When I say sorta balanced, I mean both walls hit like trucks while still retaining enough bulk to take a lot of hits. But without further ado, let me introduce my second RMT!
Spoodermeng (Galvantula) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Thunder
- Bug Buzz
- Sticky Web
- Volt Switch
One of my two possible leads, the other being Landorus-T. Galvantula's main job is simple. It sets up sticky webs and either wrecks opposing Skarmories with Thunder or gets out to be used as death fodder.
In my experience with this team, Galvantula is a very reliable sticky webber and electric special attacker.
Mai Waifu (Gardevoir) @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Substitute
Main special attacker of the team, and packs WAAAY too much punch on the fairy side. Psyshock so that special walls and assault vests don't matter that much to her, and shadow ball for my coverage move of choice. I have tried Focus Miss at first, but it was ether unreliable both in terms of accuracy and coverage. Obligatory STAB Pixelate Hyper voice too strunk.
252 SpA Pixilate Mega Gardevoir Hyper Voice vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Goodra: 216-254 (56.2 - 66.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Pixilate Mega Gardevoir Hyper Voice vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Conkeldurr: 432-510 (104.3 - 123.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Hardbody (Conkeldurr) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Ice Punch
Pretty straightforward moveset. Knock Off for utility and coverage, Drain Punch and Mach Punch for primary STABS and recovery in Drain Punch's case, Ice Punch to kill/scare Garchomp/Lando. I like to switch Conkeldurr into common Will'o Wisp users like Rotom and Sableye to get that Guts activated for more "strimpf"
Slime Shady (Goodra) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Gooey
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Dragon Pulse
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
I'm not going to explain exactly how bulky Goodra is. But I WILL mention that the EV's allow Goodra to threaten rather frail pokemon like Greninja while still taking minimal damage from its Protean Ice Beam. A little thing I like to do if Goodra is low health vs a Greninja is to bait the Ice Beam and switch into Scizor for the Bullet Punch. Early game, this strat can be used for a free U-Turn for the momentum.
252 SpA Life Orb Protean Greninja Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Goodra: 151-182 (39.3 - 47.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
Carnage (Scizor) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 Atk / 252 HP / 8 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Pursuit
- Superpower
Yes, this is the old Band set from Gen V. And it is every bit the offensive monster it was. This set combines decent bulk with super strong U-turns, scary bullet punches, and the ability to pursuit trap frail psychic types, bulky psychic types, and similar Dark types.
Kitty (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 172 Def / 88 Spd
Naive Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Stealth Rock
On the topic of recycled Gen V sets, we have the offensive pivot Landorus! This is my other lead if it gets too dangerous for Galvantula to set up the webs, like if there's an Espeon or Bisharp on the enemy team. Physical wall, Aegislash check, dragon check, and secondary U-turner would describe its roles quite sufficiently.
0 Atk Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Aegislash-Shield: 210-248 (64.8 - 76.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Aegislash-Blade Shadow Sneak vs. 248 HP / 172 Def Landorus-T: 73-87 (19.1 - 22.8%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery
Threat list as I have experienced them:
Multiple layers of hazards
DDance Mega TTar
My goals for the team:
To find a way to incorporate hazard removal without losing too much of the offensive pressure in the team
To find a replacement for one of the Assault Vests so I can start wrecking Rated Wifi battles ingame like I do to the OU ladder (have I mentioned that I'm currently at the high 1400 rating on the OU ladder and have gone 17-4 with this team?)
