[OVERVIEW]

Silvally-Ghost is an incredibly potent wallbreaker and late-game cleaner in NU as a result of its strong Multi-Attack and ability to boost with both Swords Dance and Flame Charge. Ghost-type Multi-Attack is very hard to safely switch into, so many teams are forced to rely on blanket physical walls like Mudsdale and Guzzlord that are more vulnerable to being overwhelmed throughout the game. What holds Silvally-Ghost back, though, is its poor coverage. When faced with a foe such as Braviary that Multi-Attack won't do the job against, Silvally-Ghost typically struggles to break past it due to weak coverage moves limited to essentially Bug and Rock, and its unimpressive unboosted Attack stat amplifies this issue. Additionally, Silvally-Ghost is fairly easy to revenge kill if it doesn't get a Speed boost, which can make setting up ideal late-game sweeping scenarios somewhat difficult. It also suffers from being unable to hold a more useful item, which lessens its ability to wallbreak, and being a poor Knock Off absorber due to its Dark weakness.

Despite its lack of coverage options, Silvally-Ghost's strong Multi-Attack is typically enough to carry it offensively. So, U-turn is usually run to give Silvally-Ghost more use early- and mid-game and helps it take advantage of Normal- and Dark-types like Braviary and Guzzlord. Alternatively, X-Scissor helps it muscle past defensive Guzzlord, having a good chance to 2HKO it at +2, and works better than U-turn on more offensive builds. Substitute also sees use to prevent faster revenge killers like Choice Scarf Flygon and Zoroark from dealing with Silvally-Ghost. If desired, you can opt for the combination of X-Scissor + Substitute, although this leaves Silvally-Ghost more vulnerable to revenge killers when not behind a Substitute.

Although Silvally-Ghost can muscle past Normal- and Dark-types on its own, it still greatly benefits from the support of Fighting-types such as Sirfetch'd, Machamp, and Toxicroak to expedite the process; these teammates also help pressure blanket physical walls. In return, it deals with opposing Ghost- and Psychic-types like Decidueye and Xatu. Entry hazard setters like Diancie, Copperajah, and Garbodor are great teammates, and the latter can potentially remove recovery items from foes like Mudsdale and Drapion, making them much easier to wear down. Similarly, Xatu provides great offensive support with dual screens and Thunder Wave, which enables Silvally-Ghost to set up and sweep late-game much more easily. Other offensive Ghost- and Dark-types like Decidueye and Guzzlord can work with Silvally-Ghost to overwhelm shared checks.

Rock Slide lets Silvally-Ghost better deal with Braviary and retain neutral coverage against other Normal-types. Explosion turns Silvally-Ghost into more of a support option for other offensive Ghost-types, eliminating Normal- and Dark-types for them.

Checks and Counters
====

**Normal-types**: Braviary is the best switch-in to Silvally-Ghost; it only fears the somewhat rare Rock Slide and Explosion and can set up alongside Silvally-Ghost with Bulk Up. Other Normal-types like Tauros and Exploud are problematic too, but +2 Flame Charge followed up by a stronger coverage attack is generally enough to get by them.

**Dark-types**: Drapion and Guzzlord can't reliably contend with a boosted Silvally-Ghost, but they resist Multi-Attack and can 2HKO it with Knock Off. Zoroark can OHKO Silvally-Ghost with Life Orb Dark Pulse or, if running Choice Scarf, outspeed boosted Silvally-Ghost and KO it with some chip damage.

**Physical Walls**: Mudsdale has a fair chance to avoid a 2HKO from even +2 Silvally-Ghost and, with some chip damage, can 2HKO in return with Earthquake. Weezing, Arcanine, and Vaporeon take significant damage from boosted Multi-Attack but threaten to burn Silvally-Ghost with Will-O-Wisp and Scald.

Ghost-type Multi-Attack is very hard to safely switch into, and as a result, many teams are forced to rely on blanket physical walls (like? I was thinking Mudsdale + Guzzlord, shows their lack of recovery, could even add at the end U-turn chip, especially for Guzz) that are more vulnerable to being overwhelmed throughout the game. When faced with a foe such as Braviary that Multi-Attack won't do the job against, Silvally-Ghost typically struggles to break past them because of how limited its options are. Garbodor is a great teammate thanks to Spikes, and it can potentially remove recovery items from foes like Mudsdale and Drapion, making them much easier to wear down (SR chip is just as important as spikes and has more relevant setters, could expand this point to include both. Trum goes down to a +2 multi after rocks or spikes, if u wanted to fit that in there as well) Similarly, Xatu provides great offensive support with dual screens and Thunder Wave, which enables Silvally-Ghost to set up and sweep late-game much more easily. QC 1/2!

What holds Silvally-Ghost back, though, is its poor coverage.
mention more specifically the issue with its coverage is the low bw/lack of range/low attack stack unboosted as well. while the bp of multi offsets the low attack @ times it rlly shows off how bad it is w/ the coverage

also mention that it cant run an item, but is still weak to knock off which really hurts it in a boots meta, and theres no real added benefit from the item aside from ma typing.
Other Options
also mention explosion here as well imo; its a cool option that covers normals and darks and works well as a more team support option for things like decid.
