Showdown OU Team: Munge Bimp

Hey everyone! This is gonna be a full, drawn out RMT so excuse any spelling errors simply due to length and the fact that I am just too damn lazy. So, without further ado, here is:
MUNGE BIMP
THE NAME ALONE FILLS YOU WITH TERROR

So here's a sneaky peaky:
ninjask.gif
greninja.gif
noivern.gif
infernape.gif
deoxys-defense.gif
mienshao.gif

And we'll go in that order, so first up is:

Spudge Funker/NINJASK @ Focus Sash
ninjask.gif

Ability: Speed Boost
Role: Lead/Booster
Nature: Jolly
EV Spread: 252 Speed, 252 Attack, 4 HP
Moveset: Swords Dance, Baton Pass, Protect, Toxic

Spudge is a real funker. I lead with him because rocks ruins his sash strategy. Spudge is designed to get a guaranteed 2 speed boosts and one Swords Dance, and then baton pass in whatever benefits most. Toxic is used when I predict someone setting up spikes or also boosting. He's pretty much a straight forward baton passer who helps everyone on my team except Greninja and Noivern, and the speed still is okay to give them. Also, if someone is leading with something like Cloyster and laying spikes, I can get 2-3 Sword Dances in and switch in with basically impunity because, let's face it, spikes aren't scary. Moving on...
Next up is:

Drippy Spaff/GRENINJA @ Expert Belt
greninja.gif
(he's shiny but idgaf)
Ability: Protean
Role: Sweeper/Opprotunity Hitter
Nature: Timid
EV Spread: 252 SpA, 252 Speed, 4 HP
Moveset: Ice Beam, Scald, HP Fire, Dark Pulse

I'm gonna lay it right out: Spaff wins me battles. Finisher dragon types go bye-bye, annoying Ferrothorns die, and Infernape is outsped and becomes chum for this frog ninja spaff guy. HP fire isn't ran a whole lot on Gren, but I think it makes sense just because Ferrothorn is evil, and it gives me a good surprise to any Venusaur walls or grass types in general. By opportunity hitter, I mean that I switch him when I need a super effective move on a wall. Enough about spaffer though, let's move on to:

Gash Hinge/NOIVERN @ Wide Lens
noivern.gif

Ability: Infiltrator
Role: Sweep/Anti-Baton-Pass
Nature: Modest
EV Spread: 252 Speed, 252 Special Attack, 4 HP
Moveset: Boomburst, Dragon Pulse, Flamethrower, Focus Blast

Hinge is probably going to be the most contested member of my team, but I love him. He has... not great speed, but it gets the job done. I opted for dragon pulse instead of draco meteor because I don't want him switching into rocks all the time, as he is a flying type. Flamethrower was simply because I needed some fire moves on my team. Wide Lens is to help out Focus Blast. This guy can come in with the right time and just murder left and right. Infiltrator is simply to counter any substitute resistance, especially baton pass Scolipede leads. But enough about him, here's the lowdown on:

Faffy Waffle/INFERNAPE @ Expert Belt
infernape.gif

Ability: Iron Fist
Role: Straight up physical sweeper.
Nature: Jolly
EV Spread: 252 Speed, 252 Attack, 4 HP
Moveset: Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Dual Chop, Poison Jab

Waffle may be my favorite member of the team. He is very frail, but who cares? He is a flaming monkey, goddamn it. All moves are coverage, and Dual Chop is my super special surprise to dragons. Almost no fairy except Granbull can tank a poison jab from this dude. Granbull would just barely eke it out, too. I don't really have much to explain with him. He is what he is, take him or leave him. Now we're on to:

Gog Noggler/DEOXYS-D @ Chesto Berry

deoxys-defense.gif

Ability: Pressure
Role: Straight Wall
Nature: Bold
EV Spread: 252 both defenses, 4 HP
Moveset: Rest, Recycle, Toxic, Cosmic Power

The Nogster's only purpose is to be an annoying troll poke that is nigh unkillable, and certainly can't be OHKO'd. The strategy is simple, and evil. Jump in, spam Cosmic Power, Rest, Recycle, Toxic, Repeat. It's base 90 speed is amazing for a wall, so I sometimes get cosmic power boosts before I am attacked. Someone asked me today why it has Chesto Berry instead of Lum. The reason is so that it doesn't get toxic poisoned and then heal and force me to recycle again before resting. My team goes by the rule of best for last, so here is the best my team is founded upon:

Blenge Squelch/MIENSHAO @ Focus Sash
mienshao.gif

Ability: Regenerator
Role: TRUMP CARD
Nature: Naïve
EV Spread: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP
Moveset: Poison Jab, Knock Off, Stone Edge, Reversal

This gal will change the metagame if enough people notice. It has a great movepool of coverage moves, but may be the best reversal user EVER. It is easy to use, too. If someone uses fake out, IMMEDIATELY SWITCH. Regen will make you able to use sash again. Your goal is to get to 1 HP. Then reversal gets to like 200 power or something ridiculous. I'm actually starting to think about using Sturdy, Scarfed Sawk to fill this role, but right now Mienshao is working well with its base 105 speed and 125 attack. Squelch literally sweeps entire teams, and also OHKO's a butt ton of psychic types.

So there you have it, folks, my first legit RMT. Please comment anything you feel may help me move forward and dominate Showdown! OU. Thanks for reading!

