Moves
========
Hydro Pump is Simipour's strongest STAB move and is able to deal good damage to any offensive Pokemon that doesn't resist it. Ice Beam provides coverage, hitting Grass-types such as Roselia that usually switch into Simipour, while also serving as a revenge killing tool against Flying- and Dragon-types. Grass Knot allows Simipour to also hit Water-types such as Poliwrath, which would otherwise be able to wall this set, while making Simipour able to effectively revenge kill the likes of Carracosta and Barbaracle. Superpower makes Simipour able to revenge kill threats such as Ursaring, Pawniard, and Regice with some prior damage; it is preferred over Low Kick to not miss the KO on them, and it allows Simipour to threaten special walls such as Lickilicky. Knock Off is used to cripple Simipour's common switch-ins such as Roselia, taking away their items, and to hit Grumpig for good damage. Hidden Power Electric can be used over Grass Knot to hit specially defensive Pelipper, which would otherwise wall the set.
Set Details
========
The given EV spread along with a Naive nature is used to outspeed other Choice Scarf users, such as Dodrio and Sawsbuck, and other fast Pokemon, such as Rain Dance Poliwrath, Victreebel under sun, Rock Polish Lunatoone, and Shell Smash Barbaracle, while still hitting as hard as possible. Choice Scarf further boosts Simipour's Speed, allowing it to take on most offensive Pokemon and revenge kill almost every setup sweeper. Torrent gives Simipour a significant boost in power to its STAB moves when it gets low on HP.
Usage Tips
========
Simipour should act as a revenge killer, as its high Special Attack, Choice Scarf-boosted Speed, and good coverage moves allow it to revenge kill offensive Pokemon such as Victreebel, Jumpluff, Torterra, Carracosta, and Barbaracle. Simipour should not be switched in on attacks because of its mediocre bulk; it should be brought in after a teammate gets KOed or with a slow Volt Switch or U-turn. Simipour should not try to predict an opposing switch when it gets brought in to revenge kill a foe, as it could be too risky. Hydro Pump should be spammed when the opponent doesn't carry special walls, such as Lickilicky, or Pokemon that are immune to Water-type coverage, such as Poliwrath. Try to preserve Simipour for the late-game, as it can serve as a good cleaner and is especially dangerous if the opponent carries a late-game sweeper such as Carracosta that can be dealt with by Simipour.
Team Options
========
Choice Scarf Simipour works best on offensive teams that need backup for common setup sweepers such as Carracosta and offensive powerhouses such as Victreebel. Wallbreakers such as Stoutland, Ursaring, and Torterra can take special walls that bother Simipour, such as Hypno and Lickilicky, out of the way, allowing it to spam Hydro Pump freely, or just open holes into the opposing team, creating opportunities for a late-game cleanup. Entry hazard support is appreciated by Simipour to wear down foes and have better chances at revenge killing them, or to attempt a sweep. Toxic Spikes are especially good to wear down special walls such as Grumpig and Hypno that might switch in on Simipour. Examples of entry hazards setters are Golem, Roselia, Whirlipede, and Piloswine. Electabuzz and Probopass can bring in Simipour on the field safely, preventing it from taking unnecessary damage thanks to their access to a slow Volt Switch. Pokemon that can check and KO Grass-types such as Roselia with ease are appreciated by Simipour. Examples are Fire-types such as Rapidash and Ninetales, Flying-types such as Jumpluff, and Steel-types such as Klang and Pawniard.
