ORAS LC Some sort of team ( peaked 1st )( in LC suspect, okay )

NabboCheTesta

Gniubbo come sempre
Hi to you all, I am TheAzumaKiller.

After quitting pokemon for some years, I went back, and restarted again. My interest went to ORAS LC, a balanced tier, where you can try different things. I created this team in 3 months, and I came out with this:

Pawniard @ Eviolite
Ability: Defiant
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 236 Atk / 76 SpD / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance

Croagunk @ Eviolite
Ability: Poison Touch
Level: 5
EVs: 36 HP / 188 Atk / 116 Def / 116 SpD / 36 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Gunk Shot
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off

Munchlax @ Berry Juice
Ability: Thick Fat
Level: 5
EVs: 76 Atk / 196 Def / 236 SpD
Careful Nature
- Body Slam
- Recycle
- Curse
- Whirlwind

Shellder @ Lum Berry
Ability: Skill Link
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 76 SpD / 196 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Ice Shard
- Shell Smash

Snivy @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Contrary
Level: 5
IVs: 30 SpA / 30 SpD
EVs: 240 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Hidden Power [Ground]

Tirtouga @ Berry Juice
Ability: Solid Rock
Level: 5
EVs: 132 Atk / 140 Def / 236 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Aqua Jet
- Knock Off
- Waterfall

Okay, this team is an offensive one, aiming to beat opponents with higly powered attacks. The name of the team came from the fact my brother said Pawniard ( BW sprite ) moved like he was dancing " Stayin' Alive". And, because of this becoming a dancing team, this is the name.

Here with the team.

THE OFFENSIVE SUPPORT

Pawniard @ Eviolite
Ability: Defiant
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 236 Atk / 76 SpD / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance

Pqwniard is a cool Mon. It has the typing, a cool ability, the stats, and the moves. Knock Off softens up the opponent's walls and allows me to get informations about the sets of the enemy, and packs a punch. Iron Head hits fairly hard, and it is super-effective on Fairies, while hitting Fighting types and itemless pokemon for good damage. Sucker Punch is good for revenge-killing and stuff. Swords Dance is useful to take on weakened teams.

THE FIGHTING COUNTER

Croagunk @ Eviolite
Ability: Poison Touch
Level: 5
EVs: 36 HP / 188 Atk / 116 Def / 116 SpD / 36 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Gunk Shot
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off

While at first its bulk is sort of weak, with adequate investment and its typing, it can switch into stuff. Drain Punch is powerful and recovers its HP. Gunk shot has surprisingly good Coverage, and massive 120 Power. Sucker Punch surprises Abra, Gothita and is a priority, which always helps. Knock off hits ghosts on the switch-in. EVs are for Eviolite numbers and decent bulk.

THE BULKY SWEEPER

Munchlax @ Berry Juice
Ability: Thick Fat
Level: 5
EVs: 76 Atk / 196 Def / 236 SpD
Careful Nature
- Body Slam
- Recycle
- Curse
- Whirlwind

Munchlax is veery fat. And why? Because it eats teams. Curse boosts Attack to great levels, and patches Defense, while the Speed drop is nothing serious. Body Slamhits hard even before a boost, and it has Paralysis chance. Recycle + Berry Juice keeps it alive and healthy, and Berry Juice gives it a great opportunity to set up. Whirlwind vreaks Baton Pass and avoids that stuff boosts alongside it. EVs complement its special bulk which is good even in standard play, and give it a good physical bulk, while giving it a little "oomph" in Attack.

THE PHYSICAL CLEANER

Shellder @ Lum Berry
Ability: Skill Link
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 76 SpD / 196 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Ice Shard
- Shell Smash

Shell Smash boosts the Attackthrought the roof, and turns Shellder into a Speed demon. Icicle Spear hits hard and breaks sashes. Rock Blast provides cool Coverage. Ice Shard is a powerful Priority to kill Fletchling. The Lum Berry makes it set up without fearing Will-O-Wisps.

THE SPECIAL CLEANER

Snivy @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Contrary
Level: 5
IVs: 30 SpA / 30 SpD
EVs: 240 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Hidden Power [Ground ]

Scarf Snivy is a cool Revenge Killer: Leaf Storm provides a boost and hits for great power. Hidden Piwer hits Pawniard and Magnemite super-effectively. Giga Drain revenges without having to deal with Accuracy. Knock Off is spam-able earlygame.

THE ROCK SETTER

Tirtouga @ Berry Juice
Ability: Solid Rock
Level: 5
EVs: 132 Atk / 140 Def / 236 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Aqua Jet
- Knock Off
- Waterfall

Many people think that thus is SturdyJuice, but this set sets rocks. Stealth Rock is important and speaks for itself, Knock Off hits hard and has utility, Waterfall is a STAB and Aqua Jet gives Priority.

Okay, let's rate!

The proof ( sorry for double post )

Naughty Nature

Growlithe @ Eviolite
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 5
EVs: 156 HP / 156 Def / 40 SpA / 120 SpD / 36 Spe
Bold Nature

Hello TheAzumaKiller, nice team here. I have a couple things I would like to fix to help make the team better.