Noivern can really be a great Specs user because it has good base speed and type coverage. On my set I like to run air slash over boomburst or focus blast. Noivern's high speed means you can often get the flinch hax and it gives a great counter to mega Venasaur which doesnt take much from fire/ice attacks.

Hello there. Solid team here. I do have a few suggestions that may make this team better.
  • I find Boomburst being redundant on Noivern. Noivern has access to Infiltrator, allowing all your moves to hit through subs anyway, so you're better of replacing it with another move. RaidRover's SpecsVern is a pretty good suggestion. Noivern also has access to Switcheroo to cripple special walls on the switch with Specs.
  • In this priority filled meta, you're probably better of running LO Mienshao over Sash. Sash Mienshao does allow you to use Reversal to the fullest, but priority will limit its use. Scarf Mienshao is a pretty good revenge killer too.
  • I suggest you replace Infernape's Dual Chop with Close Combat. Close Combat is a reliable STAB that allows you to hit bulky Waters like Quagsire and Gastrodon harder. Dual Chop is indeed a nice surprise against Dragons, but two common Dragons I can name right now are ScarfChomp and Dragonite. ScarfChomp outspeeds and OHKOs with Earthquake and it doesn't guarantee OHKOing through Multiscale after 2 hits (you could run Adamant, I think it does OHKO after 2 hits). Anyway, I also suggest replacing Expert Belt with Life Orb. It gives a notable boost to all your attacks. Not just SE ones.
  • Your Deo-D's moveset could be pretty annoying to face, but it has some flaws. One, it's Taunt bait. A single Taunt forces your Deo-D to switch out as it really can't do anything. And two, it's setup fodder for pokes who are immune or could do something about Toxic. Pokes behind subs, Steel types, Magic Guard and Magic Bounce users setup on Deo-D. A real threat is SD Mega Scizor who could easily rack up SDs
    40+ Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bug Bite vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Deoxys-D: 162-192 (66.9 - 79.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

    40+ Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bug Bite vs. +2 4 HP / 252+ Def Deoxys-D: 84-98 (34.7 - 40.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
I suggest replacing your current set with SpDef Deo-D. It sets up hazards and has Magic Coat to shrug off Taunts and status.
  • I'd also change your Ninjask's EV spread if I were you. Ninjask is so damn fast it outspeeds +Speed Deo-S after +1. Also, I'd suggest trying out Substitute over Toxic and Mental Herb over Focus Sash. Passing boosts is so much easier done behind a sub and Mental Herb guarantees you won't get screwed by Prankster Taunt (Thunderus) and be forced to switch.
  • Finally, I suggest replacing Greninja's Expert Belt with Life Orb (that's a lot of Life Orbs). Despite Greninja's pretty good coverage, it doesn't hit stuff like Rotom-W (most used mon in OU) for anything super effective. Anyway, HP Fire hits Ferrothorn and Scizor for good damage, but if you want to hit Mega Venusaur harder, Extrasensory is the move for you. Hydro Pump also hits noticeably harder than Scald btw.
  • As of now, FlySpam teams will blitz through your team. And its not just Flying types, any hard physical attack will dent something in your team. I suggest finding a slot in your party for a decent physical wall.

Sorry about the wall of text. I hope it helped and good luck with your team!

Good point RaidRover , I was basically using lens as a filler but specsvern makes a lot more sense.

NotBruceWayne, I'll go through what you said from top to bottom. Boomburst<STAB Air Slash, yeah. I really want to continue running my Mienshao set, because I think it is a unique strategy that helps me win more than it gets me swept. Close Combat>Dual Chop when I'm running Ice Beam Gren, true. Life Orb makes more sense on Faffy Waffle, too, especially when I am using STAB close combat, because I really don't care about the defensive drop on an Infernape lol. Scarfing or banding it might be even beter yet. As far as Deoxys-D, do you think it needs like either counter or mirror coat over toxic? I really just try to outwall with toxic atm, but yeah, even Ferrothorn sets up on this poke. I guess pure stall Deo-D is out of place on this team, so maybe MC, Rocks set is a better idea. SubJask is a good fit for my team because it gives Infernape a free move, good point. As far as EV Spread, all I care is that it isn't outsped. I might put those attack ones into HP for more potential subs. I don't want to put LO on Gren, because I need his coverage late in the game. I also run scald just because of status chance, but maybe I should put in Hydro Pump just to put a good rip into T-tar. I am replacing HP Fire with Extrasensory, no one usually is dumb enough to switch in a grass type on Ice Beam (barring Ferrothorn.) Flyspam may be addressed by putting Sky-Uppercut in somewhere, but maybe not bc flying resists. But yeah, thanks for the suggestions.

UPDATE: Substitute Ninjask set works AMAZINGLY, thanks! Deoxys-D HAS TO GO. The Noggler just doesn't fit in on this setup sweep team. It will be going in favor of either a ghost type to spin, or, failing that, a defogger or rapid spinner that can still hit hard, like latias.

Why do you run max attack with no attacking moves? Not trying to be mean but this team seems to have many problems though it seems to be able to deal with ladder very well. You probably want to change deoxys defense to a suicide lead. Scolipede is better than ninjask in almost every way and your team really has nothing to pass to, I would change the theme of the team.

Deo is now gone, Rapid Spin/Volt Switch/Tox. Spikes/Rocks Forretress is in. Mienshao is out for Hawlucha testing. Spudge will stay until he fucks me over something serious in a battle.
