Speed 201

I have seen a few suggestions giving base speed 80 Pokemon 20 speed EV to put them at 201 speed stat.

I agree that looks like a good number, but what exactly does that accomplish? Are there things that 201 speed would allow you to catch that you could not otherwise?

In D/P, it doesn't seem to me like there's a point at all in getting to certain "magic numbers" anymore. Where did you get these suggestions?

Very, very useful. But all 201 speed does is outspeed most pokemon that don't have any EVs in speed or natures for speed upping. 199 is better, IMO.
