SS OU Specs Kyurem Bulky Offense

This is my first RTM. I have been building for a while but every time I do there is always something missing and I can't quite put my finger on it. Any criticism (as harsh as it may be) is welcome and I hope I can improve as a builder from your advice.

Kyurem @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Freeze-Dry
- Draco Meteor
- Focus Blast

Kyurem was the pokemon I decided to build the team around. I chose the choice specs set to capitalize on the offensive presence it exerts on the field. Trying to hit common pokemon as hard as possible.

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off

Clefable is the SR setter of the team. I chose Clefable because it could switch in on special walls, mainly Blissey, that would be invited in by Kyurem and set up the hazards or knock-off their boots. It is also a check to threats that outspeed and threaten Kyurem, like Latios.

Tapu Fini @ Leftovers
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 252 HP / 64 SpD / 192 Spe
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Scald
- Taunt
- Defog

Fini acts as the defogger of the team. Mainly here to help with Kyurem's longevity. I chose Tapu Fini for 2 reasons. 1) it's a fairly bulky defogger that can switch in multiple times and defog. 2) For the misty terrain it invoices, it protects my team from status, like Toxapexs poison, and paralysis.

Kartana @ Choice Band
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Smart Strike
- Sacred Sword
- Knock Off

Kartana is there to provide some physical offense so that special walls don't wall me forever. I picked the choice band set for its immediate power, trying to do as much damage as possible when it's on the field.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 12 Def / 244 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off

Lando is here to provide a bit of speed control, revenge kill some threats, and make the team a little less physically frail. Defog was removed from the standard set because I already have a defogger and a second one is not really needed. It's also here to provide offensive momentum for the team and allow me to switch in either Kyurem or Kartana for free.

Slowbro @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Scald
- Slack Off
- Future Sight
- Teleport

Slowbro was initially a filler on this team, but it proved to be useful than I thought. Its future sight + Teleport combo pairs well with Kyurem and really helps in putting pressure on the opponent. And in longer games its regenerator allows me to use it to grab the momentum multiple times and not get warned down.

Hey Harrisonk!
Sorry for being late on the rate. I really liked the core of Kyurem and Kartana as they pair really well together and almost nothing can wall them at once. You built the team pretty well too, as it supports the two breakers. But while playing with it, I found some weak points of the team, which can hinder the team from functioning properly. The team is also weak against Zeraora and Volcarona, two very common Pokemon in the tier, where the former can Knock Landorus-T's Scarf off, reducing speed control, and Volcarona can sweep the entire team if it has Giga Drain. Landorus is the only proper check to both, but it can get overwhelmed quickly as it is running an offensive set and lacks reliable recovery. I also don't like the idea of using three Choice items, as it prevents half the team from switching moves, limiting the overall potential of it. With all this in mind, I made some changes to the team. So that being said, here is what I recommend-

Major Changes-

:Slowbro:-->:Blissey:

Blissey (F) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic /Thunder Wave
- Soft-Boiled
- Teleport
While Future Sight is a great tool to help Kyurem break the opposing team, it is not that necessary, especially since Kyurem can nuke anything with proper prediction. Having two water-types was unnecessary as well because it stacks weaknesses and Tapu Fini can check many threats that Slowbro checks. For these reasons, I recommend using a Blissey because not only it gives you a reliable switch in to Specs Dragapult which heavily pressures Kyurem, it also gives you a great counter to the aforementioned Volcarona as Blissey can prevent it from sweeping by poisoning or paralyzing it. Blissey can act as a glue, spread status to help the team, and can also somewhat check Tapu Lele as the team is currently weak to, though you have to be careful with Psyshock. It is running Teleport so Kyurem can get free switchs to wallbreak without sacrificing momentum.

Minor Changes-

:clefable:
Clefable (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Protect
- Wish
- Teleport
Since Kyurem is running a Specs set, it lacks recovery and Stealth Rocks will wear it down really quickly. Landorus and Tapu Fini also lacks reliable recovery and won't be able to check what they are supposed to after they take hits. Wish+Teleport Clefable fix this issue by giving reliable recovery to all of them and also checks many Physical attackers like, but not limited to Garchomp, Dragonite, Hawlucha, etc. Overall, this set fits better in the team than the current one.

:landorus-therian:
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic / Knock Off
- U-turn
Like I said before, it is a bad idea to Choice lock three Pokemon in the team, as it can easily be taken advantage of, so I recommend using a defensive Landorus. It can check a lot of threats like Zeraora and Sand Rush Excadrill, both of which are nuisance for the team, reliably with wish support. It can also set up Rocks since both Clefable and Blissey cannot afford that while still bringing team members safely via U-Turn.

:kartana:
Just replace the Choice Band with a Choice Scarf
Since Landorus is no longer running a Scarf set, the team was lacking speed control. Scarf Kartana solves this problem by providing speed control and it also gives you a great late game cleaner. Kartana already has a high Attack stat, and while giving it a Choice Band to further increase it sounds nice, it is not necessary, especially since Kyurem is punching big holes in the enemy team. Kartana also gives you a reliable way to revenge kill very fast threats like Zeraora and Dragapult, so I though this would be more useful for the team.

I hope you like the suggestions and it proves effective for you. There are still a few threatening Pokemon you have to play carefully around such as opposing Kartana and Melmetal. Landorus can check the former with Wish support, and Melmetal is slow, so it can be revenge killed. Both Clefable and Blissey, which invites Melmetal, have Teleport, so it won't get many switch ins anyway. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. Have fun with the team and good luck.
