[OVERVIEW]
Silvally-Ground is a threatening and versatile Pokemon; strong EdgeQuake coverage threatens most of the tier, and it can either act as a sweeper with Flame Charge or an offensive pivot with U-turn that successfully blocks Rotom-C's Volt Switch. It finds plenty of opportunities to come in and threaten NU staples such as Copperajah, Diancie, and Dragalge, and its bulk allows it to take one attack from walls like Vaporeon and subsequently break through them. However, its inability to hold a useful item makes it quite susceptible to status and entry hazard damage, which can interfere with its ability to sweep; it is also held back by the existence of revenge killers like Choice Scarf Inteleon and Heliolisk and First Impression Sirfetch'd.

====
Swords Dance and 120-Base Power Multi-Attack combine to make Silvally-Ground a massive offensive threat. Rock Slide takes down Flying-types like Xatu and Talonflame; it also hits Mantine super effectively but does not OHKO at +2 without prior damage. Flame Charge turns Silvally-Ground into a sweeper, letting it boost its Speed while providing a coverage move for Grass-types, albeit a weak one. U-turn, on the other hand, can wear down checks such as Vaporeon and Rotom-C as they switch in, letting its Multi-Attack more easily break them the next time it comes in.
Spikers like Garbodor, Froslass, and the more niche Ferroseed can pave the way for a Silvally-Ground sweep, especially when paired with Knock Off users like Drapion and Passimian. Teammates that struggle with Water- or Grass-types, such as Swords Dance Talonflame and Nasty Plot Rotom-C, appreciate U-turn Silvally-Ground's ability to weaken those walls. Silvally-Ground appreciates having Flying-types like Xatu and Mantine weakened or removed before attempting to sweep; Fighting-types like Passimian and Sirfetch'd can force damage onto them and put them in range of +2 Rock Slide.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====
Defog can take advantage of Silvally-Ground's positive matchup versus entry hazard setters like Garbodor, Copperajah, and Diancie but is generally a waste of its offensive potential.
Checks and Counters
====
**Grass-types**: Rotom-C dislikes switching into Silvally-Ground's U-turn, but it is able to survive a +2 Flame Charge and OHKO back with Leaf Storm. Bulkier Grass-types like Decidueye and Dhelmise have access to recovery and can reliably fend off Silvally-Ground in the long-term.
**Water-types**: Vaporeon tanks one +2 Multi Attack and 2HKOes with Scald, preventing Silvally-Ground from getting an Attack and Speed boost if it is fully healthy.
**Physical Walls**: The combination of Stamina, Toxic, and Protect allows Mudsdale to stall out Silvally-Ground; Quagsire's Unaware lets it do the job as well. Talonflame's 4x weakness to Rock Slide makes it an unreliable answer, but it can revenge kill Silvally-Ground or pivot in on a Multi-Attack and chip it with U-turn.
**Entry Hazards**: Spikes can make it easier to offensively pressure Silvally-Ground or stall it out with Toxic poison due to its inability to run Leftovers or Heavy-Duty Boots. Toxic Spikes ruin its ability to sweep or pivot if they are not removed.
**Revenge Killers**: Choice Scarf Inteleon can outspeed and OHKO Silvally-Ground even after a Speed boost; Choice Scarf Heliolisk also outspeeds Silvally-Ground but cannot OHKO it. Without Flame Charge, Silvally-Ground can be revenge killed by a wider variety of fast offensive threats. Starmie and Choice Scarf Rotom-Mow can OHKO it, and Talonflame, Salazzle, and Choice Scarf Passimian are able to KO it after a moderate amount of chip damage.
