Hello! This is my 2nd Smogon forum, I decided to write another one because my last one "Weavile Hyper Offense" was very successful. This time I am building around Spectrier. I was going to do Gengar, but Gengar is outclassed by Spectrier is what the Discord told me. So, I decided against Gengar and did Spectrier. Also, HUGE thanks to Liz in the Smogon Discord server. She/He helped me build this team. Click the SPRITES for the Pokepast!

Spectrier @ Leftovers
Ability: Grim Neigh
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Nasty Plot
- Hex
- Will-O-Wisp
Spectrier is GREAT in this metagame, it's speed stat is pretty good which allows it to revenge kill efficiently. It has got a base 145 special attack which is GREAT and it can wall break pretty well. The EVs are self explanatory aswell as the nature. This set runs subsitute so it can burn something HALVING it's attacking stat and then it's got a base 130 powered STAB that is 100% accuracy. Sounds pretty broken to me. Nasty Plot to get to +2 Special Attack, this move is the most helpful when predicting a swap or if your opponent doesn't do a lot of damage to you so you can simply take advantage by stacking your Nasty Plot's. BTW, Spectrier is currently being TESTED in OU it actually might get banned. That is how SCARY this mon is.
Excadrill @ Focus Sash
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
Excadrill is my hazard removal and hazard setter. Hazard's are important on offensive based teams because it makes it easier for cleaners to clean up end game. Excadrill also can fill the role of a "Suicide Lead", also it can serve as a Tapu Koko counter. I think it is probably important to keep if the opposing team has Tapu Koko because my team is very weak to it.
Cinderace @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Libero
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Pyro Ball
- Zen Headbutt
- High Jump Kick
- Sucker Punch
Cinderace is a great revenge killer with decent speed and decent attack. Zen Headbutt is for revenge killing Gengar and breaking Toxapex. Sucker Punch is for things like Dragapult that do outspeed you, if it is heavily chipped you can kill it. High Jump Kick is needed or else you are walled by Heatran and Tyranitar. Pyro Ball is STAB and probably what you will click most of the time on things like Magearna, Ferrothorn etc. Cinderace is most helpful late game when things are heavily chipped.
Rillaboom @ Life Orb
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Grassy Slide
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Superpower
Rillaboom can help my team NOT get swept by Rain Teams because my team was weak to Rain teams the Discord told me. Overall, Rillaboom is a very good wall breaker right now. It's speed is very meh. It's base attack is pretty good, my set is not running Wood Hammer because recoil + life orb recoil is very bad. Also, I couldn't use Choice Band because I wanted to run Swords Dance. Grassy Slide I think is a better move because it's ability summons Grassy Surge. This makes Grassy Slide to be +1 priority allowing to move first almost every time. I think Grassy Slide is always better to run OVER Wood hammer in my opiion. Super Power can hit Tyranitar, Bisharp, Weavile etc. Knock Off is for knocking off items and screwing over Pokemon that rely on Choice Band/Choice Specs or any item in general. Knocking off an item can always cripple a Pokemon a bit.
Magearna @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Stored Power
- Shift Gear
- Calm Mind
- Dazzling Gleam
Magearna is my dark resist. Magearna fits very well on this team because Spectrier is weak to dark. Magearna also can help with Dragapult unless Dragapult is running Flamethrower/Fire Blast which I don't think is what they're running. Although, due to Magearna having pretty good bulk I think Magearna can take that pretty well. Also, this Magearna set has it holding a Weakness Policy so if it hits you with a Fire move you get to +2 SpA and you can remove Dragapult with Draining Kiss and get all your health back.
Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
IVs: 0 Spe
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Future Sight
- Recover
- Teleport
Slowbro is my Fire resist and my pivot. I mainly picked Slowbro because without it my team is practically Cinderace food. I am running minimum speed so I can swallow a hit and Teleport in to another Pokemon. Also, the Regenerator ability allows me to get most of that health back. In most case scenarios, Slowbro would want to take the hit more than another Pokemon on the team because the rest of the team is pretty frail. Scald is it's STAB move, Future Sight lets is another STAB but mostly for forcing opponents out in to things like Tyranitar that are immune, and then easily predicting that and going in to Rillaboom and get some big damage on it.
If you feel like I made a mistake or there is a problem with the team, don't hesitate to let me know in the comments!
