EVs
========

• The given HP and SpD allows Spectrier to survive a Choice Specs Prismatic Laser from Necrozma after a Calm Mind, while the Defense ensures you survive two attacks from Choice Band Garchomp after burn. The 184 Spe allows it to outspeed Naganadel. The rest is put in SpA.
• Alt EVs: 240 HP / 28 Def / 16 SpA / 4 SpD / 220 Spe Modest Nature, Speed is lowered to simply outspeed max base 110s, increased Spa to improve Hex rolls.

Strategy & Support
========

• If running the specially offensive variant, do not use Will-O-Wisp against Kartana, an unboosted Hex will be able to knock out.
• Against Cresselia, use Hex t1 to account for trick choiced variants
• Against non-Choice Scarf Genesect, using Will-O-Wisp instead of Calm Mind is the best play, in order to account for physical variants, who will get an Attack boost against you.
• Primarina's matchup can be shifted against you if Moonblast starts lowering your Special Attack, especially if you are facing against a Calm Mind Primarina variant.
• Darmanitan-G will often run Choice Scarf, which will convincingly 2HKO you, even after being burned.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Dark and Normal Pokemon**: Pokemon like Urshifu-S, Moltres-G, Hydreigon, Zarude, and most Snorlax are not threatened by Hex. Chansey and non-Rock Tomb stall Snorlax are the exceptions, as they cannot damage Spectrier and will be incapacitated by Taunt.

**Physical Fire-types**: As they are immune to Will-O-Wisp, Fire-types like Darmanitan and Entei will be able to attack Spectrier's weak Defense unabated.

**Rillaboom**: Rillaboom's priority Grassy Glide and serviceable bulk makes EVing to both survive the initial Grassy Glide and follow up moves alongside having enough Special Attack to KO it first not possible against offensive variants, like Life Orb Rillaboom.

**Faster Pokemon**: Naturally fast Pokemon, like Regieleki and Zeraora, can deal damage to Spectrier before it can weaken their offensive presence. If running a Choice Scarf, Pokemon like Galarian Darmanitan and Urshifu-R will also be able to KO Spectrier. The only exceptions would be non-Choice Band Pheromosa and Choice Scarf Gardevoir, who cannot 2HKO Spectrier and will be 2HKOed by Spectrier in return.
