GSC UU KING HSA vs Sjneider - I’m not sold on how good HSA really is at OU and sjneider has been doing great in individual tours as of late, coming off a finals berth in NU Open, so I know he’ll play well in this series and has to be my pick here.

Empo vs Ojama - Empo is obviously pretty great and one of the better sm players on the site, but Ojama has been consistently very good over the course of this year and especially as of late barring one off game Vs ciele in snake, so I think it’s very hard to predict against the kingpin here. Sure to be an entertaining series with little to no stall bullshit either way.

Simia vs Hiye - Simia’s been alright this OLT, but I feel like Hiye has found his groove again in SM OU following his complete dismantling of suapah in snake and it’s hard to pick against someone so consistent against someone who frankly still has to prove himself here.

zugubu royale vs The Hallows - Hallows hasn’t lost once this tournament after subbing in for 0-2 KOD and has proven he can play with the big dogs and has excellent building support behind him, so it’s very hard to see him losing to a primarily unpredictable zugubu royale.

Ash KetchumGamer vs SoulWind - I don’t even think I should have to explain this predict, but Soulwinds just the much better player and has a much more varied team repitoire so he shouldn’t lose this.

Zuchtrest vs Paycard - Both these guys have been pretty solid so far this tour, but Paycard has been a good bit more solid in my eyes and has bounced back from a rocky start losing to Ojama, so it’s hard to see him losing this time around.

GSC UU KING HSA vs Sjneider - Very close series here that could really go either way, both ik are very competent players but I feel Sjneider is more consistent overall. I am also aware of who sj is getting teambuilding help from and am very confident with them.

Empo vs Ojama - Winner of this mu is my favorite to win the entire tour. Both highly respected players that have made poffs of official tours countless times. Giving Empo the edge after coming off smog champ win, also ik him better and am rooting for him, cien pOOr cien.

Simia vs Hiye - Picking Hiye in this MU as I've been more impressed with his play. Losing an incredibly played g1 in his set vs. Kick to an unfortunate last turn crit hurt him hard, but he has managed to climb his way back into clinching position. Simia on the other hand got bailed vs Empo but nonetheless is an amazing talent, who my guess, is also being supplied with top notch french squads.

zugubu royale vs The Hallows - Largely favoring Hallows here as after filling in at 0-2 has came out strong to even up his record at 2-2. Zugubu seems inconsistent, although he can definitely pull an upset like he did last week vs kory. Hallows has also been getting teams from very strong builders, so I believe he has the advantage in that dept aswell. kitchen gang

Ash KetchumGamer vs SoulWind - Going to go with SoulWind here since he is of course the more established player; coming off of stour runner up and having a lot of experience in tour poffs from the past. Ash is no slouch however and can be surprising in his team choice which can lead to an interesting set.

Zuchtrest vs Paycard - After a shaky start from Paycard, he has appeared to have bounced back a bit whereas zuchtrest has went from 2-0 to 2-2. Still, a close series nonetheless, and like many series in these 2-2 pairings, can go either way.

LGI daddy Sjneider

GSC UU KING HSA vs Sjneider - I dont know much about HSA's OU skill and the only win he picked up was vs punny while punny was using this while sjneider been in the kitchen with patlop cooking the heat and delivering fire plays.

Empo vs Ojama - This is a tossup series for me and it surprises me that one of these players is not making top 16 in this player pool. Will be a great series for sure

Simia vs Hiye - Hiye had a rough OLT but seems to be back on his A game after molesting tace last round and suapah for snake. Simia has been doing pretty well in this tour though so it could go either way

zugubu royale vs The Hallows - The king of the lads has been bringing great teams and solid play ever since he took over the 0-2 record from QuitofDeath and is way more consistent than zugubu imo

Ash KetchumGamer vs SoulWind - DenisTheMenace would still predict soulwind to lose

Zuchtrest vs Paycard - How the true best player has been losing games is beyond me, if he whips up that AV Lele+Banded Ferrothorn core or something wild like that this is gonna be a beating

GSC UU KING HSA vs Sjneider - I think HSA unironically has one of the highest skill ceilings of any player, but he's also incredibly lazy. However, with his small group of friends also happening to be some of the best OU teambuilders around, he will definitely have all the tools necessary to get the job done. Sjneider's teams have been interesting and I know he has strong supporters, but his gameplay leaves a lot to be desired and the raw skill gap will be insurmountable for him. It'll be interesting to see what HSA can bring to the table in playoffs. If he starts taking this seriously and improves his metagame knowledge, he could pilot himself to the top 4 or beyond.

Empo vs Ojama - The two best players yet to qualify, by FAR. No one else comes close to these guys and it's really unfortunate that they were paired up in the final qualification round. Both competitors are capable of bringing a wide variety of teams, have tons of support behind them, and are exceptionally skilled at OU gameplay. However, while I feel it's an even matchup, I have to give the slight edge to Ojama, who has looked unstoppable in Snake bar one weird game against Ciele, and also deserved to qualify last round but suffered the bad end of some serious luck. It's a tragedy that either way, one of these guys won't be making an appearance in the top 16.

Simia vs Hiye - Hiye brings better teams, makes bigger plays, and rarely chokes. Not a very exciting matchup, will be quite shocked if Hiye doesn't clean this up easily.

zugubu royale vs The Hallows - I know this guy has been a real piece of shit in the past, but he uses some extremely creative sets and techs, and I like his style. His opponent strikes me as much more of your run-of-the-mill Good Player who will open the same way everyone else does and go entirely limp while zugubu decides if he wants to win or if he'd rather play safe. Should be a fun watch, hope we see some stunts.

Ash KetchumGamer vs SoulWind - Can't lose in finals if you don't qualify for top 16 :wesmart:

Zuchtrest vs Paycard - Another matchup that's really tough to call one way or the other, these guys have a similar style where they trend towards standard builds that are attempting to get one step ahead of the metagame through either straight matchup or specific techs vs the other meta builds. For that reason I think it should be a close series and I wouldn't be surprised if one of the games is a near-mirror. That said, Paycard seems to have a slighter higher talent level, long as he doesn't let the nerves of a knockout round get to him. Plus he seems like a nice guy so I hope he pulls through.

empo vs ojama is the best and most interesting match up this tour will have. rooting for my guy!!!! also predicting winner of this to take it all. the other good match up is simia vs hiye, both got interesting styles so this will be nice to watch.

defeated empo in 3 very close and intense games, ggs. we probably made some mistakes here and there but given the smogtours chat is full of multiple times official tournament winners you are all probably aware how hard it can be to make the right play every turn. looking forward to seeing you all play in playoffs.

lost, ggs to ojama, great games for sure, i think i fucked up in g2 though, crazy endgame it was
shame i had to go out early, who knows what would've happened if i had some luck going my way, or at least being neutral in the previous rounds. shoutouts to mael, dann3 and yoppie for being supportive and as helpful as possible. s/o tss, xray too for helping me with messages that encouraged me, also bro kappa for the aero squad i used last round, and gliders. bye and gl all in top16.
