[OVERVIEW]

Silvally-Ground is a threatening and versatile Pokemon; strong EdgeQuake coverage threatens most of the tier, and it can either act as a sweeper with Flame Charge or an offensive pivot with U-turn that successfully blocks Rotom-C's Volt Switch. It finds plenty of opportunities to come in and threaten NU staples such as Copperajah, Diancie, and Dragalge, and its bulk allows it to take one attack from walls like Vaporeon and subsequently break through them. However, its inability to hold a useful item makes it quite susceptible to status and entry hazard damage, which can interfere with its ability to sweep; it is also held back by the existence of revenge killers like Choice Scarf Inteleon and Heliolisk and First Impression Sirfetch'd.

Swords Dance and 120-Base Power Multi-Attack combine to make Silvally-Ground a massive offensive threat. Rock Slide takes down Flying-types like Xatu and Talonflame; it also hits Mantine super effectively but does not OHKO at +2 without prior damage. Flame Charge turns Silvally-Ground into a sweeper, letting it boost its Speed while providing a coverage move for Grass-types, albeit a weak one. U-turn, on the other hand, can wear down checks such as Vaporeon and Rotom-C as they switch in, letting its Multi-Attack more easily break them the next time it comes in.

Spikers like Garbodor, Froslass, and the more niche Ferroseed can pave the way for a Silvally-Ground sweep, especially when paired with Knock Off users like Drapion and Passimian. Teammates that struggle with Water- or Grass-types, such as Swords Dance Talonflame and Nasty Plot Rotom-C, appreciate U-turn Silvally-Ground's ability to weaken those walls. Silvally-Ground appreciates having Flying-types like Xatu and Mantine weakened or removed before attempting to sweep; Fighting-types like Passimian and Sirfetch'd can force damage onto them and put them in range of +2 Rock Slide.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====

Defog can take advantage of Silvally-Ground's positive matchup versus entry hazard setters like Garbodor, Copperajah, and Diancie but is generally a waste of its offensive potential.

Checks and Counters
====

**Grass-types**: Rotom-C dislikes switching into Silvally-Ground's U-turn, but it is able to survive a +2 Flame Charge and OHKO back with Leaf Storm. Bulkier Grass-types like Decidueye and Dhelmise have access to recovery and can reliably fend off Silvally-Ground in the long-term.

**Water-types**: Vaporeon tanks one +2 Multi Attack and 2HKOes with Scald, preventing Silvally-Ground from getting an Attack and Speed boost if it is fully healthy.

**Physical Walls**: The combination of Stamina, Toxic, and Protect allows Mudsdale to stall out Silvally-Ground; Quagsire's Unaware lets it do the job as well. Talonflame's 4x weakness to Rock Slide makes it an unreliable answer, but it can revenge kill Silvally-Ground or pivot in on a Multi-Attack and chip it with U-turn.

**Entry Hazards**: Spikes can make it easier to offensively pressure Silvally-Ground or stall it out with Toxic poison due to its inability to run Leftovers or Heavy-Duty Boots. Toxic Spikes ruin its ability to sweep or pivot if they are not removed.

**Revenge Killers**: Choice Scarf Inteleon can outspeed and OHKO Silvally-Ground even after a Speed boost; Choice Scarf Heliolisk also outspeeds Silvally-Ground but cannot OHKO it. Without Flame Charge, Silvally-Ground can be revenge killed by a wider variety of fast offensive threats. Starmie and Choice Scarf Rotom-Mow can OHKO it, and Talonflame, Salazzle, and Choice Scarf Passimian are able to KO it after a moderate amount of chip damage.

Silvally-Ground is a threatening and versatile Pokemon; strong EdgeQuake coverage threatens most of the tier, and it can either act as a sweeper with Flame Charge or an offensive pivot with U-turn. It finds plenty of opportunities to come in and threaten NeverUsed NU staples such as Copperajah, Diancie, and Dragalge, and its bulk allows it to take one attack from walls like Vaporeon and subsequently break through them. However, its inability to hold an item makes it quite susceptible to status and entry hazard damage, which can interfere with its ability to sweep (probably note here too it means you can't hold a boosting item; this plays into your later point about the Rotom-C damage roll); it is also held back by the expstence existence of Choice Scarf users like Celebi, Heliolisk, and Inteleon Starmie (not the most relevant Choice Scarf user either, but Inteleon is just really not good, so I'd rather it not be included in an analysis) that can outspeed it even after a Flame Charge and does not appreciate Flame Charge's inability to OHKO Rotom-Mow Rotom-C after a Swords Dance. Finally, Levitate Bronzong stands up to anything Silvally-Ground can throw at it, particularly if it runs Iron Defense. Despite all of this, Silvally-Ground is a very threatening Pokemon that opponents must play around with extreme caution.

