...to get a coloscopy.

I've been pretty ill the last couple of weeks (actually more like since January but it's gotten worse since then), mainly with diarrhoea and lately some severe anaemia (HB ~4.5 g/dl). This means I've gone to see my GP, who almost instantly referred me to the hospital. On Wednesday, I spoke with a specialist doctor, and he thinks I have some sort of autoimmune disease (Crohn's, ulcerative colitis), but he is going to need the endoscopy next week Thursday to make sure. The day before I'll have to ingest a fuckload of laxative to keep my gut clean...

Anyone here had an endoscopy and want to share experiences?

No, but a cervical smear and scan and whilst they're medically worlds apart I'd imagine the feeling of invasion is much the same - see if your doctor will give you a sedative such as diazepam/midazolam beforehand, doesn't have to knock you out, just to relax you, space you out and induce a degree of amnesia.

I know how you feel, I had a similar thing a while back, and while it does not 'hurt' its certainly not pleasant, but at least knowing whats wrong outweighs that, at least thats how I felt. I was diagnosed with IBS after months of bad things going on down there. Hope everything works out ok, chin up.

Yeah, the doctor said they would do that.
