Snaelstrom @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 64 Def / 200 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 26 Spe
- U-turn
- Scald
- Spiky Shield
- Stealth Rock / Toxic

Snaelstrom finds itself lost in a metagame without Zygarde, which it was designed to counter. However, it can fit onto some bulky teams with its unique traits. With U-turn and a specially bulky EV spread, Snaelstrom can pivot around Choice Specs Greninja, allowing it to prevent transformation. The Speed IVs and nature allow Snealstrom to underspeed Celesteela, safely bringing in a teammate like Mega Mawile. With Scald and Spiky Shield, Snaelstrom checks common physical attackers like Landorus-T, Weavile, Syclant, and Kitsunoh. Stealth Rock allows Snaelstrom to support its team, while Toxic allows it to beat Arghonaut and cripple Tornadus-T. However, Snaelstrom faces huge obstacles in the metagame. With Tornadus-T as the best Defog user, Snaelstrom finds it hard to keep Stealth Rock up. Also, Stealth Rock chips down it quickly, hurting its ability to avoid 3HKOs. Furthermore, Spiky Shield can be easy to punish, which forces Snaelstrom into tricky 50/50 situations.

With the ban of Zygarde, Snaelstrom finds itself lost in the current metagame, which it was designed to counter. However, Snaelstrom brings some interesting traits that allow it to fit onto bulky teams. With U-turn and a specially defensive spread, Snaelstrom can switch into and pivot out of pre-transformation Choice Specs Greninja, allowing it to punish even Dark Pulse. This set's Speed specify Speed IVs. underspeeds Celesteela, meaning Snaelstrom can safely bring in a teammate without risking a Leech Seed. Racking up chip damage and extra recovery with Spiky Shield and spreading burns with Scald, Snaelstrom checks Pokemon like Landorus-T, Weavile, Syclant, and Kitsunoh. Stealth Rock allows Snaelstrom to rack up chip damage, while Toxic allows Snaelstrom to win the 1v1 with Arghonaut Cripples incoming Tornadus-T etc. too.. However, Snaelstrom faces huge problems in the metagame. With Tornadus-T as the best Defog user, Stealth Rock is hard to keep up Snaelstrom finds it hard to keep them up, they're not hard to keep up in the metagame in general. , and with a weakness to Stealth Rock and no reliable recovery move, Snaelstrom can be chipped down easily. Additionally, Spiky Shield can be easy to punish, which forces Snaelstrom into tricky situations.

Changed "to take actual attacks" to "to avoid 3HKOs" because that's less vague. This should be done now!
