[SET COMMENTS]
Spectrier is a powerful special attacker that is able to threaten a large portion of the metagame with its powerful STAB moves, primarily Hex, which is able to capitalize on its ability to spread status. Shadow Ball can be used as Spectrier's Ghost-type STAB attack for more immediate power, although it doesn't have as much damage potential as Hex. Dark Pulse is Spectrier's secondary STAB attack and grants it a Ghost / Dark typing; this typing only has one weakness and provides Spectrier with an important immunity to Extreme Speed. Nasty Plot increases its wallbreaking power. Will-O-Wisp boosts the power of Hex and hinders physical attackers such as Lycanroc-D, Landorus-T, and Rillaboom. Taunt can be used, either as an alternative to or in conjunction with Nasty Plot, and it allows Spectrier to exploit passive switch-ins such as Clefable and Toxapex by preventing them from recovering HP and using status moves. Substitute is an option that Spectrier can use to take advantage of offensive checks such as Rillaboom. 112 HP EVs help Spectrier avoid an OHKO from Grassy Glide from Life Orb Rillaboom and Moonblast from offensive Clefable, while the remaining EVs are put into Speed and Special Attack to maximize its offensive capabilities.

Extreme Speed users such as Arcanine, Entei, and Lucario appreciate Spectrier's ability to threaten bulky Ghost-types; in return, these Pokemon are able to threaten its offensive checks such as Pheromosa. Spectrier can support Rillaboom by threatening Pokemon such as Fire / Psychic Volcarona, Fighting / Flying Tornadus-T, and Bug / Fighting Landorus-T. Spectrier mainly struggles with Dark-types, so Fighting-types such as Landorus-T, Rillaboom, and Lycanroc-D are able to threaten these checks. Poison / Dark types such as Tornadus-T, Toxapex, and Clefable in particular are able to stop Spectrier from sweeping, so Ground-type attackers like Hydreigon, Landorus-T, and Garchomp can cover this weakness.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Calm Mind is an alternative to Nasty Plot that trades off immediate power for some extra bulk; in particular, this option works well with Substitute sets. Mud Shot can be used as one of Spectrier's STAB attacks to grant it either a Ground / Dark or Ground / Ghost typing. This option gives Spectrier an option to hit Poison / Dark Pokemon, but it is significantly weaker and overall gives Spectrier a worse defensive typing. Ground / Dark Spectrier should opt for Substitute, while Ground / Ghost sets prefer Will-O-Wisp.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types with Regenerator**: Dark-types with Regenerator such as Tornadus-T, Galarian Slowking, and Toxapex resist both of Spectrier's STAB attacks while healing back most of the damage it inflicts with Regenerator.

**Clefable**: Clefable is a solid check to Spectrier, as both its offensive and defensive sets can threaten Spectrier. Poison / Dark Unaware Clefable is the most reliable wall to Nasty Plot Spectrier in the metagame, while offensive Clefable is able to threaten Spectrier with super effective Moonblast.

**Fast Physical Attackers**: Fast physical attackers such as Pheromosa and Choice Scarf Landorus-T are able to outpace Spectrier and deal heavy damage to it, but all of these threats are susceptible to Will-O-Wisp.

**Arcanine**: Arcanine is a solid check to Spectrier with its Normal / Fairy and Normal / Dark sets, as it is immune to Spectrier's Ghost-type STAB attack and is resistant to Dark. In addition, it has an immunity to Will-O-Wisp with Flash Fire and threatens to KO Spectrier with either Play Rough or Crunch.

(Spectrier is a powerful special attacker that is able to threaten a large portion of the metagame with its powerful STAB attacks) This is fine but also seems filler-ish. Might could work it into the actual meaningful stuff and get rid of this. Hex is Spectrier's main STAB attack that is able to capitalize on Spectrier's ability to spread status. Shadow Ball can be used as Spectrier's Ghost-type STAB for more immediate power, though it doesn't have as much damage potential as Hex. Dark Pulse is Spectrier's secondary STAB attack and grants Spectrier with a Ghost / Dark typing; this typing only has one weakness and provides Spectrier with an important immunity to Extreme Speed. Nasty Plot is used to boost Spectrier's Special Attack and increase its breaking power. Will-O-Wisp is a support tool that not only boosts the power of Hex, but also can hinder physical attackers such as Lycanroc-D, Landorus-Therian, and Rillaboom. Taunt can be used, either as an alternative to or in conjunction with Nasty Plot, and allows Spectrier to exploit passive switch-ins such as Clefable and Toxapex by stopping them from recovering HP and using status moves. Substitute is an option that Spectrier can use to take advantage of offensive checks such as Zeraora and Rillaboom. 112 HP EVs are used to ensure Spectrier is avoids a OHKO from Life Orb Grassy Glide Rillaboom and offensive Clefable, with the remaining EVs put into Speed and Special Attack to maximize its offensive capabilites.

Extreme Speed users such as Arcanine, Entei, and Lucario appreciate Spectrier's ability to threaten bulky Ghost-types; in return, these Pokemon are able to threaten Spectrier's offensive checks such as Pheromosa and Zeraora. Spectrier can support Rillaboom by threatening Pokemon such as Fire / Psychic Volcarona, Fighting / Flying Tornadus-T, and Bug / Fighting Landorus-T. Mud Shot can be used as the primary STAB attack to grant Spectrier a Ground / Dark typing. This option gives Spectrier an option to hit Poison / Dark Pokemon, but is significantly weaker and overall gives it a worse defensive typing. I was really expecting it to be Ghost / Ground to keep normal immunity, but I'm not sure how this compares offensively.
