[OVERVIEW]
Slowking's great typing, excellent ability in Regenerator, and special bulk make it one of the most reliable pivots and special walls in the metagame, and these traits with the combination of Future Sight and Teleport let it help its teammates to force progress against opposing teams. Regenerator allows Slowking to keep itself healthy, which helps it switch into threats more easily and gives it more opportunities to use Future Sight. With its great bulk and defensive typing, Slowking is able to check threatening specially offensive Pokemon such as Heatran, Nidoking, Tapu Lele, and Latios and use them as Future Sight fodders. However, Slowking is very vulnerable to physical wallbreakers like Landorus-T and Garchomp, as its physical bulk is mediocre and doesn't allow it to tank strong hits from them. Slowking's typing and mediocre physical bulk also leave it very vulnerable to Knock Off and U-turn. This is an issue, as these moves are very frequently run and often safe to use, further limiting Slowking's utility as a defensive pivot. In addition, Toxic is worrisome, as it forces Slowking to use Slack Off more often and limits its potential to consistently switch into dangerous Pokemon such as the aforementioned Heatran, Nidoking, and Tapu Lele.

[SET COMMENTS]
Scald is a reliable STAB move and can severely punish potential checks such as Rillaboom, Kartana, Zeraora, and Ferrothorn with a burn if they attempt to hard switch into it. Slack Off lets Slowking stay healthy to reliably check special wallbreakers without having to rely on Teleport or switches. Future Sight pressures opposing teams and works well with Slowking's teammates to increase their wallbreaking potential and force progress. Teleport is not only a solid pivoting option, but it works well in tandem with Future Sight, as Slowking can bring in a more offensive teammate safely to capitalize on the Future Sight. Heavy-Duty Boots lets Slowking pivot in more freely without getting whittled down by entry hazards and helps to maintain healing from Regenerator. 0 Speed IVs with a Sassy Nature allow for it to underspeed or Speed tie with opposing Slowking and Slowbro with Teleport.

Slowking fits best on bulky offense and balance, as it is able to check dangerous Pokemon such as Heatran and Nidoking, which are threatening to those team archetypes, while being able to maintain momentum. A lot of offensive Pokemon appreciate the additional pressure of Future Sight as well as Slowking's ability to bring them in safely with Teleport. Garchomp likes having its defensive answers like Tangrowth and Landorus-T pressured by Future Sight, providing it with easier wallbreaking opportunities. Slowking is weak to strong physical attackers such as Rillaboom and Kartana, so switch-ins like Tangrowth and Mandibuzz make great partners; in return, Slowking checks problematic Pokemon such as Heatran for them. Dark- and Ghost-types such as Dragapult and Hydreigon can threaten Slowking, making Mandibuzz and Clefable effective partners. In return, Slowking can check Heatran, Tapu Lele, and Nidoking for them. Additionally, Clefable can capitalize on Dark-types such as Hydreigon and Mandibuzz that Slowking pivots against. Electric-types such as Tapu Koko and Zeraora are threatening, making defensive Landorus-T and Grass-types like Ferrothorn and the aforementioned Tangrowth good partners that can help keep them at bay. When pivoted into battle via Teleport, both Landorus-T and Ferrothorn can force progress with their own Knock Off or set their respective entry hazards. Furthermore, Slowking checks Tapu Lele, Heatran, and Nidoking for them in return.

Flamethrower is a great option to make Slowking a lure to Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, but it comes at the opportunity cost of pressuring the opposing team with Future Sight. Thunder Wave is another good option to cripple threatening setup sweepers such as Hydreigon and Nasty Plot variants of Tornadus-T, but losing the utility of Future Sight for it is not recommended.

Checks and Counters
====

**Grass-types**: Common Grass-types like Rillaboom and Kartana threaten Slowking with their super effective STAB options. Ferrothorn is especially annoying, as it can use Slowking as Spikes fodder and it can dish out a strong Power Whip. However, all of them have to fear a possible burn by Scald.

**Electric-types**: Tapu Koko, Zapdos, and Zeraora threaten Slowking with their respective STAB moves and can easily wear it down with pivoting moves. However, Zeraora can't risk switching into a Scald.

**Ghost-types**: Dragapult and Aegislash threaten Slowking with their strong STAB moves, but the former has to be wary of a Scald burn if it's running Dragon Darts.

**Dark-types**: Both Hydreigon and Mandibuzz threaten Slowking, as the former isn't scared by Scald and can use it as setup fodder, while the latter can threaten a Knock Off to remove its Heavy-Duty Boots.

