Slither Wing boxes out its opposition! Thanks to its great typing, access to reliable recovery, and solid utility, Slither Wing finds its home as a great check to many threats like Heatran and Hisuian Samurott that otherwise harass Bug teams. Close Combat stings foes like Garganacl, Hisuian Goodra, Heatran, and Archaludon. Will-O-Wisp allows Slither Wing to tame foes like Dragonite and Azumarill attempting to set up in front of it. Morning Sun allows Slither Wing to stay healthy against barrages of attacks from the likes of Iron Hands and Kleavor after a Will-O-Wisp burn. U-turn allows Slither Wing to get out of disadvantageous matchups like against Gholdengo, while Flare Blitz punishes Gholdengo and other Steel-types like Klefki and Skarmory attempting to take on the bug. Slither Wing appreciates teammates that cover its bad matchups, so picks like Volcarona and Scizor that feast on Fairy-types and Choice Scarf Kleavor to slice Fire-types are great alongside it. Entry hazard setters like the aforementioned Kleavor, as well as Forretress, also work well to augment Slither Wing's passive damage.

(Just mention what CC does and not it slamming Wisp Switch ins because I'm see right now not wisp switch ins, but sacks into CC more than anything.) Speaking of it, Will-O-Wisp allows Slither Wing to tame foes like Dragonite and Azumarill attempting to set up in front of it. Morning Sun allows Slither Wing to stay healthy against barrages of attacks from the likes of Bisharp Iron Hands and Kleavor after Will-O-Wisp. (Both are doing more than 50% if you're just trying to morning sun, also you would just, OHKO Bisharp with CC) U-turn allows Slither Wing to get out of disadvantageous matchups like against Gholdengo, while Flare Blitz punishes Gholdengo and other Steel-types like Klefki and Corviknight (Brave Bird scary) Skarmory attempting to take on the bug. Slither Wing appreciates teammates that cover its bad matchups, so picks like Volcarona and Scizor that feast on Fairy-types and Choice Scarf Kleavor to slice Fire-types are great alongside it. Entry hazard setters like the aforementioned Kleavor, as well as Forretress, also work well to augment Slither Wing's passive damage.
