Hi everybody, this is yogo here and this is my first time ever posting a team on RMT. The team that I am sharing is a really fun and easy to use team that got me till 1500 when I was stuck at 1300s trying different kinds of teams and failing. I am still a new player to competitive pokemon although I used to play the game a lot during my childhood but it used to be casually. I still love pokemon and want to get better at it that's why I'm asking your opinions on this team.

Team

Scizor is the main star of this team and also my favorite pokemon. It has not been seeing as much usage in OU as it used to, though its bullet punches still remains a threat.

Scizor only has one weakness and that is fire. And wouldn't u know it, Heatran is immune to it! I was scrolling through to find a fire type that didn't override with Scizor's steel typing but then I choose Heatran because all of the other fire types didn't synergize well with it. Welcome aboard, Lava guy.

Rillaboom is there as an offensive powerhouse and a support pokemon in its ability Grassy Surge, providing extra recovery to the team, especially Heatran since it lacks reliable recovery. As an added bonus it weakens damage from ground moves which Heatran really appreciates.

Do I have to explain why I added Lando? The thing is a great role compressor, providing unmatched defensive utility in setting up rocks, u-turning and knocking off opposing Pokémon's items and in general swapping into most physical attackers.

Now I was looking for a Blacephalon, Dragapult and a rain team check and the first thing that came into my mind was Toxapex. The thing is a great mixed sponge and provides toxic spikes and knock off support for the team.

Finally after adding all the necessary Pokémon's I was looking for a defogger and a pivot capable of checking Kartana and Gapdos, and Zapdos fit that role perfectly.

Sets:

Kunai Knife (Scizor) @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 172 Def / 88 SpD
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- Roost

The following EVs ensure that Scizor doesn't get 2hitKO'd by CB Weavile's low kick after rocks without leftovers recovery and ensuring to almost never get 2hitKO'd by any of Scarf Tapu Lele's moves

Storming in (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Toxic

Making Heatran as specially bulky as possible

KO machine (Rillaboom) @ Choice Band
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Grassy Glide
- Knock Off
- Wood Hammer
- U-turn

This set makes Rillaboom hit super hard achieving feats like OHKOing Utility Clefable and 2HItKOing Toxapex with wood hammer

Guten Tag (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Knock Off

Making Landorus-t as physically bulky as possible while still outspeeding threats such as Adamant Bisharp and Timid base 60s

The Pex (Toxapex) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Knock Off
- Recover
- Haze
- Toxic Spikes

A different Toxapex approach, running max spdef for mons like Blacephalon and Dragapult.

Thundi Boy (Zapdos) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Static
EVs: 248 HP / 220 Def / 40 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Hurricane
- Roost
- Defog

The usual Zapdos set with 40 speed to outspeed Adamant Rillaboom. The rest go into def to take hits better.

Threats:

Mamoswine

1643868357700.png

By far the biggest threat is Mamoswine because it is able to hit every single one of my
mons for super effective damage bar Scizor, and even though my Scizor is physically defensive it gets
2HitKO'd.

Nidoking

1643868657829.png

This thing is a pain for my team to deal with since it has coverage for all my mons.
But this thing is not that hard to handle since almost all my mons can deal heavy damage
to it.

That's it guys I hope u will try out my team and help me with the flaws of this team. This is one of the few first teams I have not swapped within a week and its really been the key to my success in ladder and being able to sit consistently at the 1500s.

Thank You for seeing my team

Might you consider superpower/brick break on Sciozr instead of roost? It could hit a few steels you would previously be walled by. It also could prevent some funny buisness mith magnet pull Magnezone. Imo superpower is better, but you should try both out.

roost is more preferred as it lets you to heal off damage taken while setting up, plus he already has heatran and lando to handle the steels