**Physical Wallbreakers**: Physical wallbreakers such as Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Melmetal can all easily overwhelm Slowking. Landorus-T can easily pivot with U-turn on it or use Knock Off, Garchomp can dish out heavy damage with its STAB moves, and Melmetal can overwhelm it with coverage options. However, they must be wary of Scald's burn chance.

**Toxic**: Toxic is annoying for Slowking, as it limits its utility on the field by forcing more switches and uses of Slack Off. Although Slowking can normally check it, Heatran can lure in Slowking and cripple it with a debilitating Toxic.

[Overview]
- Slowkings great typing, excellent ability in Regenerator, and special bulk makes it one of the most reliable pivots and special walls in the metagame OU tier. We want to emphasize Slowking's special bulk in general alongside Futureport, which is a gigantic appeal of it as a pivot.

- With these traits, Slowking is enabled to check threating Pokemon such as Heatran, Nidoking, and Latios. Tapu Lele is a solid mention here too given its rising popularity.

- Slowking helps its teammates to pressure opposing teams with the combination of Future Sight and Teleport. This is a pretty big appeal of Slowking too, and is something we probably want to have in the first bullet point somewhere. In addition, Regenerator lets it get off Futureports a lot more liberally.

- However, Slowking is vulnerable to strong common Pokemon in the metagame such as Rillaboom, Tapu Koko, Hydreigon, and Zeraora. These are pretty obvious mentions since they're all super effective against it; I'd actually be more pressed to mention that Slowking is more pressured by physical wallbreakers in general which is more applicable in a vacuum and highlights Slowking's mediocre physical bulk considerably better.

- Slowkings typing and mediocre physical bulk leaves it vulnerable to Knock Off, as it does take huge damage while its item gets removed. It's also super vulnerable to U-turn, which as a specially bulky Pokemon that's supposed to pivot, can be really bad.

[SET COMMENTS]

- Future Sight pressures opposing teams and forces switches and works well with Slowkings teammates to increase their breaking potential. When does it find Future Sight opportunities? Since it's a specially defensive pivot that Futureports, perhaps highlight this niche?

- Teleport works well in tandem with Future Sight, as Slowking can bring in a more offensive teammate safely after using Future Sight.

- Heavy-Duty Boots gives Slowking more longevity and helps it to stay healthy when entry hazards are up. The focus is a teensy bit wrong here, namely with the first thing about longevity, HDB are meant to allow for it to pivot more liberally without the threat of hazards to wear it down and either mitigate its Regenerator recovery, or make switch-ins more difficult.

- 0 IVs with a Sassy Nature helps Slowkings partners to come in safely with the help of Teleport and allows for it to underspeed or speed tie opposing Slowking and Slowbro with Teleport.

Be sure to also mention how this set operates in general! The SpDef is primarily important as it is what allows Slowking to carve a niche as a pivot in the first place (aside from the obvious Futureport).

Teammates:
- Slowking fits best on more bulkier builds such as bulky offense and balance, as it is able to check dangerous Pokemon such as Heatran and Nidoking, which are threatening to those team archetypes, while being able to keep up momentum. It also assists its teammates with Future Sight
and Teleport. Any good examples here?

- Slowking is weak to strong Grass-types such as Rillaboom and Kartana so Corviknight and Tangrowth make up for great partners; in return, Slowking checks problematic Pokemon such as Heatran and Nidoking for them. Nidoking isn't really a giant problem for Corviknight unless it's running Flamethrower; though, being able to play around Heatran is a pretty nice appeal. If anything I think maybe having Mandibuzz over Corviknight would be a bit better, which is also good given that Mandibuzz does a better job checking things like Dragapult too.

- Slowking is vulnerable to Dark-types like Hydreigon so Mandibuzz and Clefable makes up for a great partners, Slowking checks Tapu Lele for Mandibuzz and moreover Heatran and Nidoking for Clefable. I think Mandibuzz can easily be compressed into the above bullet point, as it's also a sound Rillaboom/Kartana check.

- Electric-types such as Tapu Koko and Zeraora are threatening, so Ground-types like defensive Landorus-T, and Grass-types such as Ferrothorn, and Tangrowth can help in keeping them at bay. Slowking checks Tapu Lele, Heatran, and Nidoking for them. Slowking can use Teleport on these switch-ins and let in these Pokemon to Do Their Thing.™ As a pivot, highlighting this is important.

