Skarmory is one of the purest physical walls available, as its great defensive typing and superb physical bulk lets it take on most of the tier's dangerous physical attackers, such as Great Tusk, Melmetal, Zamazenta, and Roaring Moon. Iron Defense allows Skarmory to beat boosting physical attackers like Roaring Moon, Mega Mawile, Swords Dance Gliscor, and Kingambit. Body Press immediately threatens Kingambit, Mega Tyranitar, and Mega Lopunny while also doing significant general damage when boosted. It can also dissuade Pokemon such as Heatran and Terapagos from easily switching in to remove Skarmory or the hazards it sets. Spikes are quite effective in the metagame, as they hit and chip down several very prominent defensive Pokemon, most notably Ferrothorn, Gholdengo, and Melmetal. Skarmory also gets many opportunities to set them up thanks to its ability to easily switch into common Pokemon like Gliscor, Great Tusk, and Landorus-T. 96 Speed EVs allows Skarmory to outrun Adamant Kingambit and Ursaluna. Rocky Helmet chips down physical attackers such as Melmetal, Urshifu-R, and Great Tusk, the latter of which is especially notable as it will take damage should it try to spin away Skarmory's Spikes.

Skarmory's limitations as a defensive Pokemon lead it to fit best on bulky balance and stall teams, as they greatly appreciate Skarmory's prowess as a catch all physical wall that can use Spikes to force progress and notably beats several prominent stallbreakers, most notably Kingambit and Mega Mawile. While Skarmory has an impressive physically defensive profile, its poor special defense and reliance on Body Press to do damage leaves it helpless against prominent Special Attackers such as Gholdengo, Tapu Lele, Mega Diancie, and Calm Mind Clefable. The latter three are especially problematic, as many teams expect their Steel-type to at least help out versus them, whereas Skarmory needs a teammate to pick up the slack. Gholdengo and Galarian Slowking can help out with the Fairy-types, whilst Heatran or Ting-Lu can help out with opposing Gholdengo. These teammates appreciate Skarmory handling powerful physical threats such as Great Tusk, Garchomp, and Ursaluna. Skarmory also greatly appreciates a check to Fire-types such as Mega Charizard Y and Moltres, as they can switch into it without much trouble. Toxapex is an excellent partner that checks these dangerous Fire-types as well as Mega Diancie. Toxapex in turn greatly appreciates Skarmory checking dangerous Ground-types like Landorus-T and Great Tusk. Dragon-types such as Roaring Moon, Mega Latios, and Dragonite can come in on these threats multiple times, and they also take pressure off of Skarmory to beat Ogerpon-W, which can occasionally cause trouble for Skarmory when boosted. Skarmory in turn takes care of powerful physical threats that can trouble these teammates, such as Mega Tyranitar, Mega Lopunny, and Weavile. Electric-types such as Raging Bolt and Zapdos are also problematic, so Ground-types such as Gliscor, Landorus-T, and Ting-Lu are good partners.

Skarmory is one of the purest physical walls available thanks to its great defensive typing and superb physical bulk that can be augmented further by the Iron Defense + Body Press combination. This lets it take on most of the tier's dangerous physical attackers, such as Great Tusk, Melmetal, Zamazenta, and Roaring Moon. Iron Defense allows Skarmory to beat boosting physical attackers like Ursaluna, Mega Mawile, Swords Dance Gliscor, and Kingambit. Body Press immediately threatens Kingambit, Mega Tyranitar, and Mega Lopunny while also doing significant general damage when boosted. It can also dissuade Pokemon such as Great Tusk and Terapagos from easily switching in to remove hazardsmention how it prevents pokemon like heatran or raging bolt from directly switching in to remove boosted skarm. Spikes are quite effective in National Dex the tier, as they hit and chip down several very prominent defensive Pokemon, most notably Ferrothorn, Gholdengo, and Melmetal mention how skarm's longevity makes it more appealing than stealth rock since it can usually get multiple layers up. 96 Speed EVs allows Skarmory to outrun Adamant Kingambit and Ursaluna, therefore letting it Iron Defense before they can act and beat them reliably. Rocky Helmet chips down physical attackers such as Melmetal, Urshifu-RS no S needed, and Great Tusk, the latter of which is especially notable as it will take damage should it try to spin away Skarmory's Spikes could mention the same thing happening with pagos's tera shell. While niche, Sturdy allows Skarmory to live any one hit from full and can be situationally useful in getting an extra Spike or Rocky Helmet chip off before going down. filler

