[OVERVIEW]

Once Calyrex's loyal steed, Spectrier now haunts the metagame as a fast, strong special attacker that can snowball with Grim Neigh. It has great base Special Attack and Speed stats, OHKOing targets like Mew and outrunning threats such as Landorus and Naganadel, along with a STAB Shadow Ball for excellent neutral coverage. After a Nasty Plot boost, Spectrier is difficult to slow down due to Grim Neigh making it stronger with each KO, along with a Fake Out immunity. Tools that help Spectrier set up, such as Fake Out and redirection from Pokemon like Zeraora, Blastoise, and Amoonguss, are excellent, as is Urshifu-R, which beats the Dark- and Normal-types, like Incineroar and Porygon2, that are immune or resistant to Shadow Ball. However, without a boost, Spectrier can struggle to break past bulkier Pokemon like Tapu Fini and Incineroar, the latter of which doesn't fear Shadow Ball. Shadow Ball is also its only good attack, which exacerbates the issue of needing a boost to snowball and be optimally effective. Spectrier also has issues setting up a Nasty Plot, due to the being frail enough to fear spread damage even when given redirection, and Life Orb recoil leaves it vulnerable to priority moves such as Rillaboom's Grassy Glide. To top it all off, Spectrier relies heavily on its Speed, which makes it weak to opposing Tailwind or Trick Room, while also being threatened by the two Pokemon naturally faster than it, Zeraora and Dragapult. Trick Room teams in particular are a huge headache due to Porygon2, one of the best Spectrier answers, being a mainstay on those teams.

[SET]
name: Nasty Plot
move 1: Shadow Ball
move 2: Mud Shot
move 3: Nasty Plot
move 4: Protect
item: Life Orb
ability: Grim Neigh
nature: Timid
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

* Shadow Ball is a strong STAB move that possesses excellent neutral coverage and hits Ghost-weak targets like Mew and Metagross hard.

* Mud Shot allows Spectrier to KO Incineroar, one of the few Pokemon that resists Shadow Ball, after a Nasty Plot and a bit of chip.

* Nasty Plot makes Spectrier a massive sweeping threat, lets it muscle through bulkier Pokemon, and secures OHKOs to snowball with Grim Neigh.

* Protect keeps Spectrier safe while another teammate, such as a Fake Out user, comes in to support it, while also being able to stall out field conditions like Trick Room or Tailwind.

* Life Orb significantly helps Spectrier pick up KOs, like the OHKO on Mew.

* A Timid nature lets Spectrier always outspeed Naganadel, while Modest guarantees the OHKO on Mew and the 2HKO on 252 HP Celesteela.

=============

Taunt allows Spectrier to prevent speed control or recovery moves from Pokemon slower than it, primarily Porygon2. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers like Zygarde and Urshifu-R, indirectly increasing its physical bulk. Snarl helps Spectrier and its teammates by weakening attackers like Heatran and Volcanion. However, to use any of these moves, Spectrier must give up Mud Shot, rendering it unable to hit Incineroar. Hyper Beam is an option that can hit both Incineroar and Porygon2, but it has the devastating drawback of making Spectrier unable to act for a turn. Spell Tag can be used to boost Shadow Ball without Life Orb's recoil, but it is weaker than Life Orb, notably losing the chance to OHKO Mew, and doesn't boost Mud Shot.

The Overview, content-wise, looks great; just needs some touch up from GP but overall the prose is fine. I like the first sentence here, it perfectly captures what Spec is about. Sentences 2-4 look a bit clunky, but I get what you're trying to say there; try to weave in the specifics to your points here more smoothly, you don't need to mention its specific base stats for example, but something you can do when it comes to Speed is note the stuff it does outrun (or the few things it misses out on if it's really fast). For the teammates section, when you mention Normals and Darks under Ursh's bit, name some of these. Last, expand more on its weaknesses; a lot of the reason why Spec isn't great unboosted is both because its best move is Shadow Ball and because its only good move is Shadow Ball, all its coverage moves being rly wack. Also note how its relative frailty can also make setting an NP boost tough without support, as it can't afford to spare HP when it's that prone to prio on top of LO.

Set Comments
  • Name better targets for Shadow Ball. Tapu Lele isn't common enough, and Dragapult is naturally faster and beats Spec.
  • For NP, emphasize how it can force OHKOes which in turn lets it snowball further.
  • Mention key stuff that Timid lets Spec outrun. Mention Modest too, and how it notably guarantees the OHKO on Mew and 2HKO on 252 HP Celes (and thus the OHKO at +2)
For OO, don't mention Hex, it's conditionality is just really bad and not worth. Mention Snarl though, it's dece and has seen rogue usage here and there. For Spell Tag, mention that the weaker boost also means it loses on key calcs with Shadow Ball like the chance to OHKO Mew.

tell me somewhere when done

Overview
  • Overall looks good content-wise, prose could use a touch-up but I'll give you flexibility on that knowing you yourself know you've improved.
  • Make sure to explicitly note its frailty.

Set Details
  • You can basically combine NP point with Grim Neigh point.
  • Protect for stalling field conditions, etc.
1/2

[OVERVIEW]
  • Add Naganadel with Landorus when mentioning what Spectrier outspeeds.
  • An important point to add when talking about its frailty is being vulnerable to spread moves even with redirection.
[SET]
  • Move Nasty Plot to move 3 to align with Set Comments and my minor case of OCD.
[SET COMMENTS]
  • For Mud Shot say that this deals with one of the few Shadow Ball resists.
[OTHER OPTIONS]
  • Memo said to add Snarl and you haven't (if he changed his mind elsewhere don't add it now, I'm personally indifferent).
  • Specify Porygon2 as a target for Taunt.
  • Add Hyper Beam as a way to deal large damage to Porygon2 (and Incineroar), albeit with a large drawback.
  • Don't mention Nasty Plot as a possibility for being replaced since it's an integral part of why to use Spectrier in the first place.
Good work, remember to add to Credits! QC 2/2

[OVERVIEW]

Once Calyrex's loyal steed, Spectrier now haunts the metagame as a fast, strong special attacker that possesses the ability to snowball thanks to its signature Grim Neigh ability. can snowball with Grim Neigh. It has great base Special Attack and Speed stats, which allows it to OHKO OHKOing targets like Mew and outrunning threats such as Landorus and Naganadel, along with a STAB Shadow Ball that possesses for excellent neutral coverage. Spectrier also has issues setting up a Nasty Plot, due to the combination of the damage taken while it sets up, general fraility which leaves it susceptible to being frail enough to fear spread damage even with when given redirection, and Life Orb recoil leaves it vulnerable to priority moves such as Rillaboom's Grassy Glide. To top it all off, Spectrier is also heavily reliant relies heavily on its Speed, which makes it weak to opposing Tailwind or Trick Room, while also being threatened by the two Pokemon naturally faster than it, Zeraora and Dragapult.