- A lot of offensive Pokemon appreciate the additional pressure of Future Sight as well as Slowking's ability to bring them in safely. Pokemon such as Kartana likes Skarmory, Zapdos, and Tornadus-T weakened in order to increase its breaking potential as well as Garchomp likes it having defensive answers like Tangrowth and Landorus-T being weakened. I think with this section specifically, it's important to focus on what Slowking teleports out on, and consider wallbreakers that could benefit from these switch-ins. Think about things like Dark-types (Hydreigon/Mandibuzz), Zapdos, etc. Tapu Koko and Zeraora are a couple examples that come to mind.

In general, stressing that Slowking can pivot around switch-ins into teammates and giving them opportunities to freely dish out utility/damage is super important, especially in tandem with Future Sight.

**Grass-types**: Common Grass-types like Rillaboom and Kartana threaten Slowking with their super effective STAB options. Ferrothorn is especially annoying as it can use Slowking as Spikes fodder and it can dish out a strong Power Whip into its direction. But all of them have to fear a possible burn by Slowkings STAB move in Scald.

**Electric-types**: Tapu Koko and Zeraora threaten Slowking with their respective STABs in Thunderbolt and Plasma Fist, they can make use of U-turn and Volt Switch and create momentum. Zapdos also threatens Slowking with its STAB option. Zeraora can't really risk swapping hard into a Scald, but these Pokemon can easily wear it down utilizing their momentum moves.

**Ghosty-types**: Dragapult and Aegislash threaten Slowking with their strong STAB moves, but they have to fear a Scald burn or a potential paralysis by Thunder Wave as it makes them less effective for the rest of the game.

**Dark-types**: Both, Hydreigon and Mandibuzz threaten Slowking, as the former can use it as setup fodder and the latter dishes out a Knock Off to remove its Heavy-Duty Boots. Dark-types are also immune to Future Sight which hinders Slowking in making any progress during the game. Future Sight operates through forcing a "checkmate". Although Hydreigon and Mandibuzz are immune to Future Sight, they're incredibly dissuaded by, for example, something like Tapu Koko threatening their switch-in with Dazzling Gleam, which is how Future Sight makes progress in the first place. Plus, these Pokemon aren't really too scared by Scald, so they can generally swap in with ease.

I'd like to see a highlight of Toxic and Physical Wallbreakers. The former limits its utility on the field, forcing switches and Slack Offs more often to stay healthy, and the latter can easily overwhelm its mediocre physical bulk.

- Slowkings great typing, excellent ability in Regenerator, and special bulk makes it one of the most reliable pivots and special walls in the metagame and let it is able to help its offensive teammates to pressure force progress against opposing teams with the combination of Future Sight and Teleport.

- Additionally, Regenerator helps it to get off a Future Sight and Teleport more easily. It's not that it helps it get it off more easily, it's that it lets Slowking afford to use Future Sight more often, since it can simultaneously heal and pivot.

- With its great special bulk and defensive typing these traits, Slowking is able to enabled to check threatening specially offensive Pokemon such as Heatran, Nidoking, Tapu Lele, and Latios.

- However, Slowking is very vulnerable to physical wallbreakers like what in the metagame, as Slowking's physical bulk is very mediocre and doesn't allow it to tank strong hits from them.

- Slowking's typing and mediocre physical bulk also leaves it very vulnerable to Knock Off, and it's also vulnerable to and U-turn, because it as a specially bulky pivot can't take U-turn hits well. The latter is especially a problem since it can't outheal U-turn at all reliably with Regenerator, which is more what I meant by "can't take U-turn hits well".

I'd mention its Toxic weakness here too, which can really limit its utility and make it less reliable in a vacuum.

[SET COMMENTS]

- Future Sight pressures opposing teams and forces switches and works well with Slowkings teammates to increase their breaking potential and force progress. As example: It can use Future Sight on Zapdos and subsequently switch out with the use of Teleport to get in its teammate Kartana safely to put more pressure on Zapdos in checking Kartana. I think this example is weird in execution, mainly because Zapdos switches into Slowking, you Teleport on the Discharge, then your Kartana is in to Knock Off, but Kartana doesn't put it in that checkmate situation because Zapdos can tank both the Future Sight and the first Knock Off, and then punish it back with a potential paralysis or just outright KO it with Heat Wave/Hurricane.

- Teleport works well in tandem with Future Sight, as Slowking can bring in a more offensive teammate safely after using Future Sight.

- Heavy-Duty Boots gives Slowking the opportunities to pivot in more freely without being threatened by getting whittled down by entry hazards and helps to keep up the Recovery with Regenerator to have an easier time switching.

