Shuckle?

shuckle @ leftovers ** giggitygoo
sturdy/ bold,relaxed,impish
252 def 252 sp.def 4 hp
- rest
- toxic
- protect
- stealth rock

Honestly, just sick. ONLY thing that kills it is Taunt.

lay rocks. toxic/protect uglies. rest when weak. :-D

Is it still cheap? :-( I wanna play it.

I think Rock Polish + Power Trick is the way to go when using Shuckle.
His base speed is 5. After 3 Rock Polishes (the max), he still won't outspeed anything.

After Power Trick, he'll only have base 10 defense...

Try trick room. You should be OHKOing stuff like crazy after a power trick, and it sounds like it might work. Setup trick room and switch shuckle into a special attacker and you win. xD

Earthquake, Facade, Rock Smash, Power Trick?

I wouldn't risk using a move unless it has 100 accuracy.

I still think the original concept is better.

Oh man, that thing is disgusting. Its a good job it doesn't get Spikes or Toxic Spikes, or it would literally be the worst thing in the whole world. As it is, it's just really annoying. I'm imagining a situation where it comes down to that thing and my Immune Snorlax. Tedium ensues.

Along comes a Steel type and he walls the complete crap out of Shuckle.
Well... There is this new "hip" thing... I think it might be called "switching"? The newer kids rave about it. I don't understand it really but it might be a solution to a steel type.

Lol, that means you've been countered and you're going to take a hit or get setup on.

I use a Shuckle similar to this, only difference is Wrap over Stealth Rock so they can't switch out of Toxic. You absolutely need max HP EVs, or you're going to go down pretty fast. Try 252 HP, 252 SpDef, 6 DEF with a Bold nature.

The first time I saw the move Power-Trick used, all I could think was "oshi Shuckle gon' be a sweeper MACHINE!"

But then again, anything would kill it, so I dunno.

Wow, Trick Room+Power Trick Shuckle would be complete ownage. Emagine a Nasty Plot BP'd to him from Togekiss....

Power Trick only swaps physical stats

also Shuckle only gets three turns max of Trick Room time, so anything outside 2v2 is pure gimmick.

Not only Taunt, but Substitute also kills it. You call that set cheap!? Shuckle is even more setup bait than Umbreon; it's a useless worm that hides in a rock, and nothing more.

with a base HP of 50, and base defenses of 230, wouln't it make more sense to give it 252 HP EVs?
then just give 252 EVs to one of the defenses, and 4 EVs plus a boosting nature to the other defense.

Shuckle: Life Orb

Rock Slide
Earthquake
Power Trick
Protect/Helping Hand

The turn your teammate uses Trick Room use Power Trick because you go last and you keep your defenses until you have used it. Then you can sweep next turn with 4 turns left.

Life Orb is there for maximum damage and to change moves. It has low life and low defense under Power Trick, so its HPs is not a big deal anyways.

Shuckle is immune to Tyranitar's ability, so he can last longer.

Actually, assuming your Trick Room pokmon is faster than the enemy, wouldn't trick room take effect right away and force Shuck to go next? Or does trick room have a speed modifier?

RaptorJesus: Trick Room does indeed have a -Speed priority. In fact, even Roar\Whirlwind beat it.

My favorite Advance set was:

- Body Slam
- Toxic
- Encore
- Rest

Encore is really a must on support Shuckle, because you can pretty much Encore most moves and then switch to an appropriate counter - especially if it's a Choice Bander that's set up to hit hard. Body Slam was great for paralyzing those Gyarados who thought they had him beat with Taunt.

Nowadays, though, I'm contemplating Knock Off over Body Slam.
