[OVERVIEW]
Ghost
========
Spectrier is a dangerous special attacker that can quickly snowball teams thanks to its higher Speed than Pokemon like Garchomp and Keldeo, its access to Calm Mind to set up on and become resilient to the likes of Tapu Fini and Zapdos, a great ability in Grim Neigh, and its Ghost-type attacks hitting most Pokemon for neutral or super effective damage. Spectrier can also take advantage of Water and Ground teams, which lack good switch-ins to Will-O-Wisp + Hex. It can use passive Pokemon like Toxapex, Slowking, and Slowbro to set up with Substitute + Calm Mind, and it has good utility in Will-O-Wisp, which can force out physical attackers such as Garchomp and walls like Celesteela. However, Spectrier has very limited coverage, which makes it unable to take on Dark- and Normal-types such as Tyranitar and Porygon2. It also can get revenge killed by Choice Scarf users such as Landorus-T and Excadrill along with fast Pokemon such as Regieleki and Dragapult.

[SET COMMENTS]
Spectrier can set up forced switches from slower Pokemon such as Urshifu-R and Garchomp and on walls like Celesteela and Ferrothorn with ease due to Substitute and Will-O-Wisp. Substitute blocks status from Pokemon like Zapdos, Rotom-W, and Heatran as well as Leech Seed from Celesteela and Ferrothorn, and is very good to use on predicted switches against Pokemon that fear Will-O-Wisp like Garchomp and Dragonite. Will-O-Wisp is primarily used on physical attackers such as Mamoswine, Dragonite, Garchomp, and Tapu Bulu, but it can be useful together with Hex to 2HKO walls such as Celesteela, Rotom-W, Toxapex, and Swampert. It also allows Spectrier to set up Substitute against defensive Tornadus-T's Knock Off and Mandibuzz's Foul Play. Hex goes well with Will-O-Wisp, as the combination allows Spectrier to beat bulky Pokemon like Celesteela and fast physical attackers such as Terrakion, Urshifu-R, and Garchomp. 52 HP EVs and 200 Defense EVs allow Spectrier to keep its Substitute up against burned Celesteela and Ferrothorn.
Galarian Corsola can switch into strong physical attacks from Pokemon like Barraskewda, Choice Scarf Terrakion, and Choice Scarf Excadrill. It can also provide Spectrier with Stealth Rock, Will-O-Wisp, and Cursed Body support, making it easier to sweep. Dragon Dance Dragapult is a great setup sweeper against Dragon and Electric teams. Dragapult also helps with Pokemon that Spectrier has trouble against like Hydreigon and Zeraora, while Spectrier can take down troublesome walls for Dragapult like Toxapex, Avalugg, and Celesteela. Mimikyu is essential for using its Disguise to beat Dark- and Ghost-types such as Hydregion, Tyranitar, Zarude, and opposing Dragapult. Mimikyu's Drain Punch can also help take care of Dark- and Normal-types like Bisharp, Obstagoon, and Diggersby. Choice Scarf Blacephalon checks Pokemon like Excadrill, Zarude, and Choice Band Weavile. Gengar is very useful in threatening troublesome Dark-types like Tyranitar and Hydreigon with Focus Blast, Mandibuzz with Thunderbolt, and Grimmsnarl with Sludge Wave. It can also remove Toxic Spikes thanks to its part-Poison typing. Aegislash can use Swords Dance to beat the defensive backbone of Blissey and Porygon2 on Normal teams. SubToxic Aegislash can hinder walls such as Mantine and Zapdos, and Hex Spectrier greatly benefits from Aegislash using Toxic to inflict status onto opposing Pokemon. Its part-Steel typing is also useful against Alolan Ninetales, Rillaboom, and Tapu Lele. Albeit uncommon, Jellicent is a great answer to Kingdra's attacks that Spectrier has trouble taking on.

Other Options
=============
Ghost
--------
Choice Specs can be used to make Spectrier a fearsome special attacker to anything that does not resist its moves, but it cannot utilize Substitute or Calm Mind to take advantage of passive Pokemon like Toxapex. Nasty Plot with Metronome can turn Spectrier into a fearsome sweeper much faster, which helps it beat walls like Mantine, Zapdos, and Toxapex, but it cannot set up on special attackers like Tapu Fini more consistently without Calm Mind.
Checks and Counters
===================
Ghost
--------
**Normal-types**: Spectrier cannot do much against Normal-types such as Blissey, Porygon2, and Obstagoon.
**Dark-types**: Dark-types such as Hydreigon, Zarude, and Mandibuzz easily take Spectrier's Hex. However, Mandibuzz can be somewhat hindered by Will-O-Wisp weakening Foul Play or Knock Off.
**Revenge Killers**: Naturally faster Pokemon like Tapu Koko, Regieleki, and Dragapult as well as Choice Scarf users such as Excadrill and Landorus-T can OHKO or 2HKO unboosted Spectrier with their STAB attacks.
**Entry Hazards**: Stealth Rock, Spikes, and Toxic Spikes quickly wear Spectrier down. They are especially problematic due to Ghost not having reliable entry hazard control.
**Status**: Toxic and Will-O-Wisp easily wear Spectrier down, while Thunder Wave makes it unable to outpace Pokemon like Jirachi and Gengar.