- 0 IVs with a Sassy Nature allows for it to underspeed or Speed tie with opposing Slowking and Slowbro with Teleport.

- The nature in combination with its EV spread in its HP and Special Defense allow Slowking to maximizes its ability as a Pivot. We don't need this; we know what this spread is for based on the overview.

I think I'd like to see an explanation on Slack Off. Most people on preview may see this and think "why does this need Slack Off if it can heal using Regenerator?" The simple answer is that it lets Slowking stay healthy to reliably check targets it's aiming to answer, and have a more reliable option to recover instantly without relying on Teleport/switching for healing. It's vital to the set and I think it can be justifiably explained here.

Teammates:
- Slowking fits best on bulky offense and balance, as it is able to check dangerous Pokemon such as Heatran and Nidoking which are threatening to those team archetypes, while being able to maintain momentum. It also assists its teammates with Future Sight and Teleport such as Kartana, Garchomp, and Mandibuzz.

- Slowking is weak to strong physical Pokemon such as Rillaboom, Kartana, and Dragapult so Tangrowth and Mandibuzz, make up for great partners; in return, Slowking checks problematic Pokemon such as Heatran and for them. In retrospect, maybe put Dragapult below here and change it to Dark- and Ghost-type Pokemon, so you can make this bullet point more concise. As it is right now, it implies Dragapult operates as a physical attacker, which it doesn't.

- Slowking is vulnerable to Dark-types like Hydreigon therefore Clefable makes up for a great partner to keep it in check. Slowking checks Heatran and Nidoking for Clefable and moreover it deals with Tapu Lele for it. you can just put the Clefable part of the last bullet point up here to keep things concise.

Slowking pivots into Landorus-T and Ferrothorn through Koko/Zera, and the latter can force progress with Knock Off or can Spike stack. The former can set rocks/gain more momentum, too.

- A lot of offensive Pokemon appreciate the additional pressure of Future Sight as well as Slowking's ability to bring them in safely with Teleport. Garchomp likes having its defensive answers like Tangrowth and Landorus-T pressured by Future Sight, providing it with easier wallbreaking opportunities. Calm Mind Clefable can capitalize on Dark-types such as Hydreigon and Mandibuzz that Slowking pivots against, while Slowking can handle Heatran and Nidoking for Clefable. Nasty Plot Hydreigon likes having opposing Clefable weakened by Future Sight. Move this entire bullet point to be the 2nd bullet point.

- Teleport is not only a solid pivoting option, but it works well in tandem with Future Sight, as Slowking can bring in a more offensive teammate safely to capitalize upon it. This should help with sentence flow while getting the point across a bit better.

- Heavy-Duty Boots gives Slowking the opportunities to pivot in more freely without being threatened by getting whittled down by entry hazards and helps to maintain healing from Regenerator. keep up the Recovery with Regenerator to have an easier time switching. Again, just a formatting change to make the point more clear.

- 0 IVs with a Sassy Nature allows for it to underspeed or Speed tie with opposing Slowking and Slowbro with Teleport.

- Slack Off lets Slowking stay healthy to reliably check specially-oriented wallbreakers its targets, which it aims to answer and to have a more reliable option to recovery instantly without having to rely on Teleport and switching out, and it is very vital to this set. "Targets, which it aims to answer" is a little redundant, so again just helping to make this point more clear.

- Slowking is vulnerable to Dark-types like Hydreigon, therefore Clefable makes up for a great partner to keep it in check. This sentence in general is not really necessary, since you explain in better detail how Clefable operates alongside Slowking. Slowking can pivots into Landorus-T and Ferrothorn against Tapu Koko and Zeraora through utilizing Teleport. where the When pivoted into, both Landorus-T and Ferrothorn can force progress with their own Knock Off or set their respective hazards can stack Spikes and the former can set up Stealth Rocks and can help with gaining momentum as well. Scald is Slowking's primary Water-type move, as it has very limited switch-ins. Its burn chance has the potential to severely punish potential offensive checks such as Rillaboom, Kartana, Zeraora, and Ferrothorn if they attempt to switch hard into it Ferrothorn isn't really offensive. Future Sight pressures opposing teams and forces switches and works well with Slowkings teammates to increase their wallbreaking potential and force progress. Teleport is not only a solid pivoting option, but it works well in tandem with Future Sight, as Slowking can bring in a more offensive teammate safely to capitalize upon it. Heavy-Duty Boots gives Slowking the opportunities to pivot in more freely without being threatened by getting whittled down by entry hazards and helps to maintain healing from Regenerator. 0 IVs with a Sassy Nature allows for it to underspeed or Speed tie with opposing Slowking and Slowbro with Teleport. Slack Off lets Slowking stay healthy to reliably check specially-oriented wallbreakers and to have a more reliable option to recover instantly without having to rely on Teleport or switches for healing and switching out.

