Somewhat Web - From Little to Uber

Hello! I'm Tileboom, username Tileboom, and I love little cup!
"But Tileboom, this is an Ubers team..."
Yeah! Turns out, there's this super OP concept called

Sticky Web

I liked Sticky Web, so I figured:
"Why not take a team concept from literally the smallest tier (sizewise) to the largest? That'll work, right?"
Apparently: yes! After about 4 hours, here's where I stand:

So without further ado: Here's the team!

Somewhat Web

My team functions on Sticky Web, so of course we need a Webber!

Galvantula

There isn't much to say about it! She leads, lays down the web, and, if possible, cripples or Switches. If Galvantula switches and lives, she's a great sleep absorber for Darkrai.

Xerneas/Lucario-Mega

Since I've never really tried Ubers, I wanted to try using one of the OU-banned Megas. I decided on Mega Lucario because I realized it's monster Adaptability-STABS had an awesome offensive synergy with another Uber I wanted to use: Xerneas. Together with their monstrously boosted attacks (be it Geomancy+2FairyAuraMoonblast or SwordsDance+2AdaptabilityCloseCombat,) the two form a nearly-unresisted offensive core. If I bring it out late enough, Xerneas becomes completely unstoppable, cleaning up with efficiency and extreme prejudice. The two have a lot of trouble with Ho-Oh, though, which brings us to:

484.png

Palkia

Palkia is capable of tanking out any Ho-Oh, and can slam into almost any other foe. Its movepool is resisted only by Azumarill, who hardly ever makes it into Ubers anyway. There isn't much else to Palkia. It's a cannon. However, since it is a Special Attacker, Xerneas gives it trouble. This brings us to the final piece of the puzzle:

Bisharp

Okay, to be honest, if Xerneas is at +2 or even +1.5 Speed, I'm in trouble. If Xerneas happens to switch in on me, especially at +2 Swords Dance, it's in trouble. It all depends on how the cookie crumbles.
Xerneas @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Moonblast
- Focus Blast
- Geomancy
- Grass Knot

Bisharp (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Dual Chop

Palkia @ Lustrous Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 HP / 252 SDef
Modest Nature
- Spacial Rend
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Aura Sphere

Galvantula (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Sticky Web
- Thunder Wave
- Volt Switch
- Giga Drain

Ho-Oh @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 SDef / 4 HP / 252 Atk
Gentle Nature
- Sacred Fire
- Brave Bird
- Iron Head
- Earthquake

Lucario (F) @ Lucarionite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Dual Chop
- Bullet Punch
Thanks for your time!

UPDATE: If anyone has an idea for a replacement for Ho-Oh, that's what I'm looking for.

Hey Tileboom,

Right off the bat we got some issues. The issue is less so the offensive threats that are dangerous but more the fact that pretty much everything on this team isn't very good, to state it bluntly. Even the good mons run bad sets. To start off, Galvantula is bad in Ubers- use Shuckle. It's far more reliable and stops opposing setup with encore.

Shuckle @ Mental Herb
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Sticky Web
- Encore
- Toxic
- Rock Tomb

Otherwise, I don't really know how well GeoXern fits on Web teams. One of the best parts of Geomancy is the +2 Spd, and that is kind of wasted here. I'd go with another thing here. If you do keep it, GK is awful, go with Thunder. Bisharp is awesome- but not in Ubers. I've tried it and it's kinda meh. Even a set I made specifically to try to beat Support Arceus failed because it loses if Arceus predicts the switch and goes for the WoW. It's just not good. Gothitelle is much better, but I'm not remaking your team (okay I sort of am, sorry). Lucario is actually good on webs- but you need to run Iron Tail > Dual Chop because it can actually KO Xern and do a solid amount of damage, as bad as the accuracy is. And, Dual Chop is p bad. LustKia is good, but it should run Hydro Pump > Surf, along with Fire Blast and Thunder or Twave. Actually, now that I look, sleep talk would be really cool here since it can help against Darkrai anti leads vs Shuckle.

Lol @ Gentle Ho-Oh.

In all of this, I am neglecting a huge part of this team's issues- offensive threats. There are a fair amount of offensive threats that can beat this team, but tbh you already need so much reworking that I can't do this.

Anyways, apologies if I came across harsh, as I can see that you are legitimately trying unlike 90% of the RMTs here. You can look at Donkey's Web team if you want to see an example, then build later.

And as I said, web is not inherently lc :/

Good luck!

Aren't you 6-0'd by turn 1 LO ekiller?
Probably overlooking something but I'm p sure Luke revenges after webs (correct if wrong). However, this is not to be said that LO Ekiller isn't a major threat.

How do you answer kyogre? Bulky specs kills something every time it comes in except on +2 lucario...despite the web usage.

Iron tail is an option, but you cant run coverage in other slot due to needing to RK Xerneas

No. This is a terribad way to check EKiller as Lucario will die to ESpeed with any chip damage. This also assumes that webs are up, and that web was set before EKiller came in, and if web is removed so is this "check" since this team lacks in some ways to even keep web up. If EKiller is led with against Galv there is little this team can do to stop it.

Uhhhhhhhh Palkia. Why it isn't running Thunder is beyond me though. Not even a Thunder Wave.

Iron Head is garbage on Ho-Oh and I'm more sick of seeing that then I am of Flash Cannon Xerneas. Grass Knot is atrocious on Geo Xern, but A for originality, please run Thunder if you want to beat Kyogre. Sticky Web teams are already at a huge disadvantage against big birds yet you have no SR and no way to handle Hoe-Oh.

He has no thunder and bulky specs kyogre beats lustrous palkia FYI. Thats what i was talking about, im not an idiot -.-
Try not to make people sound like dumbasses in your posts. This forum is supposed to be professional and efficient. Insulting everyone you disagree with doesnt gain you respect smart one

Lust Palk may loose to Ogre (it also has to predict the switch), but Ogre is still checked in the process since Specs Ogre wants to be at full health and if it takes Thunder from Palk it has lost much of its power. Also keep in mind that Specs Ogre is very slow and once it has any chip damage it can easily be revenge killed. Implying that Lust Palk in general is insufficient to check Ogre is insanity.

(facepalm) read everything i said and you would see it. Lustkia with thunder does check, but LUSTKIA WITHOUT THUNDER DOESNT CHECK BULKY SPECS OGRE.

Sd anything on turn 1 (bar Luca which you eq). Turn 2 you also sd. Press espeed and win
Yeh fair nuff I was too lazy to see stuff.

EDIT: Um that calc not really relevant because Thunder is
1. just as good at beating Kyogre
2. better at beating like everything else that Moonblast doesn't

You're right, the Shuckle is waaaaaaaaay better! :D Thanks for that one. Also, thanks for noticing Gentle Ho-Oh. I must've hit the wrong one. I'm also going through and replacing most of my Dual Chops, although I like it a lot on Bisharp. Thunder and the other 70% accuracy moves ALWAYS seem to let me down, but I will run T-Bolt on Palkia. I've tried Sleep Talk and it really makes up for the lesser coverage.

What about running Crunch on Lucario, maybe for Mewtwos? Also, where would I find Donkey's web team? Last but not least, GeoXern is there in case for some reason I'd not gotten my Web up.

Thanks for the help!

Buuuuuuuut Thunder misses.
Um actually there's this cool thing called Drizzle that Kyogre has.

Tbolt Palkia is bad. Use thunder.
