So I'm a Bitch (OHKOs in 2v2)

so yea, I'm a big fan of dubs in pokemon. it adds an interesting dynamic (more offense) into the game. And I'm alot better at 2v2 than I am at 1v1 for one reason or another. anyhooo I was looking at some of the D/P pokemon. and I thought of a NASTY combo that involves our friend machamp and some highly innacurate OHKO.

Machamp (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: No Armor
EVs: whatever (not important for disscussion)
Dynamic Punch
Stone Edge
Protect
Filler of Sorts

See this is the trait I'm talking about... now we just need a fast OHKOer to sew some havoc.

so a few things come to mind. Fissure Dugtrio, Horn Drill Rapidash, Sheer Cold Glalie.

Glalie (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: Whatever just make it fast
+Speed nature
Sheer Cold
Explosion
blah
blah

So as it turns out. Glalie is my personal choice. BTW I wanted to use FrossLass for this but some dumb bitch decided it couldn't learn Sheer Cold. ANYWAY since Frosslass is tragically without sheer cold that leaves Glalie as the fastest user of sheer cold.
Sheer cold is better than Fissure or Horndrill because nothing resists it. that means nothing is safe from instant death.
Whats that you say? glalie is outsped by alot of things with only base 80 speed? well nintendo has your back. Just hit up battle tower and buy a choice scarf and suddenly you have more speed than you knew what to do with. oops. I would still run alot of extra speed EVs and nature just to outspeed other users of the scarf. so it limits you to one move? oh well you are useing a perfect accuracy OHKO that nothing resists, why would you use anything else?

Rapidash and Dugtrio are both viable options. but sheer cold covers more types.

oh and for counters. I guess rampardos leads or swich ins throw a wrench in this stratagy as well as killing machamp or glalie before scarf glalie can fire. this can be done with a beast such as choice scarf salamence or other faster pokemon than glalie, but in alot of those cases it would be better to have a choice band or choice specs.

all in all I think this is a pretty decent 2v2 combo though if you were to pull this in netbattle I guarentee you'd get called a (BAN ME PLEASE). ;)

PS. I'm thinking about going to the porcupine tree concert in grand rapids on the 31st.

PPS. please don't totally sidetrack this topic with porcupine tree. kthnxbai

There's just one problem. The attacks are only 100% accurate when they're against, or done by Machamp.

Did you really think Game Freak could let this combo run free in 2v2 matchs?

I don't think so.

Though I haven't tested it, the trait does say

all attacks while machamp is in battle have 100% accuracy

all attacks would seem to include your team mate's as well. or I could just be missreading.

EDIT: I would also appreciate it if somebody with a gameshark could test this for me. I will, but it will take me a while to get a good glalie and machamp up to level. thanks

Others have tested it, and the attacks are only 100% accurate when done by Machamp or against Machamp.

Throw in a Skill Swapping Bronzong and a CS Articuno. If Bronzong can Skill Swap twice, you have yourself a guarenteed OHKO each round.

Too bad Arti has a horrid Rock Slide weak.

Anyway:

Turn 1:

Machamp used Dynamicpunch or EQ (use whichever is better for that instance).

Bronzong used Skill Swap!

*Switch Machamp for Articuno*

Bronzong used Skill Swap!

Bronzong should now have Pressure and Articuno should have No Guard.

Why is it I get the feeling that No Guard Can't Be Skill Swapped similar to the way Wonder Guard can't be skill swapped?... someone should test it though.

it can get role played i've had one of my no armor machokes get roleplayed by wild kadabra and it works so it must be skillswappable has well

god, nintendo are bad people.

that seems like it should have worked. well there goes another witty idea. flushed down the toilet just like my burn orb sychronize kadabra might burn the opponent didn't work... blasssssssst

at least if I really want I can use psycho shift cresilla @ burn orb for some 100% acc burning fun

Even if it can be Skill Swapped, but I think many people overestimate the viability of this combo. There are countless ways to put a stop to it and because it takes so many rounds to set up, it's impossible to surprise your opponent with it.

Here are just some of the options your opponent has to put the kibosh on this combo:

They can KO your Skill Swap user.
They can Roar or Whirlwind your Skill Swap user.
They can Taunt your Skill Swap user.
They can OHKO-move whichever Pokémon currently has No Guard.
They can use Follow Me, making your Skill Swap target them.
They can disable your Skill Swap user with sleep (and bear in mind that while your Skill Swapper has No Guard, every sleep move will be 100% accurate).
They can disable your Skill Swap user with , aptly enough, Disable (again, 100% accurate).
They can Fake Out your Skill Swapper and get rid of your Machamp.

Any good Double Battle team will have at least a few of these options available to it. This is not to say that this combo is impossible to pull off. You'll probably only want to try it when you have good Fake Out support and/or when your opponents are significantly disabled (confused, attracted, asleep, frozen, etc.).

If any of you decide to use this combo, the thing you need to remember is not to base your entire team around it. Make sure your Pokémon (including the Machamp, Skill Swapper, and OHKO user) can function even if this gambit fails.
