Smogon & Showdown for IPhone

There is nobody currently available to code it. It's been asked a ton of times, and the answer has always been the same - there is nobody able and willing to code it.
 
the vbulletin forums worked perfectly fine on phone but xenforo actually has this really awful mobile site which doesnt display such things as last poster in a thread or quick jumps to subforums/newest thread in the forum which makes browsing smogon from a phone take twice as long as it used to. as someone who always browses smogon from a phone in school this is irksome

edit: note im not asking for an app just a less gay mobile site
 
I am actually agreeing with Pwnemom, if we can have an option like most sites do to simply be able to switch from the mobile version to the full version that would be great.
 
PS has made lots of improvements on the front of being more mobile-friendly imo. I got Showdown to work on a second-generation iPod Touch (though I very rarely use it, as I have both a tablet and a computer to use). This should be a testament to its user-friendly-ness. It is however optimal (as a temporary solution until the mobile version is no doubt improved, as the xf team is working on it) that there be some sort of toggle switch between the mobile and desktop versions instead of the code just automatically detecting your hardware and picking the version for you. It should do that on default, but there currently isn't an option to opt out of said. I don't see why there can't be a toggle to mobile in the desktop version either, despite how useless it might be.

Uhh... No it can't. Tried on a 4th generation iPod touch, your phone might be different. But doesn't work on mine.
@chaos can we switch back to vBulliten, the new forums are less than great (although I might be biased toward the vB layout)
 
If you know any of the reasons we moved to xenForo you would realize why going back to what we had before is impossible.
 
I've seen this brought up a few times so I feel the need to explain why the switch thing isn't going to work for this.

The "mobile theme" was made with CSS media queries. These queries detect screen width to control what to display and what not to. To demonstrate, try viewing the index page while adjusting the width of your browser window. It'll change when you get to smaller sizes. The unfortunate part is that there isn't really a way to turn them on and off without a quite a bit of work. Until the Smogon theme is ready, this will almost certainly be all-or-nothing.

I'm with you though, I'd much rather have the normal site than a mobile version on my phone.

since you brought it up, might as well explain the switch to xenforo haha. There are quite a few reasons why we switched to this software, even though it's newer / younger than vB. vB 3, the one which we were using is good but has security and other flaws, ie the reason how we got hacked in the first place. vB 3 is also no longer actively developed and there are no longer security patches and other improvements made to it. Newer versions of vB are apparently poorer or something, I don't remember >_> xenforo is new and all, but it's actively developed and has less flaws. Even if we stuck with vB 3 if it doesn't have a security etc flaw, we'll end up with an outdated forum software. So yea, xenforo will just keep getting better and better (as long as it doesn't follow the path of vB lol) and we'll end up being better off with xenforo in the long run. Hope that explains it! :)

Also yes an option to toggle between mobile / desktop would most probably be worked on in future after the stuff with higher priority are completed.