However, this sacrifices its ability to sweep; since it is a very threatening sweeper, this tends to not be worth it. (with how it's currently worded, as a reader I'd question why it's slashed in the first place if Flame Charge enables Silvally-Ground so darn much)

Spikes setters Spikers
like Garbodor and the more niche Ferroseed can pave the way for a Silvally-Ground sweep, especially when paired with Knock Off users like Drapion or and Passimian. Wallbreakers that can force Levitate Bronzong to take significant damage, such as Goodra and Exploud, make it far more possible for Silvally-Ground to sweep. Finally, Healing Wish from Celebi can give Silvally-Ground a second chance to wallbreak or sweep if it takes down a wall like Mudsdale or Celebi (Celebi isn't really a wall and has no status moves that would threaten Silvally-Ground anyhow. You could note something like Vileplume/Vaporeon/Talonflame here in its place.) but takes a crippling status move in the process.

includes some minor grammar fixes for later GP ease, QC 1/2 when implemented

oh i forgot to write the scarfers section ill do that

Scarf starmie sux and also always tries to trick the scarf whereas intel is actually good vs offense but fine

would u recommend i remove the slash of u-turn? It’s used a lot, honestly, and I wasn’t sure whether flame charge being better is just my personal opinion. If u want U-turn on it still i’ll work in something about its offensive pivoting making it more useful early and mid-game

yea it does but Inteleon is legit just absent in the tier, so I don't think mentioning it is worth it

I think I'd just reword the U-turn portion so it's less negative. I agree Flame Charge is amazing, but U-turn right now is made out to be significantly worse, and if we're gonna slash it, I don't think that's the move

Just to note given thats a huge teambuilding perk). Finally, Levitate Bronzong stands up to anything Silvally-Ground can throw at it, particularly if it runs Iron Defense.

**Grass-types**: Celebi and Rotom-C can survive one Flame Charge. U-turn can seriously cripple them but means Silvally-Ground is not running Flame Charge, allowing Celebi and Choice Scarf Rotom-C to consistently outspeed it. (rewrite this for current grass types, emphasis on mowtem, then the concern of decidueye + dhel surviving or absorbing Multi)

**Water-types**: Vaporeon tanks one +2 Multi Attack and 2HKOes with Scald, preventing Silvally-Ground from getting an Attack and Speed boost if it is fully healthy.

**Mudsdale**: The combination of Stamina, Toxic, and Protect allows Mudsdale to stall out Silvally-Ground. (No reference of Talonflame anywhere? I know its shaky but switching into Multi and following with wisp / punishing U-turn is very relevant as a check; it's even a revenge killer at times. You can rewrite this point as "Physical Walls" and include a Talonflame interaction, and you can even speak generally of walls like Vileplume and Quagsire given they can check / counter groundvally in some circumstances as well. Brownie points for including Tangela )

**Entry Hazards**: Spikes can make it easier to offensively pressure Silvally-Ground or stall it out with Toxic due to its inability to run Leftovers or Heavy-Duty Boots. Toxic Spikes ruin its ability to sweep or pivot if they are not removed.

**Choice Scarf Users**: Choice Scarf Celebi and Starmie can outspeed and OHKO Silvally-Ground even after a Speed boost; however, both struggle to switch directly into its attacks and can be caught off guard by U-turn. Choice Scarf Heliolisk also outspeeds Silvally-Ground but cannot OHKO it. (See above; rewrite for general revenge killers, both before and after a Flame Charge)

QC 2/2! If you have anything substantial to add regarding the lack of Celebi mentions just lmk but otherwise this should be good for GP after these updates.

This is good to go with only one GP check, but let me know over Discord if you have any questions about content changes in lieu of Bronzong's departure. GP 1/1 when implemented.
