Hi. It's Insanelegend again. I apologize for my post on the last article approval as it may have seemed rude when I just wanted to talk about why Sun Teams are viable. Well, why not talk about this topic in the Smog? Many members may be wondering about how weather will preform in this new generation. Well, I want to write an article about the upsides and downsides of sun, and whether it is worth using at the end of the day or simply a gimmick that only wins low on the ladder. If this doesn't work, I may have to give up trying to write about sun teams and pursue another topic such as new Mega Evolutions I think will be made or should be made ( mention if you are interested in this possible article please). Anyway, here is my outline.
1. What is the Goal of a Sun Team
1. Offensive
-Chlorophyl Users Gain Speed
-Fire Attacks Powered Up
-Growth Gives Huge Boost
2. Defensive
-Weakens Water Attacks
-Synthesis, Morning Sun, and Moonlight Recover More Health
-Harvest Always Works
2. Is it Even the Best Weather? ( I don't think I need to mention Hail Teams but tell me if I should)
1. Rain
-Matchs Up Better Against Sun
-Sweepers Get Water Boost and Swift Swim
-Rest+Hydration is Very Powerful Stall
2.Sand
-Matchs Up Better Against Sun
-Better for Stalling
-Tyranitar is Actually Useful
3. Other Roadblocks
1. Specific Threats ( Pokemon)
-Heatran
-Tyranitar
-Talonflame ( the murderer of Chlorophyl Sweepers)
2. Non-Specific Threats
-Stealth Rocks Users
-Stalling Pokemon ( Stall Out Sun)
3. Can These Be Overcome? Yes, But
-Need Spinner of Defogger
-Need Counters to the Specific Threats
-Need to Keep Sun Up
4. What Does Sun Offer?
1. Fastest Sweepers in Game ( Thanks to Chlorophyl)
-Sawsbuck
-Venusaur
-Victreebel and Others
2. Powerful Fire Attacks
-Darmanitan
-Chandelure
-Volcarona and Others
3. Very Powerful Megas
-Charizard
-Venusaur
-Houndoom ( Chance to 2HKO Blissry in Sun with Neutral Attack. How many Special Attackers Can Say That?)
4. Brings More Recovery and Harvest
-Trevanant
-Cressilia
-Mega-Venusaur
5. So is Sun Worth it? Quick Summary of Ups and Downs
1.Yes
-You can Easily Use Coverage Moves and an Offensive Spinner like Starmie to Cover Weaknesses
-Can Hit Both Hard and Fast
2.No
-Stealth Rocks Tear the Team Apart
-Other Weathers Outclass it
3. Overall, Yes
-While it can Be Hard to Utilize Effectively, It can Control the Game with Ease Due to Very Few Other Weather Teams and Fanatastic Sweepers and Mega-Evolutions
This is what I've got. Tell me what you think. I will not respond with a post trying to argue and prove my point as I did last time which was very unprofessional and I apologize for. Hopefully this is approved and I can start working as soon as possible. If not, I will pursue other options as I want to help this unique community as best I can. If anyone wants to discuss Sun Teams, the OU Metagame, or wants some help with an article or thread, just start a conversation and I might be able to help or have an intelligent conversation.
Thank You,
Insanelegend