-The evs on Pawniard are not optimal. Running 18 atk on Pawniard may sound appealing, but it doesn't net any important kills that 17 atk doesn't. Running a spread of 156 Atk/36 Def/116 SpD/196 Spe with a Jolly Nature lets it hit eviolite numbers in both defense and special defense, greatly increasing its bulk and letting it switch into more Pokemon.

-Tirtouga should be using a bulkier set. Berry Juice is quite odd on Solid Rock Tirt, and while the recovery is nice, the added bulk of eviolite lets it live almost everything. I would also recommend using a Stone Edge to better check fletch (which threatens Gunk, Snivy, and Ice Shard-less Shellder), and scald to spread burns on physical attackers.
Tirtouga @ Eviolite
Level: 5
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 84 HP / 252 Def / 12 SpA / 156 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Scald
- Stone Edge
- Aqua Jet/Knock Off
-Use Dry Skin over Poison Touch on Croagunk. Dry Skin lets Gunk become a great check to Water type Pokemon, while Poison Touch offers very little. (Gunk Shot has the 30% chance to Poison any way) I would also recommend using the mixed utility set on Gunk, as Pawniard is a huge threat to this team and can beat gunk if they scout that out that you don't have Vacuum Wave. e: didn't even see that you started using growlithe, but i would recommend keeping gunk as growlithe just adds to the Pawniard weakness, while gunk checks pawn and fighters while keeping offensive pressure.
Croagunk @ Eviolite
Level: 5
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 132 HP / 28 Atk / 116 Def / 108 SpA / 116 SpD
Quiet Nature
- Drain Punch
- Sludge Bomb
- Vacuum Wave
- Knock Off
-Curse Recycle is not the greatest Lax set, and it also seems unnecessary because your team has multiple other wincons. Munchlax also has only one attack, which can hurt it if it needs to beat Gastly. Instead of this setup set, you may want to use a more defensive spread that beats special attackers like abra and gastly, which you are otherwise hard pressed to switch into. Rest Talk also lets you switch into Foongus, which beats the rest of your team bar gunk.
Munchlax @ Eviolite
Ability: Thick Fat
Level: 5
EVs: 76 HP / 196 Def / 236 SpD
Impish Nature
- Body Slam
- Pursuit
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
-Choice Scarf Snivy is not the best set, as all of its moves except leaf storm are weak and provide little. Being locked into Leaf Storm is not desirable, because many mons resist grass and can take advantage of Snivy. The best set for Snivy to run as a boosting sweeper is not scarf, but a substitute set. The following set lets Snivy substitute to ease prediction, glare to paralyze its counters, and use hp fire to break ferroseed.
Snivy @ Berry Juice
Ability: Contrary
Level: 5
EVs: 240 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Leaf Storm
- Glare
- Hidden Power [Fire]
-HP Fight is not very good on Shellder, as Pawniard can still manage to kill Shellder after the defense drop and prior damage. In addition, not running Ice Shard lets Fletchling revenge kill Shellder. In my opinion you should use an eviolite on Shellder with a spread of 36 hp/236 atk/36 def/196 spe with an adamant nature with Ice Shard over hp fight. Leaving Pawniard to the Croagunk is probably going to prove better than running an odd hidden power.

That's all I have for this team. Good luck with it and your future battles in LC!

Thanks for the rate, Omastar. See, I am quite n00b, and this team is fruit of 3 months of laddering. I will add the stuff you said me to add and see if it goes better. Anyways, I found the Munchlax set is very cool, as curse compliments its huge special bulk quite well, and I swept a with it even when burnt. However, I decided to run Fire Punch ( sorry, I am stubborn ) in order to deal with the Ghosts and to hit Pawn, and I will test it. Scarf snivy frankly sux, so I will follow your suggestion. Tirtouga functions much better with evio, yeah ( wow, duh b00lk is insane ). I could swap gunk out for Grimer, as it takes on Fighters and on Pawn while offering offensive presence, or I could consider Vullaby, which takes on Fighters decently, and switches no problem on Foongus, which, as I could constatate from myself, is a big threat.

So,

Vullaby > Gunk? ( otherwise Vacuum over Punch, Sludge wave over Gunk shot and Dry skin )

Ice Shard > HP Fight on shell

SubJuice > Scarf on Snivy

EVs tweaks on guys

Fire Punch > Whirlwind on Lax ( or Defensive lax instead. )

I would support Fire Punch over Whirlwind on Munchlax as this allows you to hit Ghost-types effectively; however, defensive lax seems better tailored to your team as it walls every Ghost and hurts Abra. This also grants a second check to Fletchling which your team desperately wants. However, you can forgo Lax for Porygon if you so desire as it has more reliable recover, great coverage, and status while also being able to check all previously mentioned pokemon and even mess with Chinchou a tad.

Aside from this, I agree with everything Omastar42 has suggested. But I will tweak the Snivy EV's to give a slightly more optimum spread.

Snivy @ Berry Juice
Ability: Contrary
Level: 5
EVs: 76 Def / 240 SpA / 176 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Leaf Storm
- Glare
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Porygon @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
Level: 5
EVs: 236 HP / 196 Def / 76 SpD
Calm Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Ice Beam
- Psychic
- Recover