Skarmory's limitations as a defensive Pokemon lead it to fit best on bulky balance and stall teams, as its teammates on such teams can help shore up its poor Special Defense and passivity into certain Pokemon that resist Fighting Body Press. These teams in turn greatly appreciate Skarmory's prowess as a catch all physical wall that notably beats several prominent stallbreakers, most notably Ursaluna and Mega Mawile. While Skarmory has an impressive physically defensive profile, its poor special defense and reliance on Body Press to do damage leaves it helpless against prominent Special Attackers such as Gholdengo, Tapu Lele, Mega Diancie, and Calm Mind Clefable. The latter three are especially problematic, as many teams expect their Steel-type to at least help out versus them, whereas Skarmory needs a teammate to pick up the slack, (AC) since it is often muscled through by these threats. Gholdengo and Galarian Slowking can help out with the Fairy-types, whilst Gliscor Heatran gliscor aint the best check ngl; heatran is also another fire check or Clodsire can help out with opposing Gholdengo. These teammates appreciate Skarmory handling powerful physical threats such as Great Tusk, Garchomp, and Ursaluna. Skarmory also greatly appreciates a check to Fire-types such as Mega Charizard Y and Moltres, as they can switch into it without much trouble. Dragon-types such as Roaring Moon, Mega Latios, and Dragonite can come in on these threats multiple times due to their recovery moves, and they also take pressure off of Skarmory to beat Ogerpon-W, which can occasionally cause trouble for Skarmory when boosted. They also come in on Zapdos, which is another poor matchup for Skarmory. Skarmory in turn takes care of powerful physical threats that can trouble these teammates, such as Mega Tyranitar, Mega Lopunny, and Weavile.

Impish Nature bit nitpicky but bold is better for less confusion damage and it doesn’t affect bp

Skarmory is one of the purest physical walls available thanks to its great defensive typing and superb physical bulk that can be augmented further by the Iron Defense+Body Press combination you touch on this later with the sentence on idbp. This lets it take on most of the tier's dangerous physical attackers, such as Great Tusk, Melmetal, Zamazenta, and Roaring Moon. I say combine these 2 sentences and also touch on the fact that Skarm can also setup spikes well due to being able to trade hazards with stuff like Gliscor / tusk or whatever else effectively as that’s a large part of the mon Iron Defense allows Skarmory to beat boosting physical attackers like Ursaluna I think you can touch on something a bit more relevant like moon, Mega Mawile, Swords Dance Gliscor, and Kingambit. Body Press immediately threatens Kingambit, Mega Tyranitar, and Mega Lopunny while also doing significant general damage when boosted. It can also dissuade Pokemon such as Heatran, Raging Bolt, Great Tusk Bolt takes so little damage that it doesn’t matter and tusk wants nothing to do with switching into skarm and Terapagos from easily switching in to remove Skarmory or the hazards it sets. Spikes are quite effective in the metagame, as they hit and chip down several very prominent defensive Pokemon, most notably Ferrothorn, Gholdengo, and Melmetal make this more about skarm itself rather than spikes in the metagame; the mon examples are fine but this can apply to any spiker, try saying something like how skarm can easily spike on common removal like tusk or lando or even how well it forces switches vs. physical threats to get up spikes. 96 Speed EVs allows Skarmory to outrun Adamant Kingambit and Ursaluna, therefore letting it Iron Defense before they can act and beat them reliably repetition + probably could be inferred anyway from what you said about iron defense earlier. Rocky Helmet chips down physical attackers such as Melmetal, Urshifu-R, and Great Tusk, the latter of which is especially notable as it will take damage should it try to spin away Skarmory's Spikes. While riskier, it also does the same thing to Terapagos and therefore can break Tera Shell. not a relevant interaction

Skarmory's limitations as a defensive Pokemon lead it to fit best on bulky balance and stall teams, as its teammates on such teams can help shore up its poor Special Defense and passivity into certain Pokemon that resist Body Press. you go more in depth in this later as they These teams in turn greatly appreciate Skarmory's prowess as a catch all physical wall that notably beats several prominent stallbreakers, most notably Ursaluna Kingambit and Mega Mawile. mention its abilities as a good spike setter to force progress much easier for these fat teams (vs. like offense) While Skarmory has an impressive physically defensive profile, its poor special defense and reliance on Body Press to do damage leaves it helpless against prominent Special Attackers such as Gholdengo, Tapu Lele, Mega Diancie, and Calm Mind Clefable, since these threats can often muscle past it. The latter three are especially problematic, as many teams expect their Steel-type to at least help out versus them, whereas Skarmory needs a teammate to pick up the slack good mention btw most people would miss this. Gholdengo and Galarian Slowking can help out with the Fairy-types, whilst Heatran or Clodsire Ting-Lu clodsire is just so, so bad can help out with opposing Gholdengo. The dragons? not really, if u want to talk about Electrics in its own sentence with grounds that support it then sure Skarmory in turn takes care of powerful physical threats that can trouble these teammates, such as Mega Tyranitar, Mega Lopunny, and Weavile. give a section to Toxapex as it’s pretty much needed as a teammate on like 98% of skarm structures including stall, notes about it would be that it shores up rlly bad skarm mus like yard / dia / Volc / pagos / ival etc and in return skarm is good at checking huge threats to pex like chomp / Gliscor / moon, it’s just a really good defensive core with skarm that needs to be mentioned here