Slowking is weak to strong physical Pokemon such as Rillaboom and Kartana, so Tangrowth and Mandibuzz, make up for great partners; in return, Slowking checks problematic Pokemon such as Heatran for them. Dark- and Ghost-types such as Dragapult and Hydreigon can threaten Slowking, making Mandibuzz an effective partner as well. Slowking checks Heatran, Tapu Lele, and Nidoking for Clefable. Additionally, Calm Mind Clefable can capitalize on Dark-types such as Hydreigon and Mandibuzz that Slowking pivots against I don't see a reason to specify CM. SR, Knock, Twave, and especially just Life Orb attacks can all take advantage. Electric-types such as Tapu Koko and Zeraora are threatening, defensive Landorus-T, and Grass-types such as Ferrothorn, and the aforementioned Tangrowth can help in keeping them at bay. Slowking can pivot into Landorus-T and Ferrothorn against Tapu Koko and Zeraora through utilizing Teleport. When pivoted into, both Landorus-T and Ferrothorn can force progress with their own Knock Off or set their respective hazards. Slowking checks Tapu Lele, Heatran, and Nidoking for them in return.

Flamethrower is a great option to lure in Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, but it comes at the opportunity cost to pressure the opposing team with Future Sight. Thunder Wave is another good option to hit cripple threatening setup sweepers such as Hydreigon and Nasty Plot variants of Tornadus-T to stop their sweeping potential, but losing the utility of Future Sight is not recommended.

Checks and Counters
====

**Grass-types**: Common Grass-types like Rillaboom and Kartana threaten Slowking with their super effective STAB options. Ferrothorn is especially annoying as it can use Slowking as Spikes fodder and it can dish out a strong Power Whip. But all of them have to fear a possible burn by Slowkings STAB move in Scald.

**Electric-types**: Tapu Koko, Zapdos, and Zeraora threaten Slowking with their respective STABs and can easily wear it down with momentum moves. However, Zeraora can't risk switching into a Scald.

**Ghost-types**: Dragapult and Aegislash threaten Slowking with their strong STAB moves, but the former has to fear a Scald burn if it's running Dragon Darts.

**Dark-types**: Both, Hydreigon and Mandibuzz threaten Slowking, as the former isn't scared by Scald and can use it as setup fodder and while the latter can threaten a Knock Off to remove its Heavy-Duty Boots. Hydreigon isn't scared by Scald, so it can generally swap in with ease and use it as wallbreaking fodder. You don't really need to mention that it's setup fodder twice.

**Physical Wallbreakers**: Physically based Wallbreakers such as Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Melmetal can all easily overwhelm Slowking. Landorus-T can easily U-turn on it or use Knock Off, Garchomp can dish out heavy damage with its STABs, and Melmetal can overwhelm it with coverage options. Make a point that they all need to be wary of Scald's burn chance.

**Toxic**: Toxic is annoying for Slowking, as it limits the utility on the field, which forces more switches and the increased use of Slack Off. Although Slowking can normally check it, Heatran can lure in Slowking and threaten it with a debilitating Toxic.

Slowking's (added apostrophe) great typing, excellent ability in Regenerator, and special bulk makes it one of the most reliable pivots and special walls in the metagame, (AC) and these traits with the combination of Future Sight and Teleport let it help its teammates to force progress against opposing teams with the combination of Future Sight and Teleport. Regenerator allows Slowking to keep itself healthy, (AC) which helps it switch into threats more easily and gives it more opportunities to use Future Sight. With its great bulk and defensive typing, (AC) Slowking is able to check threatening specially offensive Pokemon such as Heatran, Nidoking, Tapu Lele, and Latios and use them as Future Sight fodder. However, Slowking is very vulnerable to physical wallbreakers like Landorus-T and Garchomp, as Slowking's its physical bulk is mediocre and doesn't allow it to tank strong hits from them. Slowking's typing and mediocre physical bulk also leave it very vulnerable to Knock Off and U-turn. This is an issue, as these moves are very frequently run and often safe to use, further limiting Slowking's utility as a defensive pivot. In addition, Toxic is worrisome, as it forces it Slowking to use Slack Off more often and limits its potential to consistently switch into dangerous Pokemon such as the aforementioned Heatran, Nidoking, and Tapu Lele.
