Why 'ello thar fellow readers, welcome to my first warstory: "Snow Brigade" vs "Mood Swingers" - hail teams (and a bit more) battle, on steroids. Phiphler and kittencute (myself) battle it out in the ultimate shadow duel, or maybe I've been watching too much Yu-Gi-Oh!.


Meet Phiphler's Snow Brigade, packed with 6 brave soldiers of war; well, perhaps not Forretress, he's just a terrorist.
In order of appearance, here are Harbinger, Lead Zeplin, Reveler, Pink Elephant and Glacia.

Standing before them, proud and constipated, are kittencute's Mood Swingers - a weather changing team I've been tinkering with, very fun to play: Obamasnow, Batman, Metagross, Starmie, Stallrein and T-Pain. uhh, Metagross and Starmie are new in this, didn't think of a nickname for them yet, shoot meh. ;x

Rules: No Ubers, Evasion Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Sleep Clause, Species Clause, Timed Battle.​

Darn, that's bad. I really hope he's not carrying Focus Punch -_-; Let's see what he has in store for me.

Maybe I'll Blizzard him again. If he didn't Focus Punch, the other moves is Energy Ball or Grass Knot, and I carry more Sp.Def than the Sub Seed set.

I might be laughing in the chat, but I'm crying inside. The puff is still on the loose :[ At least I got his Walrein, and those usually aren't easy to take down.

Gettin' mah hail back. Unfortunately, Mamoswine has Snow Cloak. Surf Walrein could probably take on it.

Well, it's probably Choice Banded, coz my Walrein is sturdy enough to take super effective physical hits. Gliscor will take hits like a real man. bat.

My Batman is faster than a +Speed nature / 252 Speed EVs Tyranitar, so I can safely Aerial Ace Abomasnow to death.

I always loved Glaceon, but never found a place for it in a hail team.. let's see what he does to Starmie.

I still need my Tyranitar, and Flamethrower probably won't 1HKO. Let's weaken him with Batman first.

o_O.. Sadly for me he went for Ice Fang, when I was almost positive he'll try Earthquake. Sand Veil may let me sneak in a hit, hopefully I'm faster.

Doesn't have quick claw. He switched glaceon in after his abomasnow died. You switched in starmie and it used blizzard on the switch. Given the damage and speed it was probably specs.

Quick battle too and fun to read despite some prediction blunders such as switching walrein into CB stone edge. Even without the crit it would have done around 70% and walrein wouldn't survive another one.

Advice for next time if you write a warstory though, don't use the nicknames as it can get confusing having to go back to check what pokemon is actually out. And get rid of the leftovers recovery as that gets pretty redundant and messy. Just mention which pokemon carry lefties at the start.

Good job overall though.

Heh, I once ran a dual-weather team, I had Abomasnow / Glaceon / Tyranitar / Rhyperior / Gliscor / and Cresselia.

Nice warstory, but Glaceon has 110 Base Defense, and since yours wasn't Choice Banded it probably would have survived even if Stone Edge connected. Flamethrower would have had a better shot at KO'ing because of Glaceon's low SpDef.

You forget to factor in that Tyranitar's STAB 100 BP Stone Edge comes from a much much higher Attack stat than the unSTAB 95 BP Flamethrower. Def/SpDef isn't the only factor here.

Wouldn't Flamethrower do more damage? Glaceon's got low Special Def, even though TTar's a Physical monster and gets STAB from Stone Edge.

Glaceon's special defense isn't low at base 95. Anyway Mekkah explained why stone edge does more. Just do some damage calcs to check.

I'm enjoying the double-weather changer teams I've seen lately. This fight was kinda dumb at points though. You should never have re-instated the hail after his abomasnow went down, just ride on Sandstorm, for one.
