So I have two very good competitive pokemon...

With all their EVs and such set, and I'm wondering what I should do with them... I've looked through their respective threads, but I've found nothing too specific to help. If you could all take a look and give me some advice, that'd be wonderful:

Swampert @ Nothing. Level 100. Male. *SHINY*
Adamant Nature
EVs: 252 Hp/ 96 Atk/ 160 Def
IVs: 16 Hp/ 21 Atk/ 28 Def/ 31 SAtk/ 26 SDef/ 31 Spd
Moveset: Earthquake, Hydro Pump, Endeavor, Blizzard (in need of some major adjustments)

Unfortunately, his EVs can't ever be adjusted, which is why I need a solid moveset well-suited to his stats and spread. But he's shiny! -.- Perhaps a starter Stealth Rocker with physical moves?

Cresselia @ Nothing. Level 51. Female.
Bold Nature
EVs: 204 Hp/ 220 Def/ 40 SAtk/ 44 SDef
IVs: 31 Hp/ 5 Atk/ 31 Def/ 21 SAtk/ 23 SDef/ 9 Spd
Moveset: Charge Beam, Ice Beam, Rest, Grass Knot

This Cress is wonderful, and the EVs can still be adjusted, fortunately. However, I think it would make a great ReStalker with that EV spread, but then again, a Paralysis set with Moonlight may also be appealing... What do you guys think it may be best suited for?

So yes, any help here would be great, as I've had little experience in dealing with these pokemon and recently recieved them from trades.

For swampert you could go Earthquake, Waterfall and other physical attacks or you could use stealth rock

cresselia can learn moonlight which is probably better than rest, by the way check the dp analyses forum: these 2 pokemon are already done

I've looked at the analyses already, and though I've pretty much decided on the ReStalker set on Cress, there's really nothing for Adamant 'pert with the EVs I have.

Thank you for your help.

That's right (it's late...). Well, Stealth rock is always an option (especially with the grass reducing berry as a hold item). And a stab Earthquake never hurts.

Maybe substitute to go with all of those defenses? Then you could make the last moveslot Focus Punch?

So the moveset would be something like:

Swampert @ Leftovers
Earthquake
Stealth Rock
Substitute
Focus Punch

Substitute allows you to set up Stealth Rock and throw a Focus Punch.

Maybe you should've asked for the L74 untrained shiny Mudkip instead of the L100 Swampert. ;) Note that those are fairly ideal EVs for a defensive Swampert.

I also kept Hydro Pump on him because its extra power allows it to be a Mixpert in spite of the SpAttk drop. Whether or not this will still be useful remains to be seen.

Here's some other options you might consider:

Attack-wise:
Avalanche
Waterfall
Stone Edge
Hammer Arm

The first three are pretty highly recommended.

Support-wise
Stealth Rock
Protect (for scouting Choice item users and switch to an appropriate counter)
Roar <-- my personal recommendation, as Swampert was one of my favorite pseudohazers in Advance
Toxic

All four are fairly tried-and-true options.

I would suggest either a Resttalker for Swampert, with Eathquake and Avalanche as the attacks.

Swampert @ Leftovers

~ Avalanche
~ Earthquake
~ Rest
~ Sleep Talk

This would really help with it's unavoidable bulkyness.

Definately, hahaha. ; )

As for movesets, I'm kind of debating between these two, as they both look very good... The top one allows for Stealth Rock support, and a SubPuncher is always nice -- especially with all that Hp. However, I love the ReStalking set's ability to work especially well with his EV spread, and makes it work great with a ReStalking Cresselia on the next team I'm planning on making.

I recognise that Cresselia hehe

I basically gave it that attacking moveset as I wanted it to be a specialist counter. I normally would have gone with Restalk, as I feel Moonlight is silly with that much T-tar, and the fact he is on my own team lol.

Rest is obvious. Grass Knot I needed to be able to effectively counter Rhyperior (and also Tyranitar), otherwise if I try and use Ice Beam I generally die to it beforehand, especially if it has Megahorn. Ice Beam was a definitely for CBmence and garchomp. I then decided I also needed a Gyarados counter, hence Charge Beam, which can 2hko if I get a Special boost.

That makes perfect sense, but I plan on countering threats with other pokemon. So really, it's a question of Charge Beam versus Grass Knot, depending on what my other pogeymans can do, as I really like the idea of a ReStalker Cress.

On that Cresselia have MAX HP and some Def and Satk or Def and SDef. A Movest would be

Special Sweeper

- Calm Mind
- Moonlight/ Ice Beam
- Grass Knot
- Charge Beam

Tank

- Moonlight
- Relfect/Light Screen - Depends On Team
- Charge Beam/Grass Knot/Thunder Wave
- Ice Beam

252 HP / 148 Def / 110 SAtk
252 HP / 146 Def / 112 SDef

Either Spread Would Be Good For Any Moveset.

Good Nature.

For Swampert it's good but would be better if it was Impish. A good moveset would be

- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
- Hydro Pump

A Good Lead Max HP some Def and some SAtk.

- Roar
- Ice Punch/Avalance
- Stealth Rock
- Waterfall

Physical Version. MAX HP some DEF and ATK Adamant or Impish for this one.

Wow, thanks for your help Blazevoir! I think I'll go with this for Cress:

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Bold ll 252 HP/ 148 Def/ 110 SAtk
Calm Mind
Moonlight (despite all the Sandstormers)
Ice Beam
Charge Beam

That way she can function as a very defensive pseudo Boltbeamer while still remaining a solid wall with Calm Mind and Moonlight.

As for Pert, well, I like your last set a lot...

Swampert @ Leftovers
Adamant ll 252 Hp/ 96 Atk/ 160 Def
Stealth Rock
Roar
Waterfall
Avalanche

He'll be a very solid lead like you said, and I like the idea of having a Phazer to break BP chains early on.

Swampert needs EQ somehwere. it allows him to counter Metagross and co. Yah, Swampert's main advantage over most Bulky waters is the groudn typing, so definitely abuse it.

eh, how much do you fear Rhyperior? I can't think of much else that Waterfall is better than EQ on that Avalanche doesn't cover? Skamory and Bronzong are the only two, but they can't do anything to Swampert (well Grass Rope...).

Bah, Rhyperior can be raped by some other poke on my team, and I'll probably include an Energy Balling Celebi somewhere provided the double Psychic typing doesn't hurt me too badly.

And yeah, Avalanche pretty much covers what I'd need Waterfall to cover, and the loss of STAB is completely recitified by Avalanche's power under the right conditions.

Yeah, but the Adamant nature hurts his special attack, and I'd rather work with his inherent advantages rather than against them.
