consider Wish on Jirachi instead of Substitute so Jirachi can stay healthier more easily and Wish is also useful in keeping your other pokemon healthy.
You could also try a more defensive EV's spread so Jirachi can set up more easily.
Another thing you could try is Psyshock instead of Psychic on Jirachi. This way Jirachi will always win in a Calm Mind war against opposing pokemon as Reuniclus and Latias.

Those are good points I'm just skeptical about putting Psyshock on because the main thing I want to take down is Gliscor because they are common switch-ins and I need to muscle it down to take it out which I can't do if I use that move. Plus they will just switch out if I bring in Rotom so I probably wont be getting anywhere with Jirachi.

Smogon server needs to go up so I can test out these ideas :/

Hi,

To check Volcarona and other bulky threats like Gastrodon, I would suggest the same Defensive Heatran that AB2 did, but rather than use Will-o-Wisp, I will suggest you use Toxic, which will really aid your Jirachi sweep because it will be constantly wearing down bulky opponents with Toxic damage. Additionally, Rotom-w has the ability to cripple and wall offensive behemoths like Gyarados, Landorus and Dragonite, whom this team may otherwise have trouble with, by using a slighty more defensive Rotom-w EV spread. With EVs of 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 SpAtk and a Bold Nature, you will be able to take a hit from Dragonite at +1 and cripple it permanently with Will-o-wisp. If you do make this change, replace Volt Switch with Thunderbolt so you have a solid way of taking out Jellicent, who otherwise is problematic for this team with its Taunt set.

As a minor nitpick, and along the lines of what Delko was saying, Latios is the better choice for the offensive set simply because of its sheer power advantage, and none of them like a Choiced Pursuit from Scizor or Tyranitar anyway, so you are the minor bulk you lose is more than made up by the KOs that Latios can get that Latias doesn't. You can run the same set and spread. Hopefully I helped and good luck.
