SM UU SM UU Trick Room

I have based this UU trick room team off of the very popular (or was) team in OU. Since a lot of the threats in that team are now in UU I have decided to convert it to this tier because I really enjoyed it.

(P.S I don't know if this has been done yet so please don't get mad if someone else made a team like this first)

Uxie @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Stealth Rock
- Memento
- Magic Coat

Roll: Suicide lead

Uxie is a very bulky setter with access to rocks and memento to immediately put me in a great position. The reason for colbur over mental herb is because banded crawdaunt destroys this team because nothing can set up trick room against it and getting trickroom up against it helps alot. People also predict mental herb and don't taunt or don't even have it.

Marowak-Alola @ Thick Club
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Substitute
- Flare Blitz
- Shadow Bone
- Earthquake

Roll: Stall Breaker

Marowak kills everything. Rock head allows it to beat stall without being worn down by recoil and sub is good for getting more damage on switch ins if they try to switch to a counter as trick room ends. Knock off is also good, but i wouldn't say the extra coverage would hit anything notable

Crawdaunt @ Life Orb
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Swords Dance
- Aqua Jet
- Crabhammer
- Knock Off

Roll : Set up sweeper/Cleaner

Crawdaunt puts out amazing damage and at +2 kills the entire meta-game. Dual stab hits everything in the teir extremely hard and jet cleans weakened pokemon. SD helps the team break pokemon like alomomola and even kills max hp primarina at full.

I know some of these are OU calcs but it still shows crawdaunts power
Defensive Skarm
+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Adaptability Crawdaunt Crabhammer vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 335-395 (100.2 - 118.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Standard Ferro
+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Adaptability Crawdaunt Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn: 382-452 (108.5 - 128.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Standard Alo
+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Adaptability Crawdaunt Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 40 HP / 216+ Def Alomomola: 489-577 (101.6 - 119.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Adaptability Crawdaunt Aqua Jet vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Heracross: 299-354 (99.3 - 117.6%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO
1517306428027.png

Stakataka @ Rockium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Lonely Nature
IVs: 15 Def / 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Gyro Ball
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

Roll : Secondary Setter/ Beast-Boost Sweeper

Stakataka is a great setter with amazing stats aswell as having beast boost. It doesn't take long before stakataka sweeps an entire team by itself. Its evd to get an attack raise while maximizing bulk and damage. It works kind of like autotomize celesteela. Set Up Speed --> z-move --> Sweep.

A few important calcs:
252+ Atk Stakataka Continental Crush (180 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Scizor: 325-384 (94.4 - 111.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

0 Atk Swampert Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0- Def Stakataka: 280-336 (85.8 - 103%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO

252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 0- Def Stakataka: 284-336 (87.1 - 103%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO

+1 252+ Atk Stakataka Continental Crush (180 BP) vs. 40 HP / 216+ Def Alomomola: 418-493 (86.9 - 102.4%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
1517306785245.png

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Psychic
- Moonlight
- Lunar Dance

Roll : Late Game Setter/Cleric

I knew I needed another setter because stakataka doesn't always have a good match up and the initial suicide room isn't enough to win a game. Cresselia has always been a staple on trickroom teams especially doubles, so I thought it should have the slot. The other thing Cresselia does for the team is Lunar dance. This allows me to play a bit recklessly with my mons early game but still keep them healthy for late game.

Primarina @ Choice Specs
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Moonblast
- Surf
- Hydro Pump
- Psychic

Roll : Wall Breaker

Primarina was the last Pokemon to be added to the team. Up to this point every offensive Pokemon had been a physical attacker, and the team had a huge weakness to scald. For a start I couldn't find anything to fit the roll, first I tried mega amphoros, then blastoise, but nothing came close to the power Specs Primarina provided along with its amazing typing.

The team has functioned well for me so far, and to show how the team works I've got some replays:

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7uususpecttest-696449991

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7uususpecttest-696449064

Weaknesses I've noticed:
Offensive ghost types like specs gengar and sub cm chandelure or even hoopa

CB Crawdaunt

Mega-Beedrill out of trickroom can hit everything super effectively

Slower pokemon like Gastrodon, mega Camerupt and amoongus

Substitute mons like suicune and togekiss

Thanks in advanced for rating my team, any suggestions are greatly aprreciated.

Hey, cool looking team!

There is nothing much to say here because there isn't really a way to go creative with Trick Room teams, as they almost always consist of Crawdaunt, Alolan Marowak, Stakataka, Uxie and Cresselia, but every team can be improved. For example:
  • Cresselia's moveset can be changed to Lunar Dance, Ice Beam, Hidden Power Fire and Trick Room, with Mental Herb. I get the point of Psychic and Moonlight but Trick Room teams usually really hate Swords Dance Scizor, as it can punch massive holes on the team, especially with double priority, and one of the Pokémon it abuses to set up on is Cresselia. Furthermore, they hate Dragon-types, such as Latias and Dragon Dance Mega Altaria, which often carries Earthquake. Ice Beam just lets Cresselia not be a complete setup fodder and may help put it the threats in range of the Trick Room attackers' moves. Mental Herb lets you bypass Taunt users that may try to prevent Cresselia from doing what it's good at :3.
  • You only have Stakataka, Uxie, and Cresselia as Trick Room setters, which may not be enough, from my own experience. I would consider Aromatisse > Primarina. Aromatisse is a pretty fun Trick Room setter and abuser that many players don't prepare for, which I recommend using. It is best-used with Fairium Z, so changing Stakataka item, to perhaps Stone, or Iron Plate.
  • Swords Dance > Substitute on Alolan Marowak makes it even more dangerous under Trick Room, and I get the point of Substitute but Swords Dance really is better in most cases. Furthermore, this is optional, but Bonemerang > Earthquake is usually what I prefer, for Sturdy-users and random Focus Sash Pokémon, but this change really is up to your preference. Oh yeah, Bonemerang also helps against Substitute Chandelure!
  • Lastly, Uxie doesn't really need Colbur Berry, as it can survive almost every hit, even Super Effective ones. Mental Herb > Colbur Berry is really cool because it grants you a way better matchup against Taunt users. I made its EVs so it guaranteed takes one U-turn from Choice Band Scizor, and put rest into Special Defense with a Careful nature so Choice Scarf Hydreigon's Dark Pulse usually 3HKOs and Choice Specs Hydreigon's Dark Pulse doesn't OHKO.
