Gen 7 SM OU: Minior Rain Offence Team

Introduction:

Hey, I'm Depolox and I am relatively new to the competitive Pokemon scene. I played pokemon games since I was a kid and kinda went out of it after Sun and Moon. This is why I don't play Sword and Shield OU, as there are so many Pokemon I have no ideas about, and I also think it's a bit stale. Anyways, one important fact about myself: I am really bad at team building. All of the teams that I built have all been trashed. This is why I chose a rain team, it's easy to build.

The Team:

As I said, rain teams are really easy to make. You of course need the Pelipper and Mega Swampert, so that's already two down. Then, I added Manaphy, as it can be a scary sweeper with tail glow. After I decided to add a bulky defensive mon, so I added Ferrothorn. As a defogger and a pivot, I used Tornadus-T, and finally, I added Minior. I used Minior on a premade team I got from Smogon forums, and ever since I loved using it. There are definitely better Shell Smashers than Minior, but after Shield down, Minior gets so much speed and power its amazing. It definitely does not deserve NU in my opinion, but yet again, I am new to the competitive scene.

Pelipper (M) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
- Hurricane
- U-turn
- Roost
- Scald

The entry to the team most of the time, of course. I don't know if it needs an introduction, but it's a reliable rain setter that can tank a few shots from rock type moves, and if I predict an electric move coming, I can switch over to Swampert easily. The spread is pretty self-explanatory, it's so that it can be as defensive it can, as I, most of the time, won't be using it to attack. Hurricane and Scald are hard-hitting stab moves, U-turn is to get out of unfavorable matchups and roost is just to make it live as long as it can.

Bert (Swampert-Mega) @ Swampertite
Ability: Swift Swim
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Ice Punch
- Low Kick

Here's the most important Pokemon of the team, as it usually would deal the most damage. In rain in outspeeds many pokemon. It has a really good attack stat, so it will do a lot on most opponents. I went with an all out attacker because I want to make it do as much damage as it can, and let other mons do stuff like stealth rock and such. Earthquake takes care of most electric mons it switches into, and waterfall is just a hard-hitting stab attack. Ice punch is to counter grass and flying types that are a threat to it, although it doesn't do too much so I would only use it if the mon is at half health or something. Low kick is also a move that I might use if it is effective against the opponent. This moveslot is always open to change.

Manaphy @ Waterium Z
Ability: Hydration
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 236 SpA / 24 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Tail Glow
- Surf
- Psychic
- Ice Beam

Super powerful mon in rain. It can sweep/wall break with relative ease once it setups. . Despite all of this I found myself using Manaphy the least. Hydro Vertex, super strong in rain, will do hell of a ton of damage to mons that are neutral against water. Hydration will take care of any annoying burn or poison, which is great. Ice beam can do a lot of damage to mons like tangrowth and zapdos, and psychic can take care of the pex.

Ferrothorn @ Figy Berry
Ability: Iron Barbs
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball

Ferrothorn is my rock setter and fairy resist. It can take a lot of hits, and I can always switch out if a fire type is active. It can put poison on multiple foes, and can do a lot of damage with power whip and gyro ball. Figy berry heals it up so it can survive longer. This is also my switch in to poison, burn, etc. as it won't effect that much. Other moves I could use is toxic spikes instead of toxic and iron head instead of gyro ball. This team needs a fire move so HP fire could also work.

Tornadus-Therian @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
- Hurricane
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Defog

This is my pivoter and defogger. It can take one or two moves from effective types and the regenerator ability is especially useful as it would switch out a lot. I use this mostly to switch to pelipper when the rain is off. I also use it to defog, as it doesn't get affected by spikes, and knock off for even more support. Hurricane with rain will hit hard.

God Himself (Minior) @ White Herb
Ability: Shields Down
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Shell Smash
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Acrobatics

Now here is the weird mon out of this team.I use Minior as a late game sweeper, when the opponents teams are weak.Honestly minior is obviously replaceable, however idk, its satisfying sweeping teams with NU. When Shield is down and I get white herb shell smash its speed is over 600, outspeeding lots of threats in OU. stab and 2x attack will literally obliterate anything. fun and games aside, I can always change this mon, as I am on the grind for leaderboards.

I wish I could add some replays, but I'm around 1300 elo and I don't think that contributes to anything lol. Lmk if you guys want to see one, I guess I can try to get one.

Threats:
Zapdos - Zapdos can probably stall my team out, as ice punch Swampert does not hit too hard. Zapdos could probably KO Manaphy, Pelipper, and Tornadus. Only counter could be tail glow ice beam Manaphy.
Bulky grass types such as Tangela and Mega Venasaur - Could one shot Swampart, manaphy, the two powerhouses of my team. Ice attacks don't hit too hard and I don't have any fire moves.

Thank you guys for taking time out of your day to read this, and I hope it wasn't too bad for my first post! Any help is appreciated, cheers.
